Yugioh! TCG Thread

It's twilight. Anyone talking about how original it is is being sarcastic. No player thinks it's original.

Did it ever occur to you that some may not follow what goes on at major events? He could have very well been one of those people for all I know. I am not bothered to check all the pages in this thread to see if he is familiar with the recent cardpool or popular decks, so I could only assume he did not know. Hardly anything to stake an argument over.

And not that you would believe me, but for what it is worth, the deck I listed was made from scratch (as in devoid of netdecking, skeletons or otherwise). The concept is obvious enough that any mildly good player could think of a working combination between the two.

No deck is truly original in any sense, as far as Yugioh goes, so many people play this game any idea someone thinks of has already been tried and used by someone at an earlier time, cant forget about the Japanese players that have had all of the cards we just got for years.

Originality and YuGiOh dont even belong in the same sentence.

For some reason I was big into a Zombie deck. Perhaps it was because of Vampire Lord just kicking ass especially when it became a Vampire Genesis and such. Although the ban / limitation list sort of made me quit. That, and it got pretty cost-effective.

That reminds me of a Spanish "Vampire Lord" I used to have... "Senor de los Vampiros". I believe I ended up trading it away just because its name was awesome.

Well... First off, good job with adhering close to the 40-card minimum. 40-42 cards is usually best.

Are you playing Traditional or Advance format? If you are playing Advance (the format where certain cards are banned; this is the most popular and competitive style of play), you need to replace some of the banned cards in your deck (Call of the Haunted, Premature Burial, and Dark Hole). The banlist may be found here, under the Yu-Gi-Oh! section.

Although your deck is concise, I notice you are trying to incorporate many things into one deck. Put simply, it just does not work very well. Stick with one-to-two themes or strategies per deck. Since I noticed it is primarily Zombies, you may want to build off of that. My biggest recommendation is to buy two or three of the new Zombie Structure Decks for some much needed support.

---

In other news, I have a Regional quickly approaching. Since I won the last one, I was thinking of bringing a fun-yet-effective deck. Aside from having fun though, I would like to win myself a Gorz playmat.

I used to play YGO, but now I don't. I think I had quit playing it about the time the Cyberdark Dragon series came around. I still got all my cards though and I have been planning on selling them on ebay but I haven't gotten around to it. I do have some good cards like Shinato and Mirror Force. If you want any of them, feel free to PM me about it and we can discuss it. I think my favorite deck that I liked to use was my Machine/Dragon deck. It was almost complete too, I just needed DNA Transplant and the fusion of Lord of D and Divine Dragon Ragnorak. If I had another Blue Eyes Ultimate Dragon, I would've been able to summon two or three to the field (both through fusion). But I think my most effective deck would be my Fire/Rock deck. Combining the Fire monster's high attack with the Rock monster's high Defense, they usually complimented each other fairly well.

I don't see them banning Synchros in the near future, specifically because it's the new mechanic built for the new anime series which is only in its first season. They're really popular on all fronts (Anime fans, Casual, Competitive). This especially applies for Stardust. The only ones I could see getting banned are Colossal Fighter and some of the Duel Terminal ones, and that's a long shot at best.

we wont see any of them banned, ever, but I wouldn't be surprised if Malicious gets put back to 2 next format as its the main source of Synchs.

ah ok, well from all of the synchro's I only want to see Stardust banned.
Hopefully Giant Trunade will be put back to 2 and Exiled Force will be restricted again in the next banlist but I don't see it happen.

Trunade is really good but I see it coming to 2, maybe.

Exiled Force isnt a big deal atm.. it deserves to be where its at.

Been over a month since I last posted in this thread, and over a month since I last played YGO. But a couple of days ago, I learned we were finally getting Yusei's pack, so I made this deck. It's based somewhat on the last deck I posted here.

Monsters: 20

1 - Cyber Dragon
3 - Satellite Cannon

3 - Cyber Valley
2 - Herald of Orange Light
2 - Honest
3 - Nitro Synchron
3 - Shining Angel
3 - Tuningware

Spells: 14

1 - Brain Control
2 - Creature Swap
1 - Heavy Storm
1 - Limiter Removal
3 - Machine Duplication
2 - Mind Control
1 - Monster Reborn
1 - Mystical Space Typhoon
2 - Pot of Avarice

Traps: 6

2 - Limit Reverse
1 - Mirror Force
2 - Threatening Roar
1 - Torrential Tribute

Extra: 15

1 - Avenging Knight Parshath
2 - Black Rose Dragon
1 - Chimeratech Overdragon (I plan on using Overload Fusion in the side)
2 - Goyo Guardian
2 - Iron Chain Dragon
2 - Magical Android
3 - Nitro Warrior
1 - Stardust Dragon
1 - Thought Ruler Archfiend

Two Creature Swaps is a little excessive. If you could find room for 2 Nova Summoners to search Honest and Shining Angel I'd say its fine, but as is, two is too many.

Two Pot of Avarice is a little too much as well, but I see your reasoning and that's fine.

Are you honestly going to Machine Dupe Satellite Cannon when you have Cyber Valley, Tuningware and Nitro Synchron? I'm just not sure it's going to come up often enough to warrant their use. If you cut them, Limiter Removal can go, as can Cyber Dragon with Limiter. That leaves room for another Honest, two Nova Summoners and two S/T's.

If you really like the very, very cool Satellite Cannon idea (never would've caught it myself) then ignore that.

EDIT:
Monsters - 20
2x Manticore of the Darkness
1x Green Baboon the Defender
3x Nimble Momonga
3x Giant Rat
3x Shiba Warrior Taro
1x Rescue Cat
3x The Wicked Worm Beast
1x Exiled Force
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
1x Card Trooper
1x Sangan/Exiled

Magic - 14
2x Card of Safe Return
2x Foolish Burial
2x Creature Swap
1x Pot of Avarice
1x Brain Control
1x Monster Reborn
1x Heavy
1x MST
1x Lightning Vortex
1x Scapegoat
1x E-Con/Card Destruction/Hand Destruction

Traps - 6
3x Limit Reverse
2x Spiritual Earth Art
1x TT

For the Slashes, opinions?

XCPetro: I don't see two Creature Swaps as being excessive at all. After all, I don't HAVE to use them just with Shining Angel. ;)

Pot of Avarice at two has been working just fine for me as well.

Yes, I've actually used Machine Dupe on Satellite Cannon before. :p I love the card itself, although it DOES seem to be the weak link of the deck... If I do take them out, though, it won't be for Nova Summoners. Most likely, a pair of Blue Thunders and an Honest.

*EDIT*
Sorry for not doing this earlier, but I typed the above on a PSP, which has a character limit for text entries. =\

Anyways, for your slashed cards, I would probably go with Sangan over Exiled Force, and either E.Con or Card Destruction. With Stardust still being quite popular, flat-out destruction isn't quite as useful, especially one that uses up your Normal Summon and leaves you open for attack (especially deadly in this era of any-turn OTKs). E.Con and Card Destruction both have their merits, but mostly I just do not like Hand Destruction. >_>

Yu-Gi-Oh! Champion Packs Orders Go Unfilled

Konami Fails to Release Product

North Las Vegas, NV (January 13, 2009) — Upper Deck regrets to announce that hobby tournament stores nationwide will not receive their orders of Yu-Gi-Oh! TRADING CARD GAME Champion Packs. Despite contractual obligations, Konami Digital Entertainment failed to send the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion Packs to Upper Deck for distribution to hobby stores.

Keeping the best interests of Yu-Gi-Oh! players and retailers in mind, Upper Deck has maintained business as usual during this uncertain time, fulfilling orders and shipping product to retailers so that Duelists can continue to enjoy the game. Unfortunately, Konami Digital has not released the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG Champion Packs to Upper Deck, despite having received the order on time several months ago, rendering Upper Deck unable to fill orders from hobby stores.

Upper Deck regrets that the Yu-Gi-Oh! community is being denied this product, but encourages players to continue to support their local hobby store. Please stay tuned to UDE.com for information about upcoming events.
