Well this cool guy called Excadrill got banned from OU so there was a sudden influx of teams that people didn't take their Excadrills off of. These teams usually had TTar on them. I think you can do the math at this point. Also note the sudden increase in Politoad usage(Thundurus likes rain)

Well, I'm not surprised at all by the current usage of rain team member. They're pretty easy to use and can wipe out the metagame if well played.

But to be honest, I didnt excepted that Sandteam'll be so high in usage, thanks to the many review and post about them. They'll probably drop next month or in a near futur.

Yeah, these stats just show how screwed up the Ubers ladder is, unfortunately. You can easily tell from most of these stats that a lot of them (eg Ferrothorn #2, Tyranitar #11, Excadrill #15, Thundurus #26, Dragonite #32) are the result of people still using their Stage 5 OU teams on the Ubers ladder because they are unaware of the bans. I would expect that Ferrothorn will fall next month because I haven't actually seen that many of them with offense picking back up, as will Tyranitar and Excadrill when people finally realise that Excadrill and Thundurus are banned.

I have to disagree with everyone hating on Ferro's usage. I rarely see a Kyogre anymore WITHOUT Ferrothorn. Its typing is great for this meta, walling many things unless they're falling things like HP Fire just for him (I call it the FerroPlague). When Palkia in rain uses Fire Blast > Aura Sphere for more then just when Groudon comes in means its making a huge impact.

It is no secret that the Ubers ladder on the Smogon PO server is in... disarray, for lack of a better term. Hopefully, some of the measures that the other Ubers mods and myself will be possibly employing will help remedy this.

However, it is not a complete surprise to me that Ferrothorn is occupying the number 2 slot. Groudon, despite always being near the top of usage, has been having less and less of a grasp on the number 2 slot over the past generation. While people may initially jump to the conclusion "why Ferrothorn of all pokemon? it's not even uber," I would direct you to the slot right above it, Kyogre. Ferrothorn and Kyogre are possibly the most sound defensive combination in terms of covering each others' weaknesses in Ubers history (arguably at least), so, especially with the increase in stall, or at least balanced teams, it is not surprising to me that Ferrothorn is stepping more into the limelight. Arceus, while obviously a potent threat, is divided up since it's essentially 17 different Pokemon, meaning that its usage is "split" so it can't rival Ferrothorn in this regard.

TL;DR - Ferrothorn being in the number 2 slot is a combination of the rise of Ubers stall and another testament to the sheer power/usage of Kyogre.

Also Terrakion's usage is probably hampered by Kyogre a bit because it has no way of OHKOing Kyogre. Giratina is highly underrated although Spikes hampered it quite a bit. It's funny Giratina's usage is higher than Giratina-O's. Also bulky Excadrill finally found his way into Ubers :D

Surprised to see Tentacruel, Skarm, and Chansey so low. I see a lot of Tenta and Chansey, and Skarmory is incredibly good in Ubers, especially paired with Dialga.

I realize Ferrothorn is good and just about everyone has one, but it's honestly beating out Mewtwo? I still view Mewtwo as one of the most powerful forces in the Ubers metagame; after a single CM boost, it can OHKO virtually anything in the metagame, and Psystrike hitting the weaker physical defense of most Ubers is just so much fun. It's also surprisingly sturdy. I dunno, from my point of view, the only good reason NOT to use Mewtwo is if you're going for some sort of hardcore stall.

We can even say that rain stall oriented can be effective even if the player isnt really good, which isnt the case of Mewtwo who need some mindgame to be effective.
