Offline Battle Tower teams

My team:

Azelf @ Wise Glasses
- Nasty Plot
- Psychic
- Flamethrower
- Grass Knot

Gallade @ Choice Band
- Close Combat
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut
- Leaf Blade

Kingdra @ Life Orb
- Rain Dance
- Surf
- Ice Beam
- Dragon Pulse

My best streak is to exactly after Palmer Nr. 2. Lost the first battle after that. Having said that, I haven't been to the tower often yet.

Swampert @ Leftovers
Ability: Torrent
Nature: Impish
EVs: 252 hp / 192 def / 64 atk
-Stealth Rock
-Avalanche
-Earthquake
-Stone-Edge

Standard really, I really like Swampert in OBT because it was too bulky for others to cope with.

Tyranitar @ Life Orb
Ability: Sandstream
Nature Adamant
EVs : 252 atk / 252 spd / hp
-Rock Slide
-Crunch
-Earthquake
-Dragon Dance

Sweep what I can after Pert.

Garchomp @ Choice Band
Ability: Sand Veil
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 atk / 252 spd / 4 hp
-Outrage
-Earthquake
-Stone Edge
-Crunch

This in Battle Tower is so awesome, I actually had a CBtar and this was a Yachee Berry SDer but I thought what the fuck.

My current record is 76 but I'm on 70 now and feel confident with this team. I'm coming Jumpman ;)

- Its a BS critical hit
- Blissey fainted.
- BS for the win.
(for the record if it wouldn't have been a critical hit Blissey would have survived with like 30 hp and won.)

Togekiss @ Sky Plate
Trait: Serene Grace
Nature: Sassy
EVs: 252 in special attack, 252 in speed, 6 hp
- AncientPower
- Air Slash
- Flamethrower
- Wish

Togekiss is a flincher Air Slash usually Koed in 2-3 hits the only problem was that Air Slash misses. Flamethrower was for steel types. The first time Togekiss got fainted was against the first tower tycoon.

Absol @ Razor Claw
Trait: Super Luck
Nature: Lax
EVs: 6 in HP, 252 in Attack, 252 in Speed
- Slash
- Sucker Punch
- Night Slash
- Psycho Cut

Absol was a Critical hitter, its only problem was steel types and usually 2 critical hits could take care of them.

Blissey @ Leftovers
Trait: Serene Grace
Nature: Naive
EVs: 252 in Defense , 252 in Special Defense, 6 in Hp
- Flamethrower
- Softboiled
- Double Team
- Toxic

Obviously Blissey was a wall. Flamethrower was for steel types and Toxic was for all others. The first time I had to send it out was battle 35.

Died on Battle 80

Weavile @ Focus Sash
Nature: Jolly (+Speed, -Sp.Atk)
EVs: 252 atk / 252 speed / 6 hp
- Swords Dance
- Brick Break
- Night Slash
- Ice Punch

Gengar @ Expert Belt
Nature: Modest (+Sp.Atk, -Atk)
EVs: 255 sp.atk / 255 speed (I screwed up my counting and didn't feel it was worth redoing the EVs for 4HP EVs)
- Hypnosis
- Shadow Ball
- Focus Blast
- Thunderbolt

Electivire @ Life Orb
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -Sp.Atk)
EVs: 252 atk / 252 speed / 6 hp
- Earthquake
- Thunderpunch
- Ice Punch
- Cross Chop

I was a little surprised this team did as well as it did. They just happened to be the first three competitive pokemon I had ready.

I had some close calls against a Gyarados, an Aggron (Quick claw kicked in twice), an Infernape, and a Metagross (another Quick claw).

I think I made a couple of mistakes in the last battle that let a Heracross and Kingdra take me down.

oh well, I needed 5 more wins to beat TRE´s record and give Jumpman a reason to continue, damn :/

my record is 173 wins

starmie @ life orb (timid, IVs: 27/x/28/31/24/31, 42HP, 252sA, 216 speed)
- thunderbolt
- ice beam
- surf
- psychic

-> my starmie from advance, with the experienced from many battle frontier runs, didn´t let me down in DP either; max speed would be maybe a bit better as this 352speed one can tie with 350speed ones at lv.50, outspeeding things was never an issue, though (still not sure how the tower IVs/EVs are decided, tried to write down damages and calc. stats before but no conclusion yet)
-> timid LO > modest expert belt, surf is the most used attack by far and I would miss important 2HKOs on dangerous neutral things without it, although I understand that in the starmie-ttar-chomp well designed team jumpman used sandstorm+LO would kill starmie too fast

garchomp @ yache berry (female, jolly, IVs: 29/31/31/9/31/31, 252 atck, 6sD, 252speed)
- fire fang
- swords dance
- earthquake
- outrage

-> bred this on tuesday, saved my butt in many critical situations, turned a 1-3 score once when it survived an ursaring quake with 1 HP (my heart almost stopped beating at the moment), luv you sweetie

snorlax @ leftovers (male, careful, thick fat, IVs - 30/31/29/x/31/28, 252 HP, 252 sD, 6 speed?)
- body slam
- crunch
- curse
- rest

-> I found this guy in a box and was surprised how good its IVs were - this was my first trained snorlax in advance and I almost forgot I had it; it worked extremely well for me in this run; it got a lot of play-time as the most frequent starters against starmie are psychic types, it takes focus blast like a man (which ttar can´t) and...well everyone knows what a force curselax is
-> body slam was a very reliable attack and it helped in a lot of circumstances, return is also a viable option, also brick break but lax can take on those OHKO move-less rocks/steels even without it
-> I´d slightly change the EVs to have a bit more defense (not much), to survive 2 physical 120 BP grass moves from tangrowth and abomasnow in a row, because they are very dangerous (although I learned to stay and sacrifice starmie to ice beam/psychic)

I lost battle #174 to a lucky but well played tangrowth, which started in both battle #173 and #174 although I haven´t met it once in 172 battles before

R1: QC power whip #1, starmie fainted - not good
- dmg calced chomp outrage, if I don´t do min damage twice it should 2HKO
R2: outrage 51%, sleep powder #1 hit
R3: QC power whip #2 hit, CH, garchomp fainted - oh well, fck
R4: sleep powder #2 hit, snorlax fast asleep
R5: power whip #3 hit (around 50%, according to my calc. does 46-54%), snorlax woke up, curse
R6: sleep powder #3 hit, snorlax fast asleep
R7: power whip #4 hit, snorlax fast asleep
R8: power whip, snorlax fainted

Swellow@Flame Orb

Jolly, 252 atk/252 spd/4 hp

Brave Bird
Facade
U-Turn
Protect

Protect to scout and activate Guts, then begin the rape. Can OHKO most things with a Guts-boosted STAB'd Facade, and U-Turn is for things she really can't handle. Fears rocks/steels and Intimidate annoys me.

Gengar@Wide Lens

Timid, 252 sp.atk/252 spd/4 hp

Shadow Ball
Thunderbolt
Focus Blast
Hypnosis

This is my go-to guy if Swellow doesn't like what she's facing. I was going to use Weavile when I realised that I'll be U-Turning it into rock and steel attacks that would OHKO the bloody thing. Ah well.

Cresselia@Leftovers

Calm, 252 hp/252 sp. def/4 sp. atk

Charge Beam
Ice Beam
Sleep Talk
Rest

If I had a penny for every time this girl saved my ass, I'd have £5.27. Sleep-talking while raising special attack with pseudo-boltbeam type coverage is amazingly hot.

When I'm feeling cautious, I switch Gengar out with:

Bronzong@Life Orb

Relaxed, 252 hp/152 atk/8 def/98 sp. def

Gyro Ball
Earthquake
Hypnosis
Explosion

Stall/asplode, fairly simple.

Breloom @ Toxic Orb
Trait: Poison Heal
Nature: Jolly (+Spd, -SpAtk)
EVs: 252Atk, 252Spd
31 Spd IV
- Spore
- Substitute
- Focus Punch
- Seed Bomb

Built this team because I've always loved Breloom. Until using him in battle tower, didn't realize how much better he is over advance. Sleep speaks for itself and really avoids a lot of the BS in the tower. Poison Heal makes him virtually immune to status, another big part of tower hax. Was running a straight sporepuncher, and had Stone Edge over Sub. Big mistake. Too many 1 turn sleeps to get in the FP. Sub is really needed here. This guy went 3-0 in 24 of the first 28 battles. Gets tough in later rounds, because even Jolly with that sexy speed IV, he gets outrun by lots of stuff and really can't take a shot.

Gengar @ Expert Belt
Trait: Levitate
Nature: Timid (+Spd, -Atk)
EVs: 252SpA, 252Spd
- Shadow Ball
- Thunderbolt
- Focus Blast
- Hypnosis

I needed a fast special sweeper and also wanted some OHKO hax protection. Gengar fit the bill pretty well. Hypnosis missed way too much, but if you've been reading this thread, that comes as no surpise. I really questioned Focus Blast, but it sure came in handy a lot.

Metagross @ Leftovers
Trait: Clear Body
Nature: Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
EVs: 252Atk, ?HP, ?Spd (i don't remember exactly)
- Earthquake
- Thunder Punch
- Meteor Mash
- Explosion

Covers Breloom fairly well. Easy switch in. I used TPunch way more than I thought I would. MMash missed more than it hit.

It's easy to see the glaring weakness on this team - Fire. Tried to use Gengar's speed and hypnosis as an all-purpose cover move. It worked some, but too unreliable in the BT. As I got into the 40's, I realized that shroom-sleep wouldn't dominate for long. Here's what did me in:

46th Battle
Manectric outsped me and used Flamethrower on my Breloom. Didn't expect fire, normally 'Loom eats up electrics. Sent in Gengar and hoped to hit with Hypnosis. It hit and I followed with a Shadow Ball doing about 85% to the thunderdog. The next Shadow Ball missed on brightpowder hax. The dog woke up immediately (1 turn of sleep, typical) and fainted Gengar with a CH Tbolt. Sucks hard since Gengar could've taken a non-CH. I knew 'Gross could take an unstabbed Flamethrower. Unfortunately, it can't take a CH Flamethrower -- which is what the dog landed. Done in by miss-hax and consecutive CH's by a freaking Manectric!

Oh well, the real problem was that I was fire weak from the beginning. I also didn't have a good answer for dragons, I just didn't get far enough to see too many of them.

I'm going to try one more time with Starmie instead of Gengar. And, I'm putting Bullet Punch over Explosion on my Metagross. I wanted to make these changes before going into that last round, but I figured I'd play out the team as far as it would go. If this next team can't go pretty far, I'll probably go with a Garchomp-based team, who seems to be a consensus all-star in the Tower. I just hate him, since he's so much better than Flygon, who's one of my all-time faves.

EDIT: With Starmie instead of Gengar, only got to 43. Also tried with Jumpman's team and only made it to 42. That last round before Palmer is a real bitch! Hax galore. Does it get easier after that?

Record 70 wins:

Breloom, Jolly, w/ Focus Sash
-Spore
-Focus Punch
-Seed Bomb
-Stone Edge

Milotic, Bold, w/ Leftovers
-Surf
-Ice Beam
-Recover
-Toxic

Metagross, Adamant, w/ Leftovers
-Meteor Mash
-Earthquake
-Zen Headbutt
-Explosion

Lost on battle 71 to a Zapdos that swept my entire team without a minor scratch.

-Zapdos vs. Breloom
-Zapdos uses Drill Peck
-Breloom sashes and spores
-Zapdos is faster and immediatley wakes and kills me before i could stone edge it
-send out metagross
-zapdo rain dances
-metagross uses zen headbutt for minor damage
-zapdos uses thunder
-metagross uses zen headbutt for still minor damage
-zapdos kills w/ thunder
-send milotic
-zapdos uses thunder
-GG

Breloom w/ Focus Sash almost guarantees an auto sleep unless if struck by a faster sleeper, and this thing is somehow gets more and more unreliable with every time since ppl immediatel wake right after the spore and kill it

Milotic is a solid wall, mainly killing with surf or toxic/recover stall and that occasional garchomp/salamence that i ice beam

metagross, well rounded, pursuit isnt that useful in normal battle tower and standard set, explosion kills almost anything

Well I don't think that's possible.

In D/P i've never seen a pogey not sleeping ONE turn.

So if you spore him and are slower, he will sleep one turn. Maybe u missed stone edge and don't recall it.

I don't know ur metagross IVs but zen headbutt from an adamant metagross is like 3HKO on a defensive zapdos...

As for me I went with my team in game so shitty EVs and IVs and got to batlle 60 or so (didn't saw the tycoon twice)

new team, got to 43 though....lol

Starmie@ Focus Sash
TImid
40 hp, 212 spd, 252 sp.atk
Surf
Ice Beam
T-bolt
Rapid Spin

this is my Wi-Fi Starmie, but it does whoop a lot of stuff, yet it 2HKO's a LOT Of crap(most stuff><), but i could give it Life Orb/Wisdomglasses/Expert Belt- but then it loses the Survivability battle.

Heatran@ Expert Belt
Timid
Scarfran Ev's
Flamethrower
Explosion
Dragon Pulse
Earth Power

even with the nature reduction, whenever i started with this thing, it would usually kill the first two, then Explode on the last one, the only thing that didn't die was a Weezing... but that's different. Love this thing, used Choice Scarf until a Porygon2 with COnversion2 completely walled, then owned it when it was my last poke ><(Choice Scarfed Dragon Pulse fails on Steel typed porygon2.....)

however the third one changes between these 2-

Machamp@Salac Berry
Adamant
200+Atk, 200+Hp, rest in def(forgot)
EQ
Brick Break
Ice Punch
Thunder Punch

Guts>No GUard. this thing I like, seeing as without it, all I have against blissey is Explosion/Leech Seed. This thing has proven it's Guts, as it's looked about 3 fissures in a row and....still took 10 min to beat a Rest/Fissure/Amnesia/? Whiscash, since it 3HKOed it with Max damage needed twice I think, and it would wake up on the third one and rest again(it was faster)

Or- my DTmer killer-

Ludicolo@ Big Root
Calm
forgot, it's for Calm RD set though
ENergy Ball
Leech Seed
Surf
Ice Beam

Leech Seeds first turn unless it can OHKO the poke, then attacks. Owns all DTmers, as Leech Seed will NOT be Denied.

.....I thought I had been invincible, having endured many attempts on their lives, from Heatran's Hitting itself 5 times in a row, then KOing a Grumpig with 24hp left, to Starmie taking a Gullotine, surviving then KOing the poke with T-bolts(though the second time it met the gallows, its focus sash could not save it.), having all sorts of luck against Dtmers(shuddered at the Toxic/DT/Sub/Sandstorm @ Leftovers Shuckle), leaping all over fissures and gullotines, and even a few horns, as well as overcoming sleeping potions galore. until I met him, this guy who walked in, all tough as he throws out a ball with his Gardevior(yeah I lost to a Mono Psychic dude)

battle-
Turn 1-
Starmie- Surf....(found that it was 3HKOed by it)
Gardevior- T-bolt, Focus sash saved Starmie
Starmie-Surf, garde with like 3 hp
Gardevior-T-bolt-KO
Ludicolo-Surf-KO Gardevior(it was pretty slow)
Esypeon, was then sent out, and Calmed it's Mind
Ludicolo-Leech Seed
Esypeon-Psychic
Ludicolo-SUrf
Esypeon-Psychic-KO Ludcolo
I sweated, concerned on what was goin to happen with my Heatran.
Esypeon-Psychic
Heatran-Flamethrower...It Burned it.....
Esypeon-Psychic...but it was a CH><
Heatran-Flamethrower, then seeds + burn KOed it

to sum it up, next was a Hypno, who again CH's my Heatran, leaving it with 24 Hp after a Super Effective Brick Break. Knowing that without a Critical Hit that I was not going to win, figured that I could get by with blowing up, seeing as the computer would get the win in that situation if they blew up on me. I did it, crashed and burned, and although I was declared the loser, I figured that to go out in a tie was better than a loss(got to 28 the last time b/c of the evil Pory2 with Tri-Attack/Recover/Conversion 2/?)
so technically my record in my beggining of the Battle tower in my new game is 70-1-1, or 70-2 as the game would call it

I have never got to palmer Rd.2 yet however...lol

Metagross@Occa Berry
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 Atk, 129 HP, 129 SDef
Trait: Clear Body
- Earthquake
- Meteor Mash
- Thunderpunch
- Agility

This is a beast. Agility up first, Occa Berry keeps it alive against Fire attacks and seems to be somewhat of a deterrent. Surprisingly enough, most Fires come in late, after Metagross has already sped up, and die to EQ. Among the surprise Fire attacks have been Tyranitar and Rhydon, the latter of which I cringe at (EQ would have done 70%, while FT only did about 25%.

Thunderpunch is for the insidious waters that try to ruin Metagross' fun. Major problems include status (Hypnosis ruins everything, Burn ruins attack, paralysis ruins the Agility) and the odd Pokemon that resists all of his attacks (Rotom and the three Water/Grounds). Grass/Poisons may also make life a bit tough for him as well.

Latios@Expert Belt
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 SATk, 252 Spd, 6 HP
Trait: Levitate
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Recover
- Calm Mind

Expert Belt replaces the old Lum Berry. Works well, especially when dealing with Pokemon that Metagross has a hard time with (such as Skarmory, Cloyster, Aerodactyl). I usually switch him in when I know Flamethrower or Earthquake is coming, and when I need the special side to take out a physical wall.

Smeargle@Quick Claw
Nature: Jolly
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Spd, 6 whatever
Trait: Own Tempo
- Spore
- Mind Reader
- Substitute
- Sheer Cold

Incredbily fragile and hard to use. If QC doesn't activate, it's dead. Early Bird, Insomnia, and Sturdy ruin it as well. Very hard to switch into, so I should probably lead with it, but I use it only in an emergency (i.e. there's a Double Teaming bastard) or when my attacks aren't getting the job done fast enough. I use him because I don't have anything better at the moment.

I've gotten up to 36 and 34 rooms with this team. The first time, Focus Blast hit twice. Latios took the first Focus Blast and got hit by Gengar's Shadow Ball. Smeragle of course died to Focus Blast. Metagross didn't wake up in time to kill Gengar. The second time, I faced off against the three Water/Grounds (Quagsire, Swampert, and Gastrodon). Smeargle died from two Waterfalls thanks to a one-turn sleep. Metagross was severely hurt. Latios died to Swampert's Ice Beam. I'm going to try to get aznpride's Timid Latios...

Hi, died at battle 96 here =/

LEAD: Porygon-Z@Wise Glasses
Nature: Modest
EVs: 252 spatk, 252 speed, 6 hp
Trait: Adaptability
- Tri Attack
- Dark Pulse
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt

Not a lot of things actually outran this, I believe +speed natures in the Battle Tower are mostly useless. I could go for easy OHKOs with him and sometimes won battles in 3 turns.

Medicham@Choice Scarf
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 atk, 252 speed, 6 hp
- Psycho Cut
- Brick Break
- Ice Punch
- Thunder Punch

Fast, powerful. Kills the thing that killed Porygon-Z, mostly 3rd pokemon.

Tyranitar@Leftovers
Nature: Adamant
EVs: 252 atk, 252 speed, 6 hp
- Dragon Dance
- Stone Edge
- Earthquake
- Crunch

Standard DDtar. He helped me win a couple of games, but he could easily be switched him for another pokemon. Maybe Weavile with Choice Band could be an interesting case.

So basically, I've kept it simple and tried to sweep all the time. I lost because of a friggin Porygon2 that froze Medicham and Tyranitar with 2 Ice beams. I was so close to having 100 victories too =(

I stopped after battle 105 using a starmie/DD-tar/scarfchomp team pretty similar to the one already mentioned. Too similar to make the details very interesting, I think.

Starmie is really what makes the team work. It isn't the only pokémon that can sweep most of the battle tower by itself, but it's among the very few that can recover from status effects. You have to assume that in the time it takes to defeat 300+ enemy pokémon you're going to end up getting a nasty status somewhere along the way. Natural cure prevents the AI's luck from causing an upset.

All starmie needs are a couple buddies that can take electric, ghost, and dark attacks in stride. Grass attacks usually won't OHKO starmie since the more powerful grass attackers are themselves OHKO'd by starmie's ice beam. Similarly, powerful bug attackers generally have a second type that starmie can prey upon (i.e. bolt/beam vs. flying and psychic vs. fighting/poison) and the remaining bugs won't be able to finish starmie off in time to save themselves. Starmie blasts everything it sees until electric/ghost/dark attacks loom and then it switches out to something that shrugs off such assaults. It's pretty neat.

I can go to 70 Straight (Still can continue) with this

Garchomp@Life Orb
Jolly Nature 252 Attack 252 Speed 6 Hp
Outrage
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Fire Fang

My Lead, It beats many things before died. Unless a strong Ice Beamer lead, I will never switch. If I met a strong Ice beamer that is not lead then I will just Outrage to deals lots of damage then died.

Milotic@Leftovers
Modest Nature 252 Hp 252 SpAtk 6 Speed
Ice Beam
Surf
Recover
Mirror Coat

Comes into a strong Ice Beamer and nullify it by Leftovers. It can take a lot of Physical attack due to strong Typing and HP. No doubt about Special Tanking, though. Many SpAtk investment made it kills many things. Mirror Coat for Starmie's Thunderbolt if I don't want to risk switching into this...

Electivire@Focus Sash
Adamant Nature 252 Attack 200 Speed 58 Hp (Not sure about this, Maybe less speed)
ThunderPunch
Ice Punch
Earthquake
Cross Chop

Absorbs Thunderbolt from things like Starmie, or Thunderpunch from fellow Electivire. It can take one huge hit due to Focus Sash. It kills many thing, useful when it is the last pokemon. It OHKOs dangerous things like Starmie, Gengar, and fellow Electivire because it outspeeds and kill it due to Motor Drive. Even without Motor Drive it will hit hard (and saved by Sash) and kills back with a powerful attack, just hope that next poke is slow one that it can damage first.

Well here, IMO speed is important that's why I use two fast sweeper. The other thing is Choice Item lacks Vertility when it's lead, and may made you lost battle due to locked into one stupid move when you're not using it on lead. Sash is important for last pokemon. This team is fun to use, but I'm just afraid to continue because I lacks luck.

I died in battle 43, and would like some advice on how I could have won, since I didn't really get screwed by hax. I've taken several teams into the tower, but I always die in the early 40's. Sometimes it's hax, but sometimes it's like the scenario below. I would like to know if I'm doing something wrong, or just getting unlucky matchups.

I was running with an exact copy of Jumpman's team posted here:

http://www.smogon.com/forums/showpost.php?p=531763&postcount=135

Starmie, DDTar, and Garchomp. All my pokemon are bred very well, with perfect or near-perfect IV's in all the right spots. I'll post this in warstory form, with running strategy commentary. I'll guess the damage percentages, based on memory. Here's how it went down:

I send out Starmie
Opponent sends out Togekiss

I have the list of all pokemon in the tower and I know one of the Tokekiss carries Shadow Ball. I also know it could have Aura Sphere, so I don't want to send out Tyranitar to try and setup with DD, until I figure out which one this is. Garchomp is a safe switch, but he doesn't have an SE move and I don't like using Outrage early on since he'll just get confused. I try to save him for the last one or two, if possible. I'll leave in Starmie and TBolt, which should do a lot, but not KO without a CH. Even if it Shadow Ball's me, I can take it since it doesn't get STAB. Hopefully no CH for the AI..

Starmie used Thunderbolt!
It's super effective!
(~90% damage)
Togekiss used Shadow Ball!
It's super effective!
(~80% damage)

Dammit. I was really hoping it wasn't the SB Togekiss. Oh well, Starmie will take this out with another TBolt and will likely put a big dent in the next poke, if not OHKO. Normally, DDTar and Garchomp should be able to take out 1.5 pokes, right?

Starmie used Thunderbolt!
It's super effective!
(Togekiss fainted)
Opponent sends out Lickylicky

Dammit again. I hate these bulky Normals! They are all over the tower. I don't have a fighting move on my team and these big fat fucks are bitch to take down. Licky's come with lots of moves in the tower. One of 'em has Ice Beam which murders my Garchomp. Two of them have EQ, which isn't great for DDTar. Since I can't really switch and setup, I'll just dent it while sacrificing Starmie and slug it out with DDTar. If it's a real problem for Tar, at least it will get sandstream up, I'll switch and I might get lucky with Sand Veil on Chomp.

Lickylicky used Body Slam!
(Starmie fainted)

Goddamn Quick Claw! That sucks. This thing is going to be tough. It has EQ, which will 2-3 hit KO my DDTar. This fat-ass has a boatload of HP and it will probably take 3 hits for DDTar to kill it. I'm also worried about it exploding. Tar can take the explosion since he resists it, but Garchomp will take massive damage, if not KO'd. I don't want to use Garchomp just yet, since I have another poke to go. I'll just chop away with DDTar, and then finish off with Outrage from Chomp. Hopefully, the second Outrage will KO the remaining poke, or maybe I'll even get a third Outrage hit (never happens in the tower, though).

I sent out Tyranitar.
Sandstream starts.
Tyranitar used Crunch!
(~43% Damage to Lickylicky)
Lickylicky used Earthquake!
It's super effective!
(~55% Damage to Tyranitar)
Sandstream damage to Lickylicky.

Even with sandstream, the Licky can take another Crunch and it's gonna shove another quake up my ass. Oh well, let's hope something good happens with Garchomp after DDTar takes one for the team..

Tyranitar used Crunch!
(~43% Damage to Licklicky)
Lickylicky used Earthquake!
It's super effective!
(Tyranitar fainted)
I send in Garchomp.
Sandstream damage to Lickylicky.

Garchomp used Outrage!
(Lickylicky fainted)
Opponent sent out Snorlax.
Garchomp used Outrage!
(~40% damage to Snorlax)
Snorlax use Curse!
Attack boost, Defense boost, Speed drop for Lax.
Garchomp became confused due to fatigue.
Sandstream damage to Snorlax.

Fuck me again. Another goddamn bulky Normal! Now I'm confused, Lax has a curse under his belt, it can Chesto-Rest at any time, and I'm totally screwed without a CH or a lot of sandstream evasion hax.

Garchomp used Outrage!
Hit itself in confusion.
Snorlax used Return
(~85% damage to Garchomp)
Garchomp used Outrage!
Hit itself in confusion.
Snorlax used Rest.
(Snorlax fully healed)
Chesto Berry woke it up.
Garchomp used Outrage!
(~30% damage to Snorlax)
Snorlax used Return!
(Garchomp fainted)

There it is. I got a few bad breaks, but not exceptionally bad luck. I don't really know what I did wrong here. Should I have switched out Starmie at the beginning? Should I have brought in Chomp against Lickylicky? Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah, I think I switch Tyranitar straight up into Licky because I feel Tyrantiar is the most expendable pokemon on our team. Starmie would still have the ability to take a licky with very low HP, and when snorlax comes out I gladly surf and let lax do whatever. Gives Garchomp a better chance to sweep with Outrage or even EQ if I don't want to risk confusion, depending on whether Lax Cursed in Starmie's face or not.

Hi guys, I'm new and I'm trying to get to 100 wins with Jumpman's team... by far my record is 44.. I really hate the BT.
Last time I lost by like 35 in this way:

I send out Starmie.
Opponent sends out Bronzong
(I hate those... I didn't want to use Garchomp because Gyro Ball would have done a lot of damages and my Fire Fang wont OHKO him...)

Starmie used Surf.
(65-70% damage)
Bronzong used Trick Room.

Bronzong used Gyro Ball.
(40-45% damage)
Starmie used Thunderbolt.
(20-25% damage)
(WHAT? Just 25? Fuck this Bronzong!)
Bronzong is paralysed. (Meh... )

Opponent calls Bronzong back and sends out Luxray.
Starmie used Surf.
(60% damage, more or less)

Ok, now... he sends out an electric, so logic says I should use Garchomp, right? And that's exactly what I did.

I send out Garchomp.
Luxray used ICE FANG!
(WHAT? He used ICE FANG against a Starmie, instead of an electric move? WTF??)
(65-70% damage)
Luxray was quicker due to Trick Room and used Ice Fang again.
Garchomp fainted.

I send out Tyra.
Sandstream starts, etc..
Luxray was quicker again and used Thunder Wave.
Tyra is paralysed.
Trick Room vanishes.
Tyra used EQ
(luckily..)
Luxray fainted (Yeah, AT LAST...!)

Opponent sends out Bronzong. (So wow, both are paralysed...)
Tyra used Crunch.
Bronzong fainted. (Well, not bad, maybe I can still win...)

Opponent sends out Gardevoir. (No, I can't win.)

Gardevoir used Focus Blast.
Tyra fainted.

Now, let's see... who survived? Yeah, Starmie!

I send out Starmie.
Starmie used Surf.
(60% damage)
Gardevoir used Thunderbolt.
Starmie fainted.
My DS fainted 'cause I threw it against the wall.

Damn... I hate the battle tower.
Some suggestions? Maybe should I've used Tyra against Luxray instead of Garchomp? But how could he know I was about to change? BT is full of cheaters...
