"Great job Stonestrike! Now then, this Monferno might be able to dish out some solid damage, but it can't take hits well at all! Start with a Dig, then follow up with an Drill Run! Finish off with another Dig! If he uses Dig action 2, then use Earthquake if you aren't tormented and Counter if you are!"

Summary:
Dig -> Drill Run -> Dig
If he uses Dig A2 and you aren't tormented use Earthquake
If he uses Dig A2 and you are tormented use Counter

"Its going to hurt girl, but I think the best strategy here is just to take the hits and respond with some strong ones of our own.. If my calculations are correct then it should leave us strong enough to take the mammoth down too."

"Well, I was feeling mighty confident here until I saw Endure in the Swine's movepool. Never mind little my little monkey, I think I have a way around even that.."

Mach Punch + Close Combat > Cooldown (Low Sweep) > Low Sweep
IF
Endure is ordered action 1 THEN change actions to Slack Off > Fake Out > Slack Off
IF Protect is ordered action 1 AND Endure is not ordered action two THEN use Slack Off action 1 and push actions back HOWEVER IF he does order Protect > Endure THEN proceed with actions as per the first substitution

I've seen tiered substitutions considerably worse than this reffed as legal so while I'm probably pushing the boundaries I don't think I'm breaking them.

IF Protect is ordered action 1 AND Endure is not ordered action two THEN use Slack Off action 1 and push actions back
This is one sub.
HOWEVER IF he does order Protect > Endure THEN proceed with actions as per the first substitution
This is another sub.

<&Alchemator> if it's a one-sub match then only
<&Alchemator> "IF Protect is ordered action 1 AND Endure is not ordered action two THEN use Slack Off action 1 and push actions back"
<&Alchemator> is valid

It's two subs so I'm guessing that the first sub (the plain Endure sub) and the one mentioned by Alchemator are valid.

"Let's do this! Protect then Endure, then finish him off with an Earthquake!"

Summary:
Protect -> Endure -> Earthquake

Regardless of whether or not this works out, GG deadfox. Was a great match!

Oh god, "Athenodoros-Style" subs have made it into this match...That is, you can theoretically make one sub & create a lot of conditionals on it, yet it would still count as one sub, since those conditionals were still based off the one move; Because of a loophole in the Attack Substitution rules, which renders such subs as legal.
What deadfox081 is saying is, in a clearer way...
IF Protect A1...

  • IF it is followed A2 by Endure, THEN change actions to Slack Off > Fake Out > Slack Off
  • Otherwise, THEN Slack Off action 1 and push actions back
Sorry Flamestrike. But since you made your actions based on the abve sub being 2 separate subs, I'll be nice & let you reorder.

I'm kinda curious as to where this "loophole" is.
For each of their Pokemon, a Player acting first may create a Substitution based on one or more specific Attack or Command the opponent can issue and Substitute their called Actions. This conditional can only be triggered by one of the opponent's Actions, however it may apply to multiple consecutive Actions for the trainer's Pokemon in that round. Battlers may also use "Substitution Classes" to have the same effect but cover a wider breadth of moves:

[list of sub classes blah]
I'm not changing my actions either way; if deadfox's subs work then my only hope is like 3 misses in a row thanks to Mud-Slap and I don't really feel like extending this match any longer. But I'd really like to settle this substitution stuff once and for all, so ref it however you feel is right and I'll bring this up in the Feedback thread so we can get an answer from Deck/SDS on it for the future.

Basically, It doesn't stop one from tagging extra conditionals, which makes this possible in the first place. Blame Athenodoros for starting it all, I'm only being consistent with other ref's handling of such subs, which, iirc, they have considered to be 1 sub. I cannot impress everyone.

Real sorry for the match to end with a situation like this Flamestrike, it's been a pleasure and I really think this match (with IARs reffing) should stand as evidence that not only can 6v6 matches work but they are really fun. Lots of swings and roundabouts here and it was a Great Game indeed.
