Smogon's VGC 2011 Tournament Round 1

Welcome to Smogon's first annual official VGC tournament. Since this is an official tournament, that means you can win a trophy for your profile, and all the glory and prestige that comes with it. This is the beginning of a tradition on Smogon, we will continue these tournaments every year with the new ruleset. This is the perfect opportunity to prepare against top level opponents for the real thing, or try your hand at VGC if you can't make it to one of Nintendo's events.

How to Join or Host a Tournament

Rules

• This tournament will be played on Pokemon Onlinewww.pokemon-online.eu
• Matches are best two out of three
• Games are 4v4 doubles.
• Your roster should consist of 6 different Pokemon, and 6 different Items, but only 4 Pokemon are used in each game, the other 2 are to switch in between games of the best 2 of 3 match.
• You are not allowed to switch Evs or Moveset or anything other than order of Pokemon and what Pokemon is holding which items, between games of a best 2 of 3.
• Only Pokemon numbering between 495-642 and number 645 in the national dex, are allowed.
• Team preview will be turned off
• Species Clause
• Item Clause
• Self-KO Clause
• The move "Sky Drop" is banned
• Unavailable Dreamworld abilities are banned
• Unavailable items are banned

You need to submit teams for this tournament --- Please do not submit by PM, read the next paragraph

Please submit your full six Pokemon roster to me here. Please simply use the export to text feature in PO, don't change up the formatting because that just makes it harder for me. You can check here to see what users have submitted their teams. Please don't play your match unless both you and your opponent have submitted teams. If you are suspicious that your opponent swapped their team between games of the best 2 of 3, please pm me the log and I will check. Please don't submit a team under someone else's name, penalties for that will be harsh. Please do not submit partial teams, if you only submit for mons you can only use four mons. If you need to resubmit, please pm me and I will delete the old submission.

Any uncompleted matches will be determined by activity or coinflip, to determine activity I will mainly be stalking Visitor Message conversations. The best way to assure yourself an activity win, if your match isn't completed, is to as soon as you finish reading this, go VM your opponent with explicitly what times you can play, and what timezone you are in. You can see your timezone in relation to GMT at the bottom of any page on Smogon. Then, reply promptly to any VMs your opponent leaves you, and try to work out a specific time that is workable for both of you. Do not try and just wait until your opponent is online to message them the first time. If your opponent doesn't reply to you in a reasonable amount of time, like by next Sunday, post in this thread, and I will try to find a substitute. Good Luck.



The round will last for 2 weeks and end April 24th at 12:00 AM GMT -5, which is US Central.

To make up for the downtime, the deadline is now May 1st.
