NFLPPC 2012 Winners: ShakeItUp and AndViet!

Thirty-two teams have been whittled down to twelve; it's time for the NFL Playoff Predictions Challenge!

However, to make things more interesting, I've decided to add a small twist to the predictions. Rather than just a single competition, this year's challenge will be split into two separate challenges! ...In other words, the fun has been doubled.

But first, the general rules:

The Rules said:
1. Due to the short nature of this competition, late entries will not be accepted.
2. Failure to submit a prediction by gametime will result in a forfeit of that game: no exceptions. If the game kicks off at 1:00 EST and you submit at 1:02 EST, tough shit.
3. In addition to this, any edits to posts after the first games kick off will result in the forfeiting of all prior games. If you make your guesses for the saturday games and sunday games in the same post, then decide to edit your sunday afternoon pick on sunday morning by editing that post, you will be given losses for the two saturday games. Instead, make a new post with your changed picks.
4. Do NOT get into discussions/debates with other peoples' picks. No flaming, no bashing, no "omg why did you pick them" etc. Tips are OK, but it's preferable to keep them in the NFL discussion thread instead.
Part 1:
Exactly like the weekly predictions challenge, you will choose winners for each game the week of those games.

Divisional Schedule:
New Orleans @ San Francisco
Denver @ New England
Houston @ Baltimore
NY Giants @ Green Bay

Example of the format:
Cincinnati @ Houston
Detroit @ New Orleans
Atlanta @ NY Giants
Pittsburgh @ Denver

Part 2:
Rather than waiting the week of to make each pick, you will make the picks for the entire playoffs right now! Point system is yet to be finalized, but at the moment it is simply one point per win.

Note that it does not matter who you pick each team to beat; only the winners of each game matter. Regardless of whether you picked the Packers to beat the Giants or the Lions in the divisional round, if you picked them and they win you will be awarded one point.

Please be very careful of seeding: in the second round, the #1 seed will face the LOWEST remaining seed, while the #2 seed will face the HIGHEST remaining seed (not counting the #1 ofc).

I made those picks based on regular season performances and mostly because I believe the Saints are a hell of a lot better suited to beat the Giants than the Packers are. Personally I think the Giants will beat the Packers in Green Bay because of their pass rush, offense that can exploit GB as they did earlier and because they travel better than they play at home. (They also have a much better running game for cold weather regardless of what statistics tell you).

Saints on the other hand have speedy sproles and jimmy gram (grahm???) who are matchup nightmares for the Giants weak linebacking core and they take away from the Giants Pass Rush abilities which leads me to believe the Saints will most likely beat the Giants at the superdome.

but anyway my picks are subject to change i just dont want to forget and have nothing
(aka i may just go homer idk yet)

I'm definitely in this, but I'm going to wait until we get closer to the games. Gotta check those injury reports, donchaknow.

I love the format, but the only thing that sucks about it is one huge injury could derail the entire thing. If I pick a team to win the Super Bowl and their starting QB breaks his leg on their first play... ugh.

Damn, I hope no one gets injured.

You remember in one of those back to the futures where the guy goes into the future and picks up a copy of a Sports Scores book and comes back to the present and makes crazy picks and wins millions of dollars and starts doing the guys mother? Remember that?

Well, thats me. GG everyone.

defending co-champion in to win again (probably not on this, but will on the actual picks do not worry :D)

Saints>Lions
Falcons>Giants
Steelers>Broncos
Texans>Bengals

Saints>49ers
Packers>Falcons
Patriots>Steelers
Ravens>Texans

Ravens>Patriots
Saints>Packers

Ravens>Saints

The teams that are definitely not making the Super Bowl are the Bengals, Giants, and Broncos (all extremely untalented teams). I had to vote out Texans round 1 since Jake Delhomme might end that game within 10 minutes. The rest pretty much speaks for itself. Every other team can win the Super Bowl, so pick what you like.

EDIT: mixed this crap up because T.J. Yates is starting which changes the entire playoffs. No Jake Delhomme definitely murdering the Texans...even if Yates is playing with a separated shoulder Jake Delhomme is not going to be around to commit 3 turnovers in the first half. All righttttt.
