Arena: Kanto Power Plant

An abandoned power plant in eastern Kanto, where Zapdos is said to reside. Since there is a lot of static electricity in the air, Electric attacks require less energy to cast, meaning all Electric-type moves cost 1 less energy point to use. Zapdos may occasionally (10% chance after each round) appear and use Drill Peck on one of the combatants. (Note to ref: To aid calculations, assume Zapdos' attack is **. Factor in STAB and type advantage/disadvantage as normal.)

So...who's up for it? (Remember, basic stage evos only, please!)

LETTING THE BATTLE BEGIN!

Ok, c'mon out Bella Luna the Nohface! Start us off with a strong Will"O"Wisp, and then follow with a quick Leer. Then finish with a strong Faint Attack. Now if Will"O"Wisp fails at any time use it again until it hits, and if Zapdos appears Shadow Sneak behind Fischer so he takes the damage!

Will"O"Wisp-Leer-Faint Attack

If Will"O"Wisp fails continue to use it
If Zapdos appears use Fischer as cover by Shadow Sneaking

Okay then Fischer! Try a Scary Face to startle Nohface into missing with Will-o-Wisp, then follow up with a quick Torment to keep it from repeating Will-o-Wisp! Finish with a Metal Claw!

"After my incredibly lazy opening, let us begin!

Galladiator begins by sending out a Pawniard, as Solstice responds with a Nohface. The two Steel-types stare each other down-but whereas Fischer the Pawniard seems to have kept staring, in an almost frightening manner, Bella Luna the Nohface is frightened-slowed to a halt, almost. Trying to make up for things, she hastily fires off a single ball of ghastly flames at Fischer...who easily evades the misprepared attack.

Babbling, Fischer begins to use his natural deceptive powers as a Dark-type to irritate and annoy Nohface. The torment is too much for her-and try as she might, she can't produce another will o' the wisp.

Zapdos observes the brawl on its lands. All the Electric-types knew to flee the area, and the Will O' Wisp simply hit a Delibird in the distance. Speaking of which, Zapdos has chicks to feed, and she swoops down on the poor Delibird like a hawk on a sparrow.

We take a moment of silence for the Delibird, before returning to our regularly scheduled programming. The Delibird was far away from the battlefield anyway, so it isn't a concern of our combatants.

Both Fischer and Bella Luna have elected to use fairly weak attacks against the other. Both, of course, deal little damage. Notably, Fischer easily sees through Nohface's feeble attempts to hide in the shadows of the tall grass-he easily uses his iron skin and Dark-type senses of trickery to minimize the damage.

Surprisingly, neither have really done that much against the other, although Fischer has done slightly more. Both are nearly at full power, and both await fresh commands."

Sorry this took so long-Galladiator, you're up!

Just out of curiosity, why would there be Delibird in Kanto? Just wondering...

Way to go, Fischer! Now I want you to hit it with your own Faint Attack, followed by a Leer and another Metal Claw! If it uses Will-o-Wisp again, use the next action to evade with Faint Attack! If it attacks, replace the next action with Sucker Punch!

Ok Bella Luna start things off with a Meteor Mash to try and knock Fischer against the power plant! Then use Rock Slide to try ad keep him stuck there! Then finish with a Will"O"Wisp!

Meteor Mash-Rock Slide-Will O Wisp

Galladiator: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/ButtMonkey
That should give a good explanation of why Delibird, who is part of the diet of virtually all the CAPs, would be in Kanto.

Also, that was somewhat ambiguous the first time I read that-

and oh yes Firefox on a computer that doesn't have a finicky mouse makes me a happy ref. Google Chrome is a good browser, but Firefox's auto-formatting on Smogon makes life much easier for reffing.

"Fischer starts out the match rather confused-unable to tell whether the extremely slow Nohface is trying to attack, he suddenly begins weaving back and forth. As Bella Luna finally charges her body with steely light, Fischer sucker punches her with his pointy claws. Annoyed, Bella Luna rams her metal face into Fischer, doing damage despite Fischer's metallic skin.

Fischer tries again-this time weaving again, before again stabbing Bella Luna's ethereal, yet strangely metallic essence in another sucker punch. It takes more energy for Fischer to fool the Nohface this time. Undeterred, Bella Luna takes some of its dark form and forms many purple stones (which thankfully don't torment her), which all cascade towards Fischer at once. The stones don't do much-but Fischer already anticipates Nohface's next move, dodging into the shadows. Bella Luna calmly fires another ball of flames anyway. The flames hit the water, causing it to boil a little before dissipating.

Zapdos is too busy dressing the Delibird corpse to bring home to her chicks to care. Besides, nobody's done any real damage-nothing's caught on fire, and the chicks already know how to call 911 in case of errant Electrode explosions.

Both parties await new commands. Fischer seems to have done more damage this round-at the cost of losing the most energy this round. All that anticipation of moves is wearing him out a bit." (Out of character translation: All those substitutions/ambiguous wording meant I added an energy penalty of 6 to Fischer this round.)

"By the way-it seems Bella Luna's trainer, Solstice, is ordering first this round!"

"Starting off this round, it seems as though Bella Luna has let off a yawn-and try as he might to block it out, Fischer just can't seem to resist it. His struggle against it might have even made him MORE to the sleep, since he seems to be nodding off before actually being able to act...

Observing her sleeping foe, Bella Luna decides to knock him into the water with the force of a meteor. As she approaches, charging up her atta-

'SUCKER PUNCH, YOU BLISSEY!'

Good thing our Pokemon-to-English translator kicked in just at the right time to hear that strange piece of Pokemon swearing. It appears that this was uttered right after Fischer Sucker Punched Bella Luna-looks like Galladiator's gambit worked after all! Annoyed, Bella Luna suddenly rams into her enemy with steely power, knocking Pawniard backwards...right to the edge of the water-where he trips and falls in!

Content with her work, Bella Luna moves to hide in the power plant itself. As Fischer wasn't really knocked back far enough into the water for its limited swimming capacity to give it a significant drowning risk, he manages to swim back in, and vanish into the Power Plant with the Nohface.

Zapdos is growing wary-the battle has moved into the plant itself, where her chicks might be harmed. But that isn't to say that they're nearly close enough to trigger her worries more than just caution. A soft light appears behind the group as Zapdos roasts the Delibird carcass in front of the chicks, small sparks coming out as the Delibird is cooked. Ignoring this spectacle, both Fischer and Bella Luna are ready to be commanded. It also seems like Galladiator is going first this round!"

Understood. That was actually my intent.

Great job, Fischer, but be on your guard! I don't like how that Zapdos is looking at me...

Use a Scary Face to start the round! Then, use Aerial Ace! At the very least, it's more effective typewise than Metal Claw was. End the round with a Faint Attack to hit it wherever it dodges to next!

Awesome job Bella Luna! Now we don't want him to get zapped and wake up, so start with a Rock Slide to bury him! Then if he gets out use Meteor Mash, if not chill. If you do use Meteor Mash finish with a chill, but if you chill after the Rock Slide use Will"O"Wisp!

"Fischer tries to shock himself out of his drowsiness by touching the wires. The jolt is strong enough to prevent him from going to sleep, yet Fischer knows he can't keep his eyes open forever.... Although Bella Luna launches another barrage of rocks at Fischer, one of Zapdos's chicks sneezes, the noise disrupting her aim. Somewhere, far away, a Jirachi is smiling.

Doing as his trainer commands, Fischer chills out. On the other hand, Bella Luna is thrown out of whack by the force of the attack, and decides the intent of her trainers' command was to chill if she couldn't access Fischer; to attack if she could. This time, she hits, knocking Fischer backwards into the wires again, fully waking him up.

Content, Nohface chills...as Fischer vanishes once again to hit her with an unavoidable strike.

Zapdos, seeing the damage done to the Power Plant, begins to move forwards, but her chicks restrain her, chirping that they want to keep watching the battle and that the Delibird isn't even half-finished. Meanwhile, both contestants are beginning to tire-Galladiator goes next, but is Fischer strong enough to finish this?"

C'mon Bella Luna we're not where near finished yet! Lead off with a Will"O"Wisp, then Faint Attack. Finish with a chill.

"In a desperate attempt to defeat his adversary, Fischer begins to wildly vanish to hit Bella Luna, only for Bella Luna to respond with a close-ranged will o' the wisp that FINALLY burns Fischer!

As Pawniard flails about, vanishing to and fro more wildly and with more energy to strike Bella Luna to make up for the burn, stray energy from the Will O' Wisp spreads onto a small piece of electrical equipment, lighting a tiny blue flame on it. Zapdos doesn't seem to have seen yet, yet one of her chicks is giving nervous glances at the ghastly flames...Bella Luna foolishly decides to try striking the Pawniard with his own medicine. Without the knowledge of Dark-types, and against the metallic skin of the streetwise Pawniard, Pawniard easily parries, despite the fact that his metal is starting to peel...

Pawniard suddenly channels most of his energy into a singular vanishing strike, dealing critical damage to Bella Luna! Although she feels her time in the battle is nearly up, she calmly chills, ready to launch a last-second strike against Pawniard.

The chance never came. It seems like the Will O' Wisp has spread, and the chicks are already ordering random Magnetons to bring fire extinguishers. Zapdos decides to deal with the fire-starter personally, drilling into Bella Luna with the sharp beak common to her species. Bella Luna's internal mask cracks in half from all the strain received in the battle-while her astral body will be able to repair the damage with the aid of a Revive, she is certainly unable to battle right now, and Solstice is forced to sadly recall her for this fight.

It isn't like Fischer isn't feeling so good, though-all those vanishing strikes have left him feeling rather energy-dry. Why, if he doesn't chill soon, he might just faint of exhaustion! Either way, Solstice is forced to send out his next Pokemon."
