Policy for Cheating in Tournaments

Monotype will primarily use the Ghosting/Cheating policy from the Tournaments Forum.

In short, if you're caught ghosting (helping/playing for another player) or cheating in any way (as interpreted by the Monotype forum moderation team) in one of our tournaments you will be banned from Monotype-related tournaments/events for 6 months. This includes our seasonals in the Circuit Tours sub-forum.

Tour banned users will also be devoiced (so they can't talk) and banned from participating in events in the Monotype Events room. They are welcome to lurk in the room though.

Tour banned users may still participate in the discussion in the main Monotype room on Pokemon Showdown, but their scores will not be counted in events (such as the Monotype Best Leaderboard Tour).

Tour banned users may still participate in forum projects/discussions and suspect tests.

Hey! We are trying to give you the best resources to get you started with Monotype OMs, after creating the Mono UU, Mono STABmons and Mono AAA threads we are happy to bring you the Mono Under-Played OMs megathread which combines DOU, LC and BH!
 
The Monotype Council is suspect testing Hoopa-Unbound!

There are 2 ways to get reqs this time (you only have to do one of them):
1) Ladder up, as usual.
2) Be a semifinalist in the suspect tour, where Hoopa-U is banned.

Updated a bunch of links as well as the tournament listings. Thank you guys for helping out!

Biggest update that is easy to overlook is the Ladder Tour, which will start once voting for the Sablenite suspect is done.
 
After the recent cheating/ghosting incidents in the Ladder Tour it was apparent we needed to get a solid policy set for how to handle users that cheat in our tours. The policy I originally put in that thread was far too harsh. Thanks should go to DEG, Bondie, and Acast (forum moderation + room owners) for initiating and helping out with this.

The 2nd post in this thread was amended with the new policy. It also lists the expiration date on punishments for users that were caught cheating. Anyone that was previously tour banned had their punishments adjusted to align with this new policy.

With all that said, it makes everyone's life easier and maintains the integrity of our community if you guys just chose not to cheat in the tours! :)
