Last Respects was already a point of contention since the tier started, Dragapult in particular being highly overbearing within the meta, making priority a necessity as to not get instantly swept after a few boosts of Last Respects since Dragapult already has a naturally fantastic speed tier. Basculegion is another mon that is also likely to become overbearing, as Kyogre's access to Flip Turn makes getting Basculegion on the field much easier. Since Dragapult is not the only abuser, we have made the decision to ban Last Respects all together rather than restricting it.


We initially overestimated the impact that Shift Gear would have on the meta, though upon closer inspection, the only real potential abuser of an unrestricted Shift Gear is Necrozma-Dusk Mane. If Necrozma-Dusk Mane were to become problematic, however, this change will likely be revisited.

I've been in the OMM lab for awhile, and I'm glad to announce the project that I'm most proud of.

This idea started when I noticed that Mega Pokemon, despite not being in the game, retained the movesets of their non-mega forms, except when the base Pokemon was not in the game. Hydrapple released, and Sceptile got Shed Tail. I thought "how cool would it be to have a Regen Shed Tail passer," and Cyclizar wasn't an option because he's lame. So began

Convergence Megamons

This format brings back every Mega Pokemon, even those not in Scarlet or Violet. We can do this because they borrow moves and abilities from their type bracket. This works in some funny ways.

Before diving into example, I coded it so that any form is available to use. That includes item transformations, like Zamazenta-Crowned, Ogerpon-Hearthflame, and Palkia-Origin, as well as in-battle transformations like Palafin-Hero and Terapagos-Stellar.

First off, Slowbro. Slowbro is in the base game, and its Mega is the same type. However, Megabro does not donate anything to its type bracket. But because all Megabro would donate that Slowbro does not is it's ability, Shell Amor.

Our next example is Mega Zard X. This is a Mega whose base form is in the game, but it changes type. This also changes its type bracket. Meaning that it still receives Charizard's base moveset, but also that of all Fire/Dragon types, NOT Fire/Flying. Fire/Dragon types also receive nothing from Mega Zard X, which is Tough Claws + a variety of Charizard-specific moves.

BONUS EXAMPLE

The sheer amount of sets available due to convergence is astounding. The main one is definitely Arceus, who is almost a requirement on every team. Sometimes there are potentially better Pokemon at a certain set, and instead of moving off the team, Arceus will often find itself just occupying a different set. Every form of Arceus is somehow kind of viable. Bug can set sticky webs and Tail Glow, Ice can set Aurora Veil, Rock has Regenerator and Purifying Salt and Salt Cure, Grass has Pheal Quiver Dance. The list goes on. The worst is maybe Poison, which still gets Levitate, Ngas, Knock Off, and Glare.


Sun is a very powerful archetype due to Scarlet and Violet providing much variety to mons that are benefitted by sun.


Rain is also very strong. Most Pokemon tend to just be supercharged Uber versions of OU rain cores.


While kind of critically underexplored, electric terrain teams hold a lot of potential.


Of course there's so many mons that can fit on a varierty of teams, and often do a good job on them.

Voltorb-H has been voted on during DLC1, but since the restriction of Elekid, Voltorb-H and Voltorb have both had a massive uptick in viability. Both Voltorbs function similarly, being fast electric types, but the primary sets of both slightly differ, with Voltorb-H having more set variety in Manectite, Glalitite, and Absolite, while Voltorb primarily runs Glalitite. Despite Voltorb seemingly being entirely outclassed by Voltorb-H, the advantages Voltorb-H have over it's Kanto form is the disadvantages that situationally make it worse as a Glalitite user, such as vs Pinsirite Mienfoo, whose FakeFeint hits Voltorb-H neutrally, while Voltorb resists it. The primary advantage Voltorb-H has over Voltorb is Grass STAB, mainly because Ground types like Hippopotas and Mudbray can take a Tera Blast, but not an Energy Ball/Giga Drain.

Mienfoo has been a Top tier since DLC1, and it's been the undisputed best Pokemon in the format since at least Duraludon's ban, having more of a grip on teambuilding than any other offensive or defensive threat in the tier. In contrast to standard LC where Mienfoo is primarily a utility pivot with a strong STAB, Mienfoo in LC mnm uses a combination of -ate FakeFeint + STAB CC that allows it to revenge kill any sufficiently chipped Pokemon and OHKO many of FakeFeint's resists, with FakeFeint invalidating most sweepers entirely. Most teams primarily use Mienfoo as their own Mienfoo check, with late game scenarios often coming down to who has more fodder to sacrifice to give their own Mienfoo the most opportunites to switch in safely to kill an opponent's chipped team and fodder to take the opposing Mienfoo's Fake Out.

Kantonian Voltorb will likely be revisited again in the future, as the bans of Voltorb-H and especially Mienfoo will cause massive shakeups in the metagame, and Voltorb is likely to be one of the top tiers to emerge in this new format.

LC STABmons has quickbanned Surging Strikes and Dewpider

Surging Strikes
This was a long overdue to ban this move. A multi-hit move with guaranteed crits in each hit is bound to be strong at low level, and it was already a borderline broken move last gen. Compared to last gen, Grookey isn't as great as it used to be, and Ferroseed isn't around. Current abusers ranged from Shellder, to Corphish and Chewtle, to even Feebas, who suddenly has the ability to OHKO stuff and even 2HKO some resist like Eviolite Foongus after rocks on the switch thanks to this move.


Dewpider
The combination of Tail Glow and Water Shuriken turned Dewpider into a fearsome sweeper. Its Water Bubble ability further amplified Water Shuriken to the point it can blow past even some bulkier targets at +3, and not to mention, it is also a priority move, which mitigated its very low speed. Dewpider also has good enough bulk to find opportunities getting a Tail Glow up.

with Triple Axel and High Horsepower have almost perfect coverage. Triple Axel has the benefit of break Sash while not needing Loaded Dice, allowing you to run Clear Amulet/Wide Lens instead

is a pretty normal Support set. Chilly Reception allows another partner to enter when needed while reseting the Snow and Springtide Storm being a nice option to do damage

and form a nice defensive core that helps defensively against other weathers, while also having the added benefit of helping against Psychic Terrain Teams.

and help against other weathers in a more offensive aproach. have the benefit of completing the Water/Fire/Grass Core with and and providing Speed Control with Prankster Tailwind

National Dex Move-Item-Ability BH ​

What?
Move-Item-Ability is an OM mashup format made by me which expands the pool of Item/Ability to the max extent.
To be straightforward it's a mashup of Fortemons + Trademarked + Multibility + Dual Wielding (Dual Wielding is an old gen OM which allows you to bring Items in Ability Slot).
In details, this format allows you to put (almost) any Move, Item, or Ability into Pokemon's Item slot and Ability slot, with the following effects:
1. If it's an attacking Move, all attacks of that Pokémon will inherit its properties, like in Fortemons.
2. If it's a status Move, it will activate on switch-in, like in Trademarked.
3. If it's an Item or an Ability, it will work as usual.
Note that there is no difference between Item slot and Ability slot, except that things in Ability slot will usually activate earlier than those in Item slot.

Here we mix Move-Item-Ability with National Dex BH to get a true sandbox format for Items and Abilities.

Metagame Obeservations
I guess many people think the meta must be broken so they don't even want to try it. But listen to me that this format is played for hundreds of games and by the longlong banlist most problems are solved. And it actually can give you some very unique experiences. Read the following and you will know I'm right.

Item/Ability Mechanics

Everything in Ability slot is viewed as an ability. For example, if you are running the following set:

Everything in Item slot is viewed as an Item. And it will be unremovable if it's not a real Item. (We've tried to make every Item removable at the very beginning, as a result of which the meta became very disgusting to play.) However Magic Room can still nullify it.

One appilication of the Item/Ability mechanics is that people can put Mega Stones into Pokemon's Ability slots like this:

When you Mega Evolve this Kangaskhan, its Ability, i.e. Kangaskhanite, will be overriden by the post-mega Ability Parental Bond. So you now have a Kangaskhan-Mega with Parental Bond as Ability and Night Shade as Item, unlike in regular NDBH where you have to sacrifice your Item slot for Mega Stone. And now you can see why Red Orb is banned.

Acrobatics is also a benificiary of the Item/Ability mechanics, which does nothing in Fortemons but does REALLY a lot in MIA:

One notable bug of Items is that if you use some one-time-use Item on your pokemon's Ability slot, on its consumption your Item will also be consumed. Actually I'm not very clear of what will exactly happen but yeah the bug exists. Considering not many people will use real Items in this format not to mention one-time-use ones and the bug itself is kinda hard to fix I decide not to fix it currently.

So when using attackers with Setup Trademarks, one important thing to consider is how it should deal with Haze Trademark users. Note that Imprison + Haze doesn't block Haze Trademark. There's almost no way to prevent your opponent from using Haze Trademark, except killing them before that with entry hazards.

That being said Pursuit jumps out as perhaps the only reliable way to kill opposing Haze Pokemon. Say you are using this set:

See you easily have very high single or dual defenses and a somehow screens effect for your teammates. Not hard to come up with ways to counter these sets and we won't be discussing them here. We just stress the phenomenon that weakening Moves are good and being commonly used.

Sheer Force Mechanics

Have you ever wondered if one day you can click Hyper Beam without worrying about the recharge turn coming behind? Well, what if I tell you that you can do it legally in MIA, with a totally reasonable mechanic feature?

The feature: If a Move can trigger Sheer Force, then its recharge turn, self stats drop, and outrage-like move-lock effect will all be cancelled.

For this DeoA, all its Moves can trigger Sheer Force by the Burn effect inherited from Infernal Parade, as a result of which both Prismatic Laser and Meteor Assault won't have their recharge turns, and both V-create and Fleur Cannon won't have stats drops. Furthermore all these Moves will still have 1.3x power always and additionally 2x power against statused opponent thanks to Sheer Force and Infernal Parade.

I'd say this is my personal favourite mechanic of MIA. And instead of a bug in MIA code it is actually already here in the game's (at least PS') original code. Sadly none of recharge Moves, self-drop Moves, or Outrage-like Moves can trigger Sheer Force so in regular games we cannot enjoy it.

Improof Skills

Pokemon are able to hold much more powerful "Items" in MIA so Improofing becomes very simple and fun. I will show you some examples but let's first see what regular imposter looks like in MIA:

There are various options of self-improof Items and Body Press is a very smart one among them. You need nothing else and you are doing a ton of damage to Imposter while Imposter does nothing back :)

I did more things. I love cooking up metagames and I'd like to show you all some of them.

Doubles Ungodly Gift
This is the oneI'm most proud of. I had a singles version of Godly Gift, but it never took off due to being bad. This one shares its name, but it has less in common. This is Doubles Ubers + Convergence + Godly Gift. This gives interesting mons new roles, gives mons that are good even more tools.


For example, Farigiraf gets even more abilities, even if it has a 90% chance of still having Armor Tail. It's other abilities are Sap Sipper, Psychic Surge, Symbiosis, Telepathy, Intimidate, etc. It doesn't really need any more moves for support but it now has access to Fake Out and Instruct.


While we just demonstrated how Pokemon benefit from Convergence, now I'm going to demonstrate Godly Gift and Convergence. Keldeo has the best stat spread of all the Water/Fighting, aside from it's poor Attack stat, which can be patched by Godly Gift. It now has Surging Strikes, Drain Punch, Ice Punch, Knock Off, Close Combat, High Horsepower, Thunder Punch, and more. Abilities like Swift Swim, Intimidate, Unseen Fist, Anger Point, Moxie, and Justified (Beat Up is banned) also supplement Keldeo. Urshifu is still good if you want it in the speed stat more.


Gods are very important. You get one per team and they decide the stats of the rest of your team. There's plenty of very good gods due to Convergence. Some of the best are Arceus-Flying, Palkia-Origin, Dialga-Origin, Kyogre, Eternatus, Zacian, Regigigas, Slaking, and probably some others. Just as a demonstration I want to talk about Arceus-Flying. It's bulkier, faster, and stronger than Tornadus-Incarnate. Tailwind, Bleakwind, Taunt, Protect, Rain Dance, WIll-o-Wisp, Sunny Day. So many tools for it to use. It's a supportive god, and it does that with its stats and movesets. If you want it's incredible utility but you're using a different god, there's still Tornadus. But there's something that is not only faster, but stronger than Tornadus, and it's Tornadus-Therian.

Type Split puts all attacks in either special or physical based on which category they were in gen 3. Fairy is included in this, and is a special type. I thought that camo would round this out more, allowing Pokemon to have STAB with their good attacking stat. I added STAB to round it out, and I think that this might be one of my more rounded OMMs. It's still in it's infacy, so I don't have much to say/

The next two I introduce will be two that I put a lot of effort into, but I don't appreciate them like I do my other children in this post. They're still better than Singles Godly Gift.

Fortissimons...

...is, well, complicated. Fortemons gives a move's effect to all of your attacks (by putting them in the item slot), but Sketchmons makes it more complicated. Only moves native to a Pokemon's learnset may be in the item slot, meaning that your sketched move cannot be there. What's more is it having Pokebilities and AAA combined with Fortemons makes it feel like Pokemon have like 4 or 5 or 6 abilities.

Also I restricted speed boosting moves and Body Press that was a really smart thing to do.

Off the Record!

Off the Record is a mashup of Broken Record, Sharing is Caring, and STABmons. You should probably know how this work. Sharing is Caring allows you to share items with your teammates, and Broken Record allows you to get a 5th move, if that move corresponds to the TR your Pokemons holds. TRs are not in gen 9, but I added them back. TRs do not share between Pokemon, meaning that you have to choose between a 5th move or supplementing your teammates.

This is probably my most offensively designed one, and it's definitely broken because of it. How Off the Record plays is you have 3 bulky pivots holding attack boosting items like Plates or Magnet or such, and then 3 offensive mons that also hold those other offensive items. Scope Lens, Life Orb, Expert Belt, Soul Dew. My miscalculation when making this game was not accounting for the two 1.2x stat items, like Draco Plate and Dragon Fang. That, in conjunction with STAB, makes it so that your 3 potent offensive mons murder any resists. A Life Orb, Soul Dew, Dragon Fang, Draco Plate Clanging Scales is 247 base power, not even factoring in STAB.

Also Broken Record barely factors in. Sometimes you get a DDance Landorus but that's it. Consider this an experiment. Is it better to be selfish, having more set up and coverage, or is it better to supplement your team? Unequivocally, supplement your team is the answer.

This would have been better if I subsitituted STAB for Alphabet Cup.

Type Split puts all attacks in either special or physical based on which category they were in gen 3. Fairy is included in this, and is a special type. I thought that camo would round this out more, allowing Pokemon to have STAB with their good attacking stat. I added STAB to round it out, and I think that this might be one of my more rounded OMMs. It's still in it's infacy, so I don't have much to say/

The next two I introduce will be two that I put a lot of effort into, but I don't appreciate them like I do my other children in this post. They're still better than Singles Godly Gift.

Fortissimons...

...is, well, complicated. Fortemons gives a move's effect to all of your attacks (by putting them in the item slot), but Sketchmons makes it more complicated. Only moves native to a Pokemon's learnset may be in the item slot, meaning that your sketched move cannot be there. What's more is it having Pokebilities and AAA combined with Fortemons makes it feel like Pokemon have like 4 or 5 or 6 abilities.

Also I restricted speed boosting moves and Body Press that was a really smart thing to do.

Off the Record!

Off the Record is a mashup of Broken Record, Sharing is Caring, and STABmons. You should probably know how this work. Sharing is Caring allows you to share items with your teammates, and Broken Record allows you to get a 5th move, if that move corresponds to the TR your Pokemons holds. TRs are not in gen 9, but I added them back. TRs do not share between Pokemon, meaning that you have to choose between a 5th move or supplementing your teammates.

This is probably my most offensively designed one, and it's definitely broken because of it. How Off the Record plays is you have 3 bulky pivots holding attack boosting items like Plates or Magnet or such, and then 3 offensive mons that also hold those other offensive items. Scope Lens, Life Orb, Expert Belt, Soul Dew. My miscalculation when making this game was not accounting for the two 1.2x stat items, like Draco Plate and Dragon Fang. That, in conjunction with STAB, makes it so that your 3 potent offensive mons murder any resists. A Life Orb, Soul Dew, Dragon Fang, Draco Plate Clanging Scales is 247 base power, not even factoring in STAB.

Also Broken Record barely factors in. Sometimes you get a DDance Landorus but that's it. Consider this an experiment. Is it better to be selfish, having more set up and coverage, or is it better to supplement your team? Unequivocally, supplement your team is the answer.

This would have been better if I subsitituted STAB for Alphabet Cup.

For those who have played the tier recently, neither of these should come as a surprise. Gastly had very few switch-ins and counters due to its incredibly strong STABs when paired with Absolite or Diancite to outspeed and blow apart the tier from the get-go at the cost of being slightly prediction-reliant to not faint to a stray attack from Pokemon like Mienfoo and Gligar. That being said, Substitute and either Nasty Plot or Will-O-Wisp meant that nothing could actually switch in unpunished, as typical answers like Hisuian Qwilfish, Pawniard, and Mareanie were weak to Will-O-Wisp and Nasty Plot accordingly, and anything that risked staying in that used physical attacks had to be careful of not being burned in the progress. Even the ever-present Vullaby could not answer without incredible investment and Eviolite as Sludge Bomb could threaten a natural 2HKO on Sablenite variants. Its high Speed stat in combination with Absolite or especially Diancite meant that outspeeding it was limited to Choice Scarf users like Murkrow and Hisuian Growlithe and priority from Alolan Sandshrew and FakeFeint users like Pawmi and Makuhita, many of which were hard to slot. Overall, Gastly's presence in the tier was extremely limiting and, as such, has caused its Mega Stone restriction.

Pawniard, on the other hand, was only a problem after getting up a Swords Dance boost, which required spending a turn to do so in the first place. The issue, however, was Pawniard was very difficult to punish, as it required something that could 2HKO it before it could KO anything in return, something very difficult against a Pokemon that dominates in the late-game. Pawniard's counters were more notable, though, including physically defensive Mienfoo, Gligar, Hippopotas, and Larvesta, the latter of which could stave off Pawniard's hits reliably with enough investment and heal the damage. Offensively checking it was another story, however, as anything without an Eviolite had to fear being dropped by a +2 Metagrossite Sucker Punch or simply being outsped and OHKOed with Iron Head and either Brick Break or Lash Out, including resists like Mankey and Lopunnite Arrokuda. Pawniard's presence in conjunction with Alolan Sandshrew's kingship heavily influenced the rise of Brick Break, a move that is otherwise generally useless in the current metagame. Its overall stranglehold on the meta was deemed too much and has, as such, led to its restriction in the tier.

FAQ

• Why my Booster Energy don´t work?

_ Because both the Booster Energy and the Trademark work on switch-in, because of a bug the Trademark gets priority and override Protosynthesis/Quark Drive in the actions at the start of the turn. However Electric Terrain Trademark on a Quark Drive Mon still works, same with Sunny Day on a Protosynthesis

• Why my burned Guts mon is doing less damage instead of more?

_ Due to Pokebilities not being the base format, it doesn´t coordinate the burned status with Guts. However, poison does work

• What happens with Trace?

_ It copies the opponent trademark after using the trademark of the holder of the ability, and due to a convenient rule of Trademarked, it blocks the use of it in that same turn, it still copies it, activating it in the next turn and even if it seems to be trying to copy it again, because that Trademark was already used, it didn´t uses it. It generates a lot of text, but is actually not harmful to the turn progression

• Why using Transform as a Trademark doesn´t copy the effect of the opponent Trademark?

_ Because you can only use one Trademark, and your mon already used his trademark

• Why the form changing abilities overrides the Trademark?

_ Basically because is not the exact same mon that have entered the battlefield with the Trademark asigned, so it get´s removed

• Why Levitate doesn´t work?

_ Entirely unknown reasons

_ Just as an extra, we are still fixing some "complex rules" on the code so they work properly

After a little first tour, it´s time to fix some things of the metagame that are really unbalanced

NEW BANS

One of these is weird

• Eject Button/Eject Pack + Recycle: This provides infinite free pivot unless you OHKO the recycle user, which is pretty damn difficult considering how bulky they are. And banning Hydrapple is just gonna make the strategy less reliable, but still, the no effort momentum it provides is almost impossible to react (Eject Pack one is more gimmicky but it seems really hurtful too, so, thanks to the creator of the idea for telling before using it)
• Pain Split: So, it may be cheese, but is almost unstoppable cheese, lvl 1 Sturdy Pine Split Pineco just solos this first official tour (I´m not gonna embarrass myself with replays) with Toxic Spread, Free Switch and Tidy Up Support (this last one is not entirely neccesary because it can run boots, but still helpful against Knock Off), and I´m gonna restrict Pain Split because there are other tree things that can pull off the same strategy that are not broken outside of this

• Shed Tail: This could be banned as a whole because of, well, being a Free Sub, but mostly because Sceptile can abuse of this with Synthesis being a better Regenerator in most situations, but it still can be affected by weathers (that are potentially common)
• : Even with his below average stats, these can pull nasty combinations with having the combo of Weather Trademark + Speed Boosting Ability + Evasion Boosting Ability, that seems pretty overpowered in the paper, only time will tell if those guys are really gonna be a force

Since I started noticing things fast enough, I need to update constantly, so...

After discovering that the Booster Energy doesn't activate in conjuction with the Trademark, since both are abilities that activate on Switch-in and have effect on the user, the Trademark, with having more Priority, blocks the other ability from activating.

is now unbanned from Tradeabilities!

Since the set that was suposed to be mostly banworthy was the Booster SpA Agility Set, It can now be freed for test

In other notes, enters to the watchlist. With the combo of Chlorophyll and Sunny Day, Lilligant doesn't seem so broken, until you saw his others two Abilities: Leaf Guard, which prevents It from being statused, and Hustle, that apply a massive Boost, and the accuracy drawback can be mitigated with Gravity Support, mostly in the form of which is a good defensive pivot on his own

Camove Chaos Update

It’s true! Renewed interest has brought Camove back from the dead! To help bring relevancy back to the tier, we’ve had a ban and unban slate.


Rancid Loon was unbanned in a 6-0-2 vote. Avid Booster Energy enjoyer and sun’s strongest warrior is welcomed with warm arms back into Camove.


Nagakiba has been voted on before by Camove’s council. However, nothing occurred because literally everyone voted abstain. Naginata has finally had an actual vote, coming back with a 7-0-1 vote.


Ironbound Dull is banned in standard play because of its incredible STABs of Water + Freeze Dry hitting everything neutrally. Now everything has that, and now pokemon with Water Absorb can be any type. It still has incredible stats and Quark Drive, but Booster Energy is almost required for that. Good luck using Pincurchin tho.


Orchard Pan Hearthstone was banned way after Camove dipped in popularity, and it never got a fair shake. Mold Breaker is one of the best tools for beating stall, and I believe this will be the new best user with its great stats, immunity to Knock Off, and its 1.2x boost to all attacks. 4-0-4

NEW BANS AND WATCHLIST

Recycle + Red Card: This is almost the same reason of the Eject Items. Incredibly unpunishable and make the users borderline broken, but are not for themselves

Glare: This is going to be banned before people start experimenting with this. It wasn't restricted in his time because the only mon with Glare was and also Serp isn't specially threatening in Standard Trademarked

Toxic: This status on entry is incredibly free, and even if it's not as in immediately crippling as burn or paralysis, the accumulative chip that can't be removed in most teams is really game changing. And, no, it doesn't really affect defensive structures because they stack poison inmunities/absorbers and, for some reason, corrosion don't have effect on the Trademarks. Also Pecharunt gets a free immediate confusion with this too

Raikou with Neck: this is added to the watchlist because of how incredibly threatening and spammable in any playstyle it is with his ETerrain + Rising Voltage combination, that can be provided by himself or an ally, and can also recieve sun support very easily and even Soak Support from things like

Also , , and are removed from watchlist because, at the moment, they doesn't seem threatening at all and most teams just ignore them for good reasons

LC PokeAAA has BANNED Snivy!​

Idk how I missed this, but it's banned now. Why this is banned should be obvious, Contrary is really dumb and allows it to delete a lot of things. Any subsequent bans will probably come after council gets a VL out, but Mienfoo, Shellder, and Magnemite are currently what are being looked at as potential bans. If anyone wants to help with the VL or any other resources, I will probably be active in the LC Mashups channel of the OMM discord server.
