My post addressed performance. Computers are amazing and people expect too much out of things and quickly get over their enjoyment of something new. E-mail revolutionized how people could communicate, and yet after a while of it, they get upset with Outlook Express being difficult to set up or whatever. People get mad about computers getting blue screens of death when Microsoft and forums online provide good solutions.
Now, the one thing I did NOT address in terms of performance is needs of a computer to do actual work. Demands of industries and projects for school where you actually have an requirement is a different story, but I think most of these people love computers enough that they are still loving their job and any high-technology computers they get to use. Doing leisurely things, whether they are things those same people do for jobs or school, is a little different, but still I can understand the frustration there. Any casual user has no right to get upset over performance when it is not NECESSARY to his or her life in any way.
I am not saying I am above this, and I get upset sometimes, but when it happens, I think back 'hey, I have an amazing thing here, I need to calm down and work on figuring out if I screwed something up and a solution regardless of it is the machine or me'
Now, people have rights to get upset over faulty materials too, and there is error in all industry, so there will be machines with errors, but most people get upset over 'not enough power' or 'not enough ram' et cetera which is ridiculous.
