from what i think i understand if anything most official tiers do have sleep clause mod (all gens ou, most gens low tiers)
official is less about the presence of mods more about how it was/is formed and maintained
https://www.smogon.com/forums/threads/smogons-official-core-metagames.3513352/ says that they have to be playable on cart, so i was wondering if sleep clause was an exception or if only those metas are allowed to have it because they're grandfathered in
Interesting as I've definitely heard metas unplayable on cart be called "official" (ex: adv low tiers reconstruction thread in policy review mentioned multiple times that ADV UU is official) so now I'm a little confused myself.

Can someone eleborate on if ADV UU is considered official? ADV UU is not a cart playable meta, so the definition being "can be played on part" while ADV UU is supposedly considered official by tiering leaders does confuse me. Half the thread even turned into stuff about whether it needs to be official for not, when if the definition is a cart playable meta, ADV UU is not one to begin with.

The thread you link mentions SS Monotype as an official tier, but from what I can tell SS Monotype seemed to have sleep clause mod.
So this confuses me even more, the thread you linked, the ONLY official meta it lists, is one not playabale on cartridge (and it doesn't mention sleep clause mod being an exception).
I wonder if "without an external device" just means not hackmons type devices? But then why would ADV UU dropping certain UUBL Pokemon strip its official status? Unless the entire thread I linked in the post above has been mistaken about ADV UU being official?
edit: its probably just about how the tier was formed and how its maintained presently but stuff like STABmons technically being a hackmons meta invalidates it. RBY ADV and DPP would never have official tiers by "playable on cart" definition bc counter/switch mod/acid rain, if even assume sleep/freeze clause can be in official tiers

Second related question: I remember the Tranquill page was being used to test some new analysis format a while ago, which I think involved minisprites. It was the Flutter Mane BSS analysis and it had a section that was like:

Question: Can we suggest tournament ideas, of either New tournaments or reformulation of current tournaments' rules? If so, where?
All tournaments are open for anyone to join. You can seek "farm leagues" additionally which are team tours that tend to have a lower barrier to entry.
Im asking to suggest to someone else host, or again, reformulate current tournament's rulesets. The forum section has no topic or guidance of what standards Smogon is expecting, nor how suggestions are handled
Here are the rules and guidelines, as well as the hosting guide. If you have further questions, you can feel free to reach out to me as a Tournament Director - I'm not aware of a space where people can formally request others host tournament ideas, and most tournament rulesets follow the rules and guidelines and format rules for whatever's being hosted.
I did some research and seems there isnt one. Guess im going to forums suggestions to formally request one

Such format has to first be accepted within a Smogon subforum before you can host around resources for it, so you'll want to check if it qualifies for an OM, or (most likely) a Pet Mod. Check their guidelines for new additions in the respective sections before just dropping a new thread with your tier.
Hello I don’t know if anyone will be able to help me. My IP is suddenly being flagged as a proxy in showdown even though I’ve used this device and WiFi for the last 3 years and now the password to my main account has been changed and I’m effectively locked out of any account I register. I’m at a bit of a loss as to how to fix this.

You'd be best off reaching out to Global Staff directly to have this sorted! The best way to do will be to make a help ticket on PS by typing /ht into a chat and going from there. Explain the situation as you have now and they should be able to handle it swiftly!
(Alternatively, see the first link in my signature at the bottom - that'll send you straight to it - Lock appeals on PS!)
I would love to do this but I can’t get an account to register to lodge a complaint with. The accounts create but won’t take the password I assign. Also since it’s seeing me as a proxy it’s blocking any chat attempts to reach global staff.
Are you on an Apple device with iCloud Private Relay, by any chance? If you are, try turning that off and seeing if the problem remains.

Is https://smogonu.creator-spring.com/ still associated with Smogon? I can see people advertising https://teespring.com/stores/smogonu (which redirects to the other URL) a few years ago on the site, but either other posts with it have been deleted or there's just been nothing for four years. https://shop.smogon.com/ seems to be the new storefront. Is the older one still in use?
