SPOILERS! Legends ZA Data Dumps - Adding Info to OP

Some takeaways here:
  • If Mega Zygarde still has a base 100 BST increase off of its own base stat total, this would put it 28 points above Mega Rayquaza and the Mega Mewtwo’s for the record among usable Pokémon in battle.
  • They really thought they were slick making Mega Scolipede slower and bulkier when all people are going to have to do to get around that is use Turn 1 Protect and get a turn of Speed Boost which Scolipede normally does anyway. I imagine the Mega itself would lose the Ability though, making this an overall nerf when taking opportunity cost of one Mega per team into account.
  • The people who speculated Special Mega Dragonite look like they were correct. I think that’s a smart design choice given Dragonite’s recent competitive success on the physical side and not being able to hold Heavy-Duty Boots thanks to the Mega Stone requirement balancing it for competitive play.
  • Feraligatr’s base Attack goes up by 55, which might be just enough to compensate for the removal of the Life Orb Sheer Force set. If I’m not mistaken it gets a bit bulkier too, which is nice. The approach to its design also makes marginally more sense given these base stats, but overall I still don’t like it. Maybe that’s because I’m too attached to the original.
  • Hawlucha is an interesting one as Unburden pre-Mega is effectively useless with the Mega Stone requirement. This thing was a menace in Ultra Sun & Moon so I’m okay with the change. We’ll have to see what they give it instead in Champions.

Nice. Hopefully we get full body images soon too.

Quick thoughts:

-with the clearer image of Emboar's head I am glad to see that the eyebrow is two separate pieces.

-I love that the waist in mega Falinks does not look like it's having a good time. I think the transformers combiner vibe is done well, and I look forward to adding this to my team.

-I sure hope eternal flower floette is obtainable in the story so I can use it for the dlc.

-mega barbaracle looks metal, and another type change is nice. Clefable looks like it hasn't slept in a week. Froslass looks neat.

I guess mega zeraora, darkrai, and heatran have a iron leaves/walking wake situation going on and won't be added until a later update... and hopefully not just held back for the dlc (or even worse, scrapped entirely...)

Edit: also, despite regional forms being on, no Kleavor?

Mega Zygarde Complete will join the AG realm. Game Freak really wants people to use Core Enforcer on it
Core Enforcer normally bypasses Abilities like Sunsteel Strike and Moongeist Beam so with no real niche aside from “big Dragon nuke” they probably wanted to overcompensate for this. It could be like the Legend Plate for Arceus though and be exclusive to this game.

There is one other tera leak thing I remember floating around, this was a while back so I might be confusing it, but I do recall there being an episode title that mentioned Mega Zeraora by name. So I doubt it's scrapped and I can see it being out before (or at least, not continegent on ) the DLC.
Heatran & Darkrai who knows.

Yeah I rolled my eyes at that too. But it aws going to be an eye roll situation no matter what since there was no way they were going to put Kleavor in and let Scyther evolve into it. The whole situation with that trio is so stupid...

Well, can't say I'm excited by that stat distribution for Skarmory-Mega. It would have had an easier time than many other defensive mons for a defensive Mega since it has its own recovery so there's less pressure on the item slot that the Mega would need to compensate for. But with -30 Def, it's pretty clear that isn't the direction that was taken. Without a really unique Ability though, it feels like it would just get outclassed by Metagross-Mega (same speed, 5 more attack, decent offensive Ability, better HP and Def)

Im ngl, most of these states spreads feel like they arent that good. Mega Clefable, Mega Starmie, and Mega Dragonite are especially disappointing. Mega Clefable esp feels like it hit my fear and is going to be on par with or worse than Togekiss unless it keeps Magic Guard. I feel like Mega Zygarde complete might have same issue as meloetta depending in if it needs to be complete form first to mega evolve. Mega chandelure at least looks decent.

I can appreciate they were going for something different here with a lot of these Pokémon, which is cool, but I wonder if they'll be decent long-term. Not being able to hold item has only become greater opportunity cost in recent gens.

Mega Starmie leaning into physical Atk is just such a weird decision, it almost makes me think GameFreak was too scared they would break it if they emphasized Sp.A and Spe increases. But as it stands, its level up and TM compatibility in Gen 8 was almost exclusively special moves, with mostly just STAB and Normal as coverage among them (plus Gyro Ball lol). They're going to have to expand its movepool greatly, otherwise the Atk increase is entirely wasted. At the very least, I can see Fighting moves introduced into its pool just from it having long legs as a Mega.

I am happy to see Mega Meganium having a respectable Sp.A stat backed by good bulk. I'm sure it will have Dazzling Gleam, and hopefully Moonblast too since it doesn't appear there will be any new signature moves for the starters. All it needs is Earth Power and it should be at least decent, but I'm also crossing my fingers for Calm Mind. If it doesn't get Earth Power, I guess Body Press is there.

Hopefully the new TM compatibility list will come soon!

Not sure if you're referring to something I missed, but there were some transcripts about the anime team wanting to use Zeraora as one of Lucius' mons, and Ohmori said if they were going to use it they wanted the anime to use mega zeraora, but then Lucius didn't have a Zeraora after all. And it sounded like the tera leak build didn't have it either, because at some point one of the leakers posted "stop the count!" and revealed Zeraora wasn't in. Which I guess makes it promising that it's still in the preload build.

Am I reading this wrong or is Mega Starmie getting a bst increase of 140
Yeah that seems a bit off, maybe Pory had a typo? Zygarde is also a bit weird, comparing it to the Complete's stats and accounting for the stat drops its "only" a net positive of +70. Although maybe I did the math wrong?

Then again Zygarde's kind of weird in general (especially if you can mega before going Complete)

e: Oh my god smogon your table editor is worthless
