:delphox-mega:
Mega Delphox:
Delphox absolutely demolishes the most common defensive cores of the tier. The combination of Psyshock, Flamethrower/Fire Blast and Dazzling Gleam allow Mega Delphox to 2 hit KO or 1 hit KO practically every single pokemon available with minimal prediction. Even :Slowking-Galar: is quite reliably 2hkod by psyshock. Delphox also has a blazingly fast speed tier, reliably outspeeding Raichu-Y, Non-scarfed Meowscarada, Sneasler, Weavile, Mega Metagross and Mega Starraptor (who are both cleanly 1hKO'd), Garchomp, and even Adamant Blaziken at +1, meaning it can very easily dismantle teams that (very possibly) don't have anything to outspeed it. Nasty plot allows you to turn any 2hko into clean 1-taps, so sidueyeome Pokemon that may have been able to threaten it before at full health (:primarina: :rotom-wash: :Garchomp: :slowking-galar: :hippowdon: :swampert: :Pelipper: :Ceruledge: :toxapex:) now cannot, allowing Delphox to cut down on the amount of prediction needed to claim kills. Your primary threats as Delphox are :meowscarada: (who is often scarf), :Samurott-Hisui: (with scarf or sucker punch), :Dragapult:, :Hydreigon: (scarfed or sub), :Kingambit:, :Aegislash:, :Tyranitar:, :mawile-mega:, :pelipper: + :swampert:, and most of all, STEALTH ROCKS.
Mega Delphox is easily revenge killed by many common scarfers, but given perfect prediction, Delphox can force a kill every time it comes out. Since you A: won't have perfect prediction, B: need a way to switch in to common dark types and water types, and C: need a way to remove stealth rocks against common setters, the perfect partner for :delphox-mega: in COU is:

:decidueye-hisui:
Hisuian Decidueye:
With a Max/Max Defensive spread, Hisuian Decidueye absolutely hard-counters (most) :Samurott-Hisui: sets, who is by far the most common and scariest counter to your :delphox-mega:. With a Grass/Fighting typing, you are able to switch into and threaten many of :delphox-mega:'s counters and slow pivot out into :Delphox-mega: to force another kill. With access to Roost, Defog and Scrappy, you also happen to be able to deal with the other two non-dark type problems for :delphox-mega:, ghost types and stealth rocks. In spite of his PU standing in Generation 9 and his absolutely underwhelming statline, Hisuian Decidueye is somehow a genuinely incredible pick and has been such a high performer even in some of the hardest games I had while laddering. Here are some of the pokemon Decidueye has managed to absolutely 1v1:
:kingambit: :samurott-hisui: :excadrill: :garchomp: :garchomp-mega: :swampert-mega: :aegislash: :meowscarada: :houndstone: :dragapult: :rotom-wash: :basculegion: :raichu-mega-Y: :eelektross-mega: :lopunny-mega: :scizor: :quaquaval:
(Not A Reliable List Of Things It Can Check)

:samurott-hisui:
Hisuian Samurott:
Adamant Black Glasses Hisuian Samurott is so good it might be bannable. Swords Dance boosts your power to unholy levels, and Ceaseless Edge lets you lay down free spikes on top of killing whatever you're trying to kill. I'm not going to spend too much time talking about the Unholy Otter, you all know what it does, but I have grown to enjoy bulky SD as one of its most powerful sets. It is very good as a partner to :delphox-mega:, as it has a tendency to solo-win the rain matchup and both softens-up for Delphox and enjoys sweeping teams softened-up by Delphox. Black Glasses Sucker Punch helps pick off or outright kill speedy threats, which is a big boon for the team. 10 Spe invest is to speed-creep anything speed-creeping rotoms.

:dragonite:
Dragonite:
Though much less common than in SVOU, Fat DD Dragonite remains an extremely strong "anti-bullshit" pick for Bulky Offense. Espeed Earthquake Roost DD with enough speed to outspeed Pult at +2. Easy Money. Acts as both a defensive piece and a late game sweeper once corv is weakened or killed by :delphox-mega: or :Samurott-Hisui:. Leftovers lets you heal off some the oft unavoidable Stealth Rock damage without having to waste roosts in long games. If :samurott-hisui: can't handle the rain matchup alone, Dragonite and Samurott can overwhelm their checks together.

:clefable:
Clefable:
The defensive glue for the team, as well as the mandatory fairy type. Was initially a :hatterene: in the first draft of the team, but the consistent healing of soft-boiled Moonlight, access to rocks, and a better matchup into :annihilape: and :dragapult: made Clefable a much better pick. Magic Guard Life Orb Clef lets you fire off extremely powerful Moonblasts and Flamethrowers on top of being able to switch in on the ever-present hazards that would make Unaware Clefable cry, making it a very reliable wall against anything that might get too out of control for the previous 4 to handle. :Dragapult: in particular can be tough for the team to handle without Clefable.

:Excadrill:
Excadrill:
The mandatory Ground type and Steel type. Scarf Drill was the only logical choice once the other 5 were picked, and mold breaker Earthquake is a very scary cleaner against weakened teams. Offers a second form of removal in case :decidueye-hisui: needs to stay healthy or can't get the fog off. Mold Breaker Stealth Rock may also be a life-saver against Hatterene Rain, or if Clefable can't come out until later. Drill
Mega Delphox:
Delphox absolutely demolishes the most common defensive cores of the tier. Making h-decidueye work which is one of my fav starters is so neat bro W
cuz i usually use a jolly scarf set

Any fat or bulky balance team?
To expand on Peakrow, the lack of Band/Specs and the overwhelming presence of hazards makes fat balance very, very hard to make work. The lack of boots, the lack of defog distribution, item clause restricting leftovers to one mon and the single best Pokemon in the tier setting spikes for free on passive Pokemon means you will be hard pressed to make anything fat last very long. Doesn't help that many of balance's best members are either MIA or missing their best tools--namely gliscor and toxic orb lol

Mega Metagross Hazard Stack HO - (Peaked #1 on Ladder)

1785983792787.png

1785983765258.png
Hisuian Samurott

99% of the time you're leading this and you're clicking ceaseless. Don't over complicate things you need the spike. SD lets you pressure corv switching in and helps you keep the spike up. Cutter is kinda jokes but it's very nice to have a noncontact option to hit chomp and the crit chance gives you some additional outs vs idef. I can see justification for sacred sword, but I haven't found it necessary. Not sure why I settled on this amount of speed creep, but it outspeeds 0 invest base 100 mons. Could see bumping this to outspeed tank chomp.

1785984358725.png
Blaziken

blaziken hits like a truck and helps break. It also is your only option to ohko corv (will write more about corv at the end). This slot and metagross have the most potential to be swapped, but I think this pair is the strongest available for this construction.

1785984281693.png
Kingambit

I think black glasses gambit might be the best mon in the tier. If you can keep hazards up it feels hard to lose with this guy. The spread here is speed creeping no invest corv. I don't really think fast low kick is better on this team because I think this team has enough options to outplay opposing gambit.

1785983811193.png
Garchomp

tank chomp is just the goat. You gotta get the turns right around corv if you want to win, but it's so crucial into most offense matchups. One key path to beating volt turn teams is to wear down their lop/meow/whatever with spike + rough skin, and clean up with metagross. Dtail insulates you against many setup mons. He's also crucial for beating mons that take recoil. 3 speed to outspeed other tank chomps.

1785984339766.png
Mega Metagross

this guy is so good I really don't understand why nobody uses it. Tpunch does ~42% min to max max corv which feels anemic, but with rocks up and the tiniest bit of chip you can 2hko. If mash gets the boost you just win. Bullet punch is crucial for cleaning up late game, and makes most sucker punch endgames more favorable. Other than corv it doesn't feel like anything can really switch into this guy. This team would also fold into any fairy without him so that's worth noting.

1785983787262.png
Dragapult

pult is important for many reasons. It denies raptor the +1 +1 off CC, it walls mono-bodypress corv which otherwise would 6-0, and generally wisp + hex is a core part of how this team generates progress vs the fatter teams in the tier. Broadly speaking if you lose pult, or even let it get statused, and your opponent has an idef mon, you have already lost.

General Game Plan

This team is all in on getting hazards up, and never letting your opponent get momentum back. Most games are decided by your ability to position yourself in a way that prevents hazards from being removed from your opponent's side. The team has no hazard removal, no scarf, and only 1 special attacker so you're really all in. You don't have a lot of switch ins to many things so your ability to navigate the tight spaces and determine your path to victory quickly is the key to success with this team.

Matchup Notes

1785984373219.png
:

The way you play around corv is the most crucial and skill intensive part of piloting this team. If corv could carry all 6 of defog, roost, idef, body press, uturn, and brave bird, then this team could almost never beat it. In order to beat corv you need to quickly and accurately diagnose your opponent's set and prevent them from being able to use it to take momentum. If you sac the wrong mon because you misread your opponent's set you will lose points. If you are too afraid to predict switches into corv you will lose points. In almost every scenario trading a mon to keep corv low is profitable, and if you can do so while preserving your hazards (or hazards setters) then doubly so.

1785984411549.png
:

this guy can be a real bastard. You need to figure out how to get rocks up, and many constructions with volc run magic bounce which can make that a challenge. Bulky volc getting a crucial burn will often lead to your defeat unless you get multiple turns right.

1785983833460.png
:

jolly dd is a real challenge with this team (any other set at +1 gets outsped by pult so it's less of an issue). Mega is also a huge threat but a fringe pick.

toxic spikes:

2 steels gives you some wiggle room here, but the fat teams with tspike support require careful managing. If you let tspike go up early and your guys get poisoned (especially pult), you're going to have a bad time.

webs:

webs is an easy win with this team. 2 clear bodies, 3 priority users, and tank chomp who doesn't care if he's slower. The key here is to make sure you're getting your hazards up alongside them and you keep yours up (webs will never run defog so you need to use your immunities to prevent spins).

Closing:

Thanks for reading my first team submission on the forums. I have never done this kind of write up for a team before and I don't really have the patience for it so sorry if it feels a little sparse. I also never save replays so this is all from memory. Maybe in the future I'll do a better job at this. I didn't really think I was going to do a team submission when I built and laddered with this team.

this team looks great, would lefties chomp be more prefered? also team looks weak to zapdos :/

No Big 4 or Hippowdon or Excadrill Bulky Offense Peaked Rank 2
:kingambit: :metagross-mega: :chesnaught: :swampert: :dragapult: :toxapex:

Mentioned the full details of the team here in the linked pokemon symbols above ^. But pretty much its an offensive hazard stack that has a relatively straightforward gameplan. It peaked a high elo for how many limitations there had to be & its quite a solid team so would recommend checking it out!

I want to share this Regulation M-C BO team, which helped me to break the 1600 ELO again and reach #30 on the ladder. It's an easy team to use. The interesting thing about this combo is the synergy provided by Paldean Tauros.
