In a trade I got a Calm XD Lapras with Heal Bell. IVs: 29/x/29/23/23/22. I wanted to make a support set to be used in UU only. I EV-trained it as 20 HP/224 Def/44 SpA/220 SpD. With its given IVs, this gives it 404 HP, just in case I want Substitute; it also gives Lapras 250 Def and 300 Sp.Def (nice round numbers). The rest of the EVs were dumped into special attack to make Ice Beam and/or Surf hurt a bit more.

Summary:
Lapras @ Lefties
Calm | Shell Armor
IVs: 29/x/29/23/23/22
EVs: 20 HP/224 Def/44 SpA/220 SpD
~ Ice Beam
~ Heal Bell
~ Toxic
~ Surf/Protect

Surf for another attacking move, or protect for toxic stalling and leftovers recovery.

What do you all think?
Since you only use it in UU, I should go for Surf AND Ice Beam, because Lapras is very Bulky and won't go down easily in UU.

Also without Surf you are totally walled by Steel types, giving Aggron and Probopass chance to switch in and set-up ...

I was looking for a counter to the uncounterable, SD -Yache Berry Chomp when the closest I could find was this:

bronzong.png
Bronzong @ Occa Berry/Leftovers
EVs:252 Sa/100 Hp/158 Def
Modest/Rash Nature
Levitate Ability
-HP [Ice/Dragon]
-Explosion / Gyro Ball
-Hypnosis
-Grass Knot / Psychic
Switches in on SD Chomp, and uses Hypnosis/Explosion/Hidden Power. Can also be used as a Special-Tank, Zong.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Damage Calcs:
* +2 Atk (Max Atk) Garchomp Outrage vs Bronzong =
Defender HP: 307
Move Damage: 170 - 200
Damage: 55.37% - 65.15%
-----------------------------------------------------------------
I'd suggest switching in on EQ and then using Hypnosis since Fire Fang won't kill you.

Tyranitar @ Leftovers / Expert Belt / Black Glasses
Nature: Adamant
Ability: Sandstream
EVs: 60 HP / 252 Atk / 196 Spe
- Screech
- Pursuit
- Focus Punch
- Stone Edge / Crunch

Really fun set to use on a team with Toxic Spikes, Stealth Rocks, and/or Spikes. Focus Punch and Pursuit is awesome with all the switches Screech will be causing. Leftovers helps keep him around longer, but Black Glasses let's you 2HKO Swampert after a Screech. Although, Stone Edge will still do 41-49% damage, enough to often 2HKO with Stone Edge and Spikes/Toxic Spikes.

Really just a bump, but it's a pretty awesome set too.

Skarmory @ Leftovers / Shed Shell
Name: CounterSkarm
- Counter
- Roost
- Brave Bird / Drill Peck
- Filler

Your take?

he's not taking enough damage from physical attacks to warrant this kind of set. Though it would allow you to use more sp. defense EVs.

I posted a similar set earlier. it was Screech, Pursuit, Focus Punch, and Suubstitute. It works

Well, Counter could work on certain things, such as a SD Fire Fang Garchomp, or SD Lucario, both who can't OHKO, but definitely 2HKOs. You can also take on the stronger Rock attackers, CBTar after it kills something, maybe a Machamp, etc etc.

But you're mostly a sitting duck so eh...

Dusknoir@leftovers
Pressure
Adamant Nature
Ev's:252 HP 252 Atk 4 Def
Substitute
Focus Punch
Thunderpunch
Shadow Sneak

A surpirsing Dusknoir. You can sub on the switch to TTar and Weavile and surpirse KO them with a powerful FP. If they switch to Gengar, just snadow sneak them. Thunderpunch is for gyara and others

Deoxys speed @ Leftovers
Hasty nature
252 HP / 252 Spe / 4 spA
Taunt
Agilty
Stealth Rock
Psycho Boost

Taunt can ruin most walls walls due to its speed. A good lead Agility for Ninjask. Plus SR will stop it switching in again.

Set name: Sniper

Yanmega @ Wise Glasses / Focus Sash / Leftovers
Ability: Speed Boost
Nature: Modest
EVs: 40 Def / 216 Speed / 252 Special Attack
*Bug Buzz
*Air Slash
*Hidden Power [Ground]
*U-Turn

Seems kind of standard, but he really doesn't have many other options. Anyway, this set is designed to "snipe" a pokemon, and makes full advantage of speed boost, and Yanmega's ability to 2HKO a ton of pokemon. Wait for revenge on a slower pokemon or bring him in on the numberous Earthquakes, Close Combats, etc. The Speed is 420 after speed boost and 560 after the second (max speed is pointless). The extra EVs were put in defense because Yanmega is actually bulky 86/86 Defense, and it will ensure that he survives things like Lucario's +2 Extremespeed, and help him easily shrug of CB Ice shards for about 60% damage. Anyway, bring him in on something slower that will run, then hit the incoming pokemon as hard as possible. Most things are hard pressed to survive two hits from yanmega, and those that can usually can't OHKO him back. If you succeed in KOing the incoming pokemon, you can continue or sweep or just U-turn out... Yeah, youved sniped a pokemon and took no damage. Thanks for coming!

Here's two sets I use sometimes;

Gallade@Wide lens/Life orb
Jolly
Steadfast

252 Att/236 Spe/20 Hp

Close combat
Ice punch/Stone edge
Swords dance/Thunderpunch/Leaf blade
Hypnosis

SD gallade set designed to abuse Steadfast, Makes a great lead to get the drop on ambipom and other fake out-ers, Hypnosis is there to cripple gallades counters, most of which aren't used as leads so a free hypnosis is always nice, since this gallade is meant to be used as a lead, Ice punch/stone edge is better than night slash in order to hit Gyarados/salamence/yanmega (If stone edge), Or Salamence/garchomp/dragonite/yanmega (If ice punch).
Swords dance is there to compensate for the Attack loss from adamant to jolly, But if you want, Leaf blade is there to hit rhyperior and swampert while thunderpunch is used to boltbeam punch or hit Toxicroaks if you opt for stone edge over ice punch.
The speed EV's allow it to hit 280 speed, outspeeding neutral base 90's, most notably lucario who will usually crunch you, thinking you're slower.

And then there's;

Floatzel@Life orb/Mystic water
Mild
Swift swim

252 SpA/252 Att/6 Hp

Rain dance
Waterfall
Hydro pump/HP electric/HP grass
Ice beam

This is a favorite of mine, Stole the Kingdra set and put it on floatzel, since floatzel is faster than Kingdra without a single speed EV, you are allowed to pump more EV's into Attack, 309 Att/295 SpA/532 speed after a rain dance is pretty nice, Hydro pump OHKO's hippowdon, but HP electric might be better to hit the bulky waters that usually switch into floatzel. Waterfall 2hko's blissey, ice beam hits grassers, fliers and dragons.

Probably onto nothing here, but these sets have worked well for me.

Floatzel@Life orb/Mystic water
Mild
Swift swim

252 SpA/252 Att/6 Hp

Rain dance
Waterfall
Hydro pump/HP electric/HP grass
Ice beam

I don't think it's a bad idea to take advantage of Floatzel's Special Attack with Ice Beam, but it doesn't learn Hydro Pump.

Mixed Floatzel isn't new. The damn thing has 85 Base Special attack. I ran this as a lead before

Floatzel @ Mystic Water
Naughty Nature
EVs: 252 Attack / 240 Special Attack / 16 Speed
*Waterfall
*Surf
*Rain Dance
*Taunt / Ice Beam

With 266, you OHKO dragons with Ice Beam. I lead more towards Taunt because it was a lead. But the 16 EVs outspeeds Heracross before rain. Meh, it hits hard on everything. I don't really see it as being new, people just don't use floatzel enough to begin with.

Need some help on heatran, It needs to counter Specsmence:

Heatran@leftovers
244hp/136satk/128Sdeffence
Modest nature
hidden power Ice (needs to be 62+ w/ 31satk IV)
Lava Pume
Rest
SLeep talk
with this spread hp icewill do
Damage: 100.90% - 118.67%
to the standard specmence
Damage calcs COMING from salamence:
Dracometeor Damage: 36.98% - 43.75%
Dragon Pulse Damage: 23.96% - 28.39%
Hydro Pump Damage: 84.90% - 100.00%
Flame Thrower Damage: .00% - .00%
Damage calcs COming from salamance AFTEr 1 draco metoer (satk stage -2)
Draco Meteor Damage: 18.75% - 22.14%
Dragon Pulse Damage: 12.24% - 14.32%
Hydro Pump Damage: 43.23% - 50.78%
Flame Thrower Damage: .00% - .00%
the damage calcs say enough. I will lead with Bronzong so the chance of Flame thrower are the biggest, I will even get an attack boost.
my biggest worry is the luck of getting the 100% when they hydroPump right away, this will be irrelivent if I add 4sdef EVS

Why did you calculate other attack after the Sp.Atk drop? it's SPECSMENCE..meaning after a Draco Meteor it won't select any other attack, unless you use Trick/Switcheroo..and Heatran doesn't get those..as for Heatran countering SpecsMence, it's good for anything besides HYDRO PUMP.. if you're that concerned about H-Pump, do the Bronzong lead, if you sitll don't fale safe use the water resist berry (not the best option but meh..) besides why do this, when you can just give Choice Scarf to Heatran to outran and OHKO with HP Ice..

I have the BEST SET EVER!!!

LUMINEON @ BRIGHTPOWDER!(or wet rock)
Jolly nature, 14 HP 252 atk, 244 spe

Waterfall
U-turn/Sweet kiss
Rain Dance
Attract/U-turn

Ok, here goes: It attracts a foe, then sweet kisses a foe, and they have a 25% chance of moving, it has brightpowder, just in case they move.It outspeeds positive base 90s, neutral base 100s. In the rain; everything. Once rain is up, it waterfalls a foe for a 20% flinch rate. One can U-turn to Huntail or some other NU rain using dude. I use it with great results. It's like togekiss with sucky stats!

Anyways, I late game swept an OU team once. Got in on salamence and attracted, set up rain, took a hit for ~80%, waterfall flinched it to death, killed a skarm eventually, killed muk, and others.

^_^

Extremely far from the best set ever. The OU team you swept must've been operated by a moron and the moron must've been unbeliveably unlucky as well. Congratulations.

Dunno the EXACT Evs on this thing, but this Metagross gave me some troubles:

@ Leftovers (but I bet Life Orb is probably good too).
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Meteor Mash
- Earthquake

Basically it's like a Sleep-Talker that can raise his Attack if he's damn lucky. I want to guess the EVs were 252 HP / 252 Atk with an Adamant Nature, but I could be wrong. Caused a bit of trouble since my team wasn't really strong against Metagross.
