atyroki and cartoons... i can't decide. cartoons looks alot cooler, but atryoki's gives it a more smooth feeling towards the sprite...
if cartoons fixes up the details of his sprite, he will surely get my vote.

Oh, shiz, new competition. This one portrays the actual art more than the other sprites. Great job:)!
 
I like parnig's and Atyroki's very much, with one hang up on Atryoki's.

I dislike the fact that the pose has him seemingly looking directly at the player. Most, if not all forward-facing Pokemon sprites have the Pokemon looking to the left, as if they're looking at the opposing side of the field.
 
I tried making him looking more to the left, but it didn't work
out as well as I'd hoped, I may try again...

and the flames were alot more textured before, but
It's already stretching the 16 colour limit as is >>

It looks like a GSC Sprite to me, for some reason. You need to clean it up a bit, but I really like the pose. This is my favorite in concept.

Atyroki and Shineenigma's look great.


I would propose that we just number the sprites and say nothing of who submitted them, just to make sure those who never visited this thread aren't just looking at the poll and name voting. Easily workable suggestion, I think.
 
I really like parnig's for the simple reason that it looks bulkier than the rest, which was one of the problems some people had with Elagune's concept in the first place, if I am not mistaken. However, atyroki's blew me away by being the most demonstrative of a grass/fire type. Unlike some of the others, atyrokis' screams grass/fire; I don't think anyone would think it was a different type than that at first glance.

Anywho, I fixed up the outlines a bit and made them darker around the feet and tail. I also emphasized the backflames a bit more as they were kinda obscure before. I also made the cannon flames larger.

However, I went about the flames two different ways. One version uses flat colors while the other has dithered flames. Which version looks better?

As for the eyes, I've fiddled with it and that's really the best they can be. I'm happy with them anyway.
 
I've decided to butt out of this thread. There's simply TOO much awesomeness, and when i debate this to myself i get to the same conclusion when i debate infinity with myself: Screw it all, the answer will eventually emerge.

Atyroki's Shiny is awesome. Perhaps the red color of the skin for the normal one can be lightened?

Nah KoA won because he had the best looking sprites not reputation if reputation was truly a factor he would spriting his cocktrice .Also he leave his poke with that silly looking grin it is probably going to lose.

Dithered flames imo


Awesome sprite Atyroki, but the front of the armor and the outlining look a bit odd.

mmm, I would agree but a want to see it.

GT could you add all the sprites into the OP for easy viewing?

Shiny was based off of a fire salamander (Black and Yellow) with burnt
wooden armor (Burnt wood = White ash) and Blue Flames just cause
really hot fire is blue :/

One problem with it, and that is the arm on the right (its left arm) looks awkward. Like it's bent wrongly, or out of proportion. Something about it. Otherwise it's awesome :)

atyroki's is my fave sprite. it's the most pokemony by far. the perfect cyindrical shapres everywhere were really bothering me (not really an organic shape like most pokes) but this sprite puts emphasis on the design rather than the individual parts. honestly this sprite makes me like the actual parent design even more.


the only thing i'd do is tone down the flames on the arms so that the forearm shows a little bit, as well as what time mage mentioned about the tail
 
Atyroki's is my favorite hands down. The head is just amazing, and none of the others compare in my opinion. Am I the only one who finds the feet a little odd though? The fact that they're pointing in the opposite direction than the head just seems unatural to me.
