Okay so I'm going to re-ask a question:

How easy a move is it to go from Gamecube controller to classic controller? All of my Gamecube controllers are damaged in some way (damn the frayed wire safety feature) and I am in need to find a new controller. I doubt I will be able to find another Gamecube controller (Are they readily available? I heard not.) and a classic may be my best bet. Or not, if it gets bad reviews by you guys.

I can't say personally, but the overwhelming opinion is that the GC controller is much better than the other options.
As far as availability goes, my local gamestop always has a few around. Make sure its a good one if you're buying used, they are used after all. It's worth checking out in my opinion, I'd just feel weird attempting another control style.

In unrelated news, I got infracted for being a dumb 1stposter... yeah sorry about that firestorm.

It's fairly hard because the buttons are placed differently than on the GameCube controller. You'll also have to get used to playing it PS2 style where the analog stick is at the bottom. You'll probably want to change the controls to suit you better. It's not too bad really. You still get all the options you would with a GCN controller. It just makes it harder at tournaments as you have to sync each time.

You can still buy GCN controllers at Nintendo's online store. http://store.nintendo.com
Search "controller".

My brother uses a classic controller, and it's comparable to using a PS2 controller's buttons with a SNES controller's base. It's really weird to hold at first, but you can always buy the little handle bars to make it easier to hold.

Don't even think about buying it if you have big hands though. The controller is TINY!

I switched to the classic controller however that was after ten days of being in the bush and i made sure it was the first i picked up, however what annoyed me was the c-sticks unreliablity to preform the right action

At first I was thinking "oh god a tier topic" and then realized you remade this topic to sorta split up the "discussions" going on so it's not a garbled mess bunched up in a single topic. Then I was like "oh god tier topic" again. >:/

first page post hi

Actually that might not be too bad of an idea, since you can import your controller settings from your Wiimote. Much less of a pain than bugging your toruney organizers to set up B-Sticking profiles if you use that, if even allowed.

Firestorm is right that you can pick one up from the Nintendo store, but you can also get new ones directly from Amazon. However, good luck finding anything other than platinum. Seriously, that's all that Amazon and Ninty have, unless you want to buy from an independent seller (eww...).

Or you could wait a few months for the white GC controller to come out.

For a complete change of pace, I've decided to go with yoshi for my second main =D

Lucas/PT for main, though.

I generally play with the Classic Controller and I enjoy it a lot. I've never had any synching issues which confuses me when people talk about such things with the controllers. Maybe that's just me though. My setup is...

D-Pad Taunt
Left Control Stick - Move (Jump hitting up is disabled)
Right Control Stick - Auto Smash Attacks
L & R - Shield
Z1 & Z2 - Quick Shield + Grab
Y - Special
B - Attack
X/A - Jump

The controller was setup to be close enough to the SSB setup since that was probably the best configuration out of any SSB games. In my opinion at least. Oh yeah, it's faster to shield with the Classic Controller without any preparation for immediate use, or so I hear. With setup, GameCube controllers will match the speed with the Z button as shield.

Atlas - I've been goofing around with Sonic recently, and I am no good with his Forward or Down specials. Any tips on how to improve their timing/what am I doing wrong?

Oh wait, so it's confirmed that it's coming to the states?

Even if it's not, you can buy anything on the Internet these days.

Except for a good gamebit screwdriver from a reliable source. If Amazon doesn't have a good one, and the Nintendo store doesn't know what they are, I'm not buying.

Yes, the newest patch kills Freeloader as well as the Twilight Hack and any homebrew channels.

uh not really :P just when you hit the enemy, jump so instead of going past them you continue hitting them. after that youre free to use any of your aerial moves.

hahahah, cant play brawl anymore, because i installed the wii update =D

oh well... australian release isnt far away...

could everyone delete me from their friends list? ill give you the update once i have the new game

After having a thorough look at myself and my playstyle, I have two completely new mains, and have ditched all of my old ones. I also have a back-up main if I find the opponent annoying.

Are there going to even be any differences between the PAL and NTSC versions?

if it's anything like melee, probably a lot... maybe that's why they took so long to release it in PAL (I'd expect laser/jab lock and infinite chaingrabs to be removed)

MARIO
is my secondary
He feels so natural and I've always been a fan of him.

and I just joined up on AllisBrawl, so if you're on that, look me up :D

Has anyone seen this?

I'm thinking on buying it, I have two of them that work perfectly. It will be interesting to see how it works for Brawl, and playing N64 VC games with this would be awesome! It's a bit expensive, but could be fun =D
