It is not 100% sure yet, I am pretty sure it was just speculation because of Giratina and Shaymin getting new forms but I am not sure. You will just have to wait (and so do all of us)

As Shaymin, the summer pokémon (that's only because it'll be distributed during summer), the legendary Regigigas that will also appear on the movie will be given to your D/P carts through the extra that will be included on the movie ticket! This Regigigas has another secret besides its move sets!

If you transfer it to your Platinum, somewhere in the game you'll be able to unlock a special event!

*The Regigigas caught by the traditional way won't unlock the event.

I think that's it. Better than I thought, as we just need the Regigigas, not the WonderCard...

Now we just need somebody in Japan to get a copy of the Movie Regigigas and clone it for everybody.

What's strange is that the page says "its (Regigigas's) move sets"... Wouldn't it be better as "its moves", "its moveset", "the moves set for it", or whatever else?

If Japan is getting not only a special pokemon but also the chance to access three other pokemon, I think that the U.S. might be having a Regigigas event in the near future. We already had our Darkrai event and we are getting our Deoxys event as well, so hopefully we won't be let down too much.

Yes, I expect the US will get the event. Possibly even the UK. But you can bet New Zealand won't, Nintendo has a proud record of neglecting its customers to maintain.

It's possible said Regigigas could be distributed via another game worldwide in the vein of Manaphy in Ranger, and Darkrai in its sequel (which should hopefully be out in the Americas by the end of this year). Or maybe it just needs Rock Slide, Iron Defense, and Icy Wind as tutor moves in Platinum (doubtful, as that would sort of ruin the event's purpose).

I sympathise, my fellow NZer.

When the Deoxys event was announced for Gamestop, I thought that maybe the EBs over here would partake in the event. You know, jump on the band wagon and play along. But Alas, twas not to be :(

It's never meant to be.

*worlds smallest violin can be heard in the background*

The thing that bothers me however, is not that they neglect us event-wise, but that they've actually gone to the trouble of putting in a wifi mystery gift mode just so that they can not-use it.

But I digress,

I'm liking the look of this "torn" world. Very surreal. Very mysterious.

I was thinking.. if the event unlock when your regigigas has that moveset, somestuff like yanma when envolves into yanmega...can be?

Do you mean Regigigas might evolve? I can't see it happening, really. But maybe only changing its form when it has that moveset... That would suck, as it's already at lv100 with no EVs, though.

I think the game will just check through your boxes/party (probably only the latter) for a Regigigas with Rock Slide/Icy Wind/Iron Head and the event's OT, ID, SID and other random info. Not anything fancy like "have you gotten this Regigigas by yourself", as it doesn't want the Event; just the pokémon.

Heck, it might be possible one could just hack the damn Regigigas with the same data as the legit event one.

I have a feeling that, depending on how Regigigas is distributed, the actual event of obtaining the Regigigas might make the Regis obtainable, rather than the Regigigas itself.

Perhaps the movie Regi is needed to be able to fight the old regis in Platinum?

edit: er, lawman said it first.

I hope we don't have to get the even Regigigas to get the Regis.. because I'll probably soft-reset for them.

I doubt GameFreak would bother checking the OT, ID, etc. It's probably just a check to see if it has the three special moves, so theoretically if you PokéSav'd a normal Regigigas with any OT and the aforementioned moves, you could probably activate the event. Another problem with checking the event info is they would have to change it for the English release, and again for the European languages, unless they give everyone the exact same Japanese Regigigas. Seems like a lot of trouble for an event that might not even happen in the majority of places in the world.

I have a feeling that, depending on how Regigigas is distributed, the actual event of obtaining the Regigigas might make the Regis obtainable, rather than the Regigigas itself.

Regigigas is being distributed in July though, before the release of Platinum. This means the wondercard itself would occur on the Diamond/Pearl games, so Regigigas would need to be traded to Platinum. Unless the wondercard they use has some funky coding that when a game with it links to Platinum, they get the event (is that even possible?), it's going to be the Regigigas itself that enables the event.

What attack is the Sky Form using to battle the Magnemite's?
Also,it looks like the Regi's are at lvl. 30 when you catch them.

so is there gonna be a new regigigas form or not?

I kind of doubt it... info about the Shaymin and Giratina forms have all but been released, but we've seen nothing so far indicating an alternate Regigigas form. Don't you think they'd promote it more if there were such a form? They sure seem to be promoting the other two quite heavily.

edit - poster above, Energy Ball perhaps?

I think there won't be a new regigigas form. Nintendo probably thought it was hard to get regigigas because you needed the regis, so they gave the third game regigigas without GBA games needed.

Shaymin F (already named it xD) is using Energy Ball.
So, the three regis are catchable..but I hope Regigigas with the three moves (Iron Head, Icy Wind and Rock Slide is needed). Also, if anyone can translate the second video s/he'd be appreciated :).

I'm really hoping that we can just catch the 3 regi's without needing that Regigigas... I can't catch them anymore due to someone robbing my ruby version.

I kind of like Shaymin's sky form. Hopefully it's stats will warrant it some use over Celebi (Shaymin doesn't get enough love :( ).
