Cel-shaded graphics are very easy to make since essentially all the details are minuscule compared to standard 3D. I would imagine the Wii could easily handle a cel-shaded 3D pokemon game with graphics up to Burst Limit standards. Or at the very least Budokai 3 standards.

Okay. Budokai 3 was a major point in DBZ graphics comparing it to Budokai 1.

EDIT: In fact I have some ideas about how the move should look, like possibly darkrai puts his hands to his head, the do a close up, then a void opens up and drags with pokemon in with a hand.

Ugh, finally. Serebii updated with the gist of what I've been trying to tell you guys for the past few days. Hopefully that adds credence to my posts.

I'm all for cel-shaded 3D Pokemon games! I, too, thought this would be a good solution for equalizing the level of detail in the 3D models of Pokemon across the different generations. Let's face it, Battle "Revolution" was pathetic. If I hadn't won it for free there's no way I'd even own it, because I can't justify paying 50 US dollars for HALF of what Colosseum on Game Cube was! That's a FOUR year old game!

It's sad, because the teaser trailer they showed of Wailord, Pikachu, Deoxys and Groudon while the game was in development showed promise. The end product wasn't even close to that.

Indeed, the whole destructible environment concept seemed pretty cool. My guess is that the game was most likely rushed, which is why it's lacking in quality, and why some advertised features were silently not implemented. Watching that old trailer again, even the animations were better in that little demo (Pokémon actually faint on the spot for instance).

Just something to note, Bulbapedia has a page on Ribbons, including some that are unobtainable as of yet. The most interesting are the ones listed at the bottom.

Tower Ribbons
Darkness Tower Clear
Red Tower Clear
Blackiron Tower Clear
Final Tower Clear

Could these "Towers" come into play in Platinum? Could there be multiple towers that you battle in, each with different rules a la Emerald's Battle Frontier? Of course, there's always the possibility they're just leftover data (there were some RSE ribbons that were never given out IIRC), but it's something interesting nonetheless.

Finally SR'able Regis. I'm pretty sure this won't stop people from SR'ing them in ADV since some of the Regis need tutor moves. Unless Platinum gets somewhat similar move tutors to emerald, ADV SR'ing is safe.

U.S. people could just get a wondercard of the regigigas if that's the case. No big deal...>_>
Or simply trade for a copy of it. It can't be the wonder card itself that activates the event, since from that page on Serebii, it looks like the actual Regigigas will be given to Diamond/Pearl cartridges before Platinum is released.

I think the game will just check through your boxes/party (probably only the latter) for a Regigigas with Rock Slide/Icy Wind/Iron Head and the event's OT, ID, SID and other random info. Not anything fancy like "have you gotten this Regigigas by yourself", as it doesn't want the Event; just the pokémon.

Heck, it might be possible one could just hack the damn Regigigas with the same data as the legit event one.

I doubt GameFreak would bother checking the OT, ID, etc. It's probably just a check to see if it has the three special moves, so theoretically if you PokéSav'd a normal Regigigas with any OT and the aforementioned moves, you could probably activate the event. Another problem with checking the event info is they would have to change it for the English release, and again for the European languages, unless they give everyone the exact same Japanese Regigigas. Seems like a lot of trouble for an event that might not even happen in the majority of places in the world.

I have a feeling that, depending on how Regigigas is distributed, the actual event of obtaining the Regigigas might make the Regis obtainable, rather than the Regigigas itself.

Regigigas is being distributed in July though, before the release of Platinum. This means the wondercard itself would occur on the Diamond/Pearl games, so Regigigas would need to be traded to Platinum. Unless the wondercard they use has some funky coding that when a game with it links to Platinum, they get the event (is that even possible?), it's going to be the Regigigas itself that enables the event.

This was my post from a couple pages ago, but it presents my responses to questions practically identical to the ones you are asking now.

For the last time. There is no proof on any Japanese site, not even a mention on a blog someplace, of a new form of Regigigas. It's fabrication is purely of the misinformed English-speaking fan community. It's as real as a fanfic.

If you doubt anything I tell you, go do some research on the game's Pokemon location data; go look up how MissingNo works, and why he even shows up in the first place.
(in blue)

I'd like to correct your lie. Serebii said he read from a persons blog that there would be a sky "gira/shay/gigas" about 1-3 months ago.(2/3 confirmed)Read the archived news. I'm not saying its true or false I'm just correcting your mistake.

Serebii also said before the release of d/p he got some correct information from that blog, and some incorrect information. So sky "gigas" is still a fair game imp.

What serebii listed - and very specifically as a rumor, possibly false - was this:

Several new Pokémon 'forms' exist in the game; Giratina's Origin Form, Regigigas' Sky Form, Shaymin's Another Form

We know now that "Sky Form(e)" is Shaymin's alternate form and that "Another Form(e)" is the official name of Giratina's current form. So the rumor was outright false and there's no reason whatsoever to assume Regigigas is getting a new one and a lot of reasons to assume it isn't.

It seems to be all of the form names were correct, they were just paired up with the wrong Pokemon. I see no reason why Regigigas couldn't have the Origin Form.

BECAUSE GIRATINA ALREADY HAS AN ORIGIN FORM YOU TWIT (caps).

Man, I love the internet.

Forget it. If you're not going to keep up with current events then there's no point in me even correcting you. Chances are a lot of you people blathering on about Regigigas don't even read my posts, anyway.

Pissing in an ocean of piss, indeed.

.... Sorry?

I was just browsing the forums and seen this thread was still going from the last time I posted in it, and I certainly wasn't going to read through ALL the previous pages. Now that you mentioned that you had made a previous post concerning the matter of the fact of Regigigas having an alternate form extremely unlikely (and used location coding to back up your argument), I agree with you.

I'd like to think I was keeping up decently with the news of Platinum, as Serebii, to my knowledge, hasn't posted any information saying the alternate form Regigigas was just a mistake. Reading your post though, the location data theory makes sense, especially if the game is able to connect with D/P (99.9999% likely).

Building makeovers? Building Makeovers. Apparently Team Galactic's been remodeling their HQ.

Happy rainbows on the second one, and the first looks much cooler.

The GTS (seen below) also seems to have been remodeled, hinting at new content. Luckily, I don't think the cloning glitch will be solved though, due to how the system works; they'd want to keep it D/P compatible.

Much more majestic. Not as futuristic, but whatever.

Not 100% confirmed, and not up on Bulbapedia/Serebii yet, so take with a grain of salt. Seems legit though.

Also, it looks like we were all wrong. Serebii confirms Shaymin can change Formes in Platinum at will. This seems to imply there is a way to change Giratina for Origine Forme to Another Forme as well. It also opens up the possibility that Regigigas could indeed have a different forme, despite the fact that we have seen one already, if this is feasible for Giratina/Shaymin.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Well, checkmate, Game Freak. You decided to do things totally different this time. Wow. I mean, I am impressed. Honestly and truly, I never expected them to handle things this way.

But before anyone starts cramming this down my throat, we never had any proof this was true until today. I concede defeat.

All bets are off for Platinum, now, guys. Have high hopes.

I like the new remodeled buildings. The ones that haven't been pointed out here are on the Bulbapedia talk page, like the new Cycling Road.
