The scoring didn't allow me to be as dynamic as we had initially planned. Changes can still be made to the scoring system if anybody has anything good to suggest. I will send out invites to the league once we have the 2 groups finalized.

im in.

4 pts- passing TD
6 pts- rushing/receiving TD
10 yards rushing/receiving = 1 point
25 yards passing = 1 point

those are pretty standard. do we want negative points? do we want point-per-reception? those can get kind of interesting.

I'll play but if someone more well known asks for a spot then go ahead and let them have it, I'm still trying to figure out everything that happened during the offseason so I'm kinda clueless atm.

I've always played with -1 for Interceptions/fumbles and no points for receptions, but I know some people do it different.

I'll post to show interest, though I'll understand if I get bumped out for seniority.

The league I'm in with my old high school football teammates has been running for 5 years and we prefer a performance league - which is essentially what GreenPikachu proposed for a scoring system except we tweaked the quarterbacks to go 3 points for passing touchdown and 1 point for every 20 passing yards (which I believe is the standard performance league point system the fantasy football magazines list, or at least CBS sports did). I was skimming over some magazines getting ready for my own draft coming up and saw less and less performance league orientated cheat sheets. There was a lot more PPR and IDP help guides but less performance league guides. I guess the system is more straight up and easier to understand so the magazines don't have to use as much time going over that system. With PPR someone like Reggie Bush gets overvalued from what he would be normally and the magazines decide they need 3 pages to explain that.

I'm in.

Well I liked the scoring system the past few years even though I have been burned since I started playing with other Smogon guys. I'll also accept any changes this year.

August 15 when I'm in Orlando or August 22nd, both in the afternoon, will be fine with me.

you bitches better not take my peyton

about the scoring i agree with gp with -2 points for fumbles/ints

I'll get in this, if possible.

EDIT: As for draft times, some time after August 15th.
Will pre-season games count towards this, because I think I played in a league once where it did.

MEEEEEEEE

But yeah I would be most interested in returning and hopefully doing a little better than I did last year (then again I don't think I will get autopick'd like last year).

Also, I agree with this guy as far as scoring goes:

Oh and for draft times, I don't care that much, but I would like for it to be after the final preseason game because I would strongly dislike if one of my players was injured in a game that didn't matter.

I have played for the last two years, and places 3rd in a 8-team league, but was 8th in a 10-team league last year. Both of those leagues were a Points-per-reception league, so this style would be different for me, with the decrease of QB's TD and no points for catches; but I'm up for the challenge.

As for a time preference, any Saturday night would absolutely be the best time for me!

nice 2k bro

i personally would prefer one oversized league to two undersized ones, but thats just me, and i can understand why there would have to be a split

I also want to say I am never for 4 point passing TDs, since it makes RBs even more powerful than they already are, but whatever. At least if we have to have 4 point TDs, make them get 1 point per 30 yards and not 50 yards I hope!

Last year was my first year playing [and it wasn't even smogon league] so I'd like to play, but definitely understand if i'm not able.

Ok, here is a list of people interested. I've only eliminated one person so far because they are "close to being banned."

Justin8649
GreenPikachu
porygon3
Gaborik
omni
Batpig
CaptKirby
moot
Loki
tennisace0227
zerowing
Aeroblacktyl
theamericandream38
Bran
Lord Gloom
Raistmagic
JTH

I'm leaning towards having the draft on August 31st around 9:00PM Eastern Time.

As far as points go, how about this:
QB
Passing TD = 4 pts
Interception = -2 pts

RB/WR/TE
Rushing/Receiving TD = 5 pts
Lost Fumble = -2 pts
15 yards rusing/receiving = 1 pt
25 yards passing = 1 pt

K
0-49 yard FG = 3 pts
50+ yard FG = 4 pts
Extra Point = 1 pt

DEF
3 sacks = 1 pt
Defensive INT = 1 pt
Defensive fumble recovery = 1 pt
Defensive safety = 2 pts
Defensive TD = 6 pts
Defensive shutout = 10 pts
14 pts or less = 6 pts
21 pts or less = 3 pts
28 pts or less = 0 pts
29 pts or more = -3 pts

I am still open to any suggestions, and I want this league to be full of active and competitive people. If you feel like you may not be active every week, I would appreciate it if you would eliminate yourself from the list. I would like to have the list down to around 14 or 16 people.

EDIT: Actually, after talking on IRC I think it might be best to just try and have 2 leagues of 10 people.

I would like to see DEF get 2 points for a fumble and 2 points for an INT if that is how much you lose for having them occur.
