Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 3 (Competitive Discussion)

Come to think of it, Worry Seed and Gastro Acid in general are useful for UU. Both ruin Clefable and Limber Hitmonlee, as well as a number of other Pokemon reliant upon their abilities: Lanturn, Mantine, Rotom, etc.

It's still useful, because the things that get them also learn a variety of other support moves.

In short, you can force switches with it, but you still cripple something either way.

Again, I would see it has more use in UU than OU, although you are certainly welcome to do so in OU.

You just reminded me that it also does a great deal to Swellow. x)

If the Pokemon already learns the move by some means, it's reasonably safe to say that they'll get the tutor.

That's what they say about breeding moves. Seriously, why the hell can Vulpix only get Energy Ball through breeding? Same with that jerk, Bulbasaur with Reflect/Light Screen. I can buy it dirt cheap, but he insists I breed it on him :(

Omg Ampharos gets Outrage. XDDD Its name does mean "electric dragon" in Japanese. :P Not that its useful...

Thanks for the tutors dbolt, but could someone check the Snowpoint tutor for Ampharos, Floatzel, and Rapidash? *hopes Amphy gets Magnet Rise*

Amazing Ampharos posted that he is working on getting Platinum changes and stuff up on Shoddy.

At least that's what he said.

So guys, be patient.

I think it's fairly obvious that the accuracy check of Hypnosis will happen in the game that used it. It gives Diamond/Pearl a slight advantage when facing Platinum players, but that's about it.

Great. Now my Choice Specs, Gastro Acid Plume will be unstoppable!!!!!

Flareon getting Super Power is teh secks, but we all knew that.

I don't think he should implement any shoddy changes untill every bit of info has been extracted from the game.

I'm glad everyone is pitching in with the checking. I haven't been on since Friday, but we're seeing a lot of results. ^_^

And this is the Brave Giratina I caught, no resetting, so I can't complain, really.

Hehe, I've just been thinking you could play some serious mind games with Rotom's various forms. Eg. assume one standard set involves Heat Rotom using Overheat. You could use Heat Rotom but not use Overheat, with everyone expecting you to use it.

Also how do the Rotom forms actually learn the moves? Once you step up to an appliance does it say "Heat Rotom wants to learn Overheat, but Heat Rotom can't learn more than 4 moves..." ? Or maybe you'd need a heart scale.
