Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

i ended up wth a bold Moltres bad ivs and brave Zapdos havent seen Articuno yet but if i turn off my game and recatch them they all stay the same. :(

i want to restart my game now :p

Edit: i think its just better to reset for them in Leafgreen or Firered where they sit still.
 
There's really no advantage to getting them in Pt over FRLG. But while on that subject, is anyone synching the Regis yet?

Yeah. its faster and easier that way... And Yeah, Has anyone here Tried Caprturing the regis? i think the seem forgotten..
 
Does anyone else get an error message when trying to go into the Underground? this wasn't a problem for me in Pearl, I don't see what could be the problem..

I'm going to finish some real-life work first before I spend mindless hours on a game I can't even read.

As far as the Rotom pamphlet, I got a Wash Rotom. Is that a decent one?
 
OK, I don't think I've fought any more trainers than I did in going through Diamond for the first time, but I'm about halfway through Victory Road and everything I'm using is L55.

I know they jacked up the levels of the trainers ingame, but I may not have to do any pre-E4 grinding at all. That's almost shocking.
 
Okay, so, I just started Platinum and I was wandering along the route east of Jubilife when I ran into this little guy! :D

I wish I could name him Goldoof, but the stupid 5 letters thing ruins it. I'll post it's (probably crappy) nature, IVs, etc. when I find them. This is my first wild shiny that I can think of. And it's in Japanese to boot!

Rofl *high five* my first wild shiny in the 4th generation was also a Bidoof haha.

Wait why can you not name it Goldoof? Articuno has eight letters in it's name. Tyranitar has nine letters. What five letter thing are you talking about?

In Japanese games, 5 characters is the maximum length of a nickname you can give to a Pokemon.
 
Heheh, too bad they can be chained :/ I ran into a random shiny Starly on a freaking Diamond ROM. Haven't seen an actual wild shiny in real Pearl cart yet.

I defeated galactic.

I got traps from eterna (by the way, I never needed to go underground).


Edit: I forgot you get an egg. She asked me to get rid of one of my pokemon, so never mind...

x.o Stupid Cynthia.
I got stuck in the beginning of the game, where it asks to you touch the Pokeball and Buneary comes out. I just kept pressing 'A' until the noticed the Japanese characters kept repeating the same thing. After assuming my game was broken, I just pushed whatever in frustration and *poof*, mystery solved.

Also, the funny thing about the Bidoof is that when I ran into the other Bidoofs along the route, I kept thinking to myself that they all looked gold, half-heatedly hoping for a shiny. So when this one popped up, it actually was gold.

I also wish I could video tape the footage and post it on YouTube, but I have no camera that works, and I'm NOT paying like $1267846 bucks for one! D:

you visit all three lakes, you go to the lake where Azelf is at first iirc.

Edit: i just got the Rotoms key through wifi wondercard event since already the 28th in Japan. :D

Edit:
Select the bottom button when choosing how the words are sorted.

The 1st word - 7th column from the left, 3rd from the top. Press A, and its on the right, all the way at the bottom.
The 2nd word - 6th column from the left, 2nd from the top. Press A, and its on the left, and its the 8th one down.
The 3rd word - 12th column from the left, 2nd from the top (an !). One down, and thats Wi-Fi.
The 4th word - 3rd column from the left, 4th from the top. Press A, and its the first word there.



Found an error with word 1 - fixed.
