Pokemon Platinum - The definitive thread: Mach 2 (In-Game Discussion)

I finally realized what struck me as strange about the new Lucario sprite.

They either screwed up the legs, or Lucario is double-jointed at the ankles. He shouldn't physically be able to kneel that way. As you can see in the images on the right, Lucario has hind legs like a dog's. He actually stands on his toes, his heels are higher up (the bent part below the blue part of his legs), and the knee is in the thicker blue part. In the kneeling image, the knee is below the blue part.
Either that, or Lucario has his "pants" rolled up higher :/
 
Hey, I went to all three lakes, beated the 7th gym, and I can't go to Sunnyshore still. I tried going to the top of Mt. Coronet but I always end up, outside on the other side instead of all the way up on Spear Pillar.
 
Did you capture Origin Giratina yet? if you had then you need to go back to Rowan's lab and talk to him to be able to reach Sunnyshore.
If you mean that you can't find your way to Spear Pillar then continue looking because mount coronet is exactly the same as it was in D/P.

Edit: before going to mount coronet you need to beat Cyrus in galactic HQ but that happens in D/P too so you should know it already.

Platinum BEFORE Emerald? I was under the impression that Fire Red and Leaf Green's Celio Network Center connecting to Hoenn was adequate proof that Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald take place at the same time as Generation 1. Or does anyone truly believe that the timeframe of Red/Blue/Yellow is not the same as Fire Red/Leaf Green?

Either way, while Oak basing it off Scott's 3 year old Battle Frontier makes sense, I sincerely doubt they will give us those event items in the game. But I wouldn't be too surprised either. The part that tries to justify the "too good to be true" with 59 more Pokes in the Sinnoh Dex makes me want to laugh though - how is a revamped dex "too good to be true"?

We will see in a couple of days though...

I think that LG/FR were not in the same time frame as R/B/Y. Due to the fact that in FR/LG Sabrina says that she had a vision ten years ago of a trainer like you coming to challenge her. And considering what i remember about LG/FR coming out ten years after R/B/Y it would make perfect since to assume this.

What about the ID, maybe you only can transform a Shiemi with the same ID as ìn the trainercard?
 
Once again, Arael (?) already confirmed that it doesn't matter. The only thing it checks for is the Fateful Encounter flag, something most people brush off as not one of the important variables. Nothing else matters- not Ball, OT, ID, SID, Location, or Ribbon.

I done beated that too then I done beated Giratina then I done beated Rowan until he let me go to the next town!!!

edit: That quote by Undefined is probably the funniest thing I've ever read.
 
ok, i finished the 7th gym, went to Galatic HQ, met someone outside, they then turned and left.

how do i find the key to get inside? Or, do i need to do other things yet? I havent really done anything else besides getting the gym badges, and the riolu egg.

Go to the other HQ in the city.
 
Really interesting, I say. I believe any other stationary pokémon do this.

Now being kinda off-topic, this whole Regi event is completely redundant >_> You get a Movie Regigigas to get the Regis to get... another Regigigas? C'mon Game Freak, you could have at least given new traits to the Platinum Regis.

And this Regi music is slightly different.
 
It's awesome for the Japanese players to get that level 1 'Gigas because they play by that retarded <50 rule, and now they can legally use him in double battles.
 
Well, they could have just reduced its level to 50, like they did to Heatran >_>

Meh, we'll only know if they will get something in the next games (GS remake? I hope so). They even announced DSi and all...

It would make for a hilarious "starter" Pokemon.
 
Don't forget to attach exp. shares to the 5 other random crappy pokemon in your party. With that plus vitamins plus pokerus it's easy to reach 510 EVs without leveling up.
 
You won't get the stat increases though. I EVd my Shaymin with Zubats and Gastly, but the effects didn't show up until I leveled up.
 
Do I have to catch/defeat Giratina to carry onto Route 222?

My games freezes when I meet Giratine so it's like impossible. ;_;
