I received a Brave Ditto over the GTS months ago but every time I try to breed with it it decides it doesn't want to pass on its nature. (even with an Everstone)
I've bred up to 25 eggs with it before it gives me a Brave one, and this has happened repeatedly with every Pokemon I try breeding with it.
Is this a glitch or a bad hack?

I have a question: What parents give Tentacruel Rapid-Spin? If its the Star's then how did they, being genderless, breed with Tenta??

Either it is a bad hack, or its from a different country.
Your Ditto might come from another language version of the game. If that's the case you won't be able to pass Ditto's nature. It also might be the language origin problem of the other pokemon you're breeding Ditto with.
That would explain it then, I think it's Japanese.

when using the power items, how does it work with pokerus? how many ev's will be gotten for killing a zubat(1 ev), and then a tentacruel(2)? just wondering

i find my trick scarf gengar to be doing too little damage, such as no being able to OHKO infernape

Dude, they each have their own advantages. There's no better... if there was a better, there wouldn't be OU there would just be the "bests"
Whenever I try to open Shoddy Battle I can this error message, Application Error. Is there a way to fix this, or get around it?

Let's see... Hypnosis, immunity to fighting, normal. It has Shadow Ball, higher SpA, not x4 weak to ice, more support moves, Focus Blast...
It lacks Earth Power, and Seed Flare, less Spe, not quite as bulky.
It doesn't matter what sweeper, it's about what works for your team. I recommend a tutor program, seriously.

Meta, try removing Shoddy from your computer then reinstalling it.
Control Panel --> Add/Remove Program ---> Shoddy Battle ---> Uninstall
Then try downloading it again.

Reposted. By "is it a downloadable file" I don't mean is it solely just downloadable, I mean can I download the files and SR for certain pokemon if I have a flash cart (not R4 btw, I have an M3)? These are the pokemon passed through mystery gifts right?
Pokerus doubles the EVs gained, KOing a Zubat with a Power Anklet would net you 10 EVs in Speed, and KOing a Tentacruel with a Power... Bracer?, would net you 12 EVs in S.Def.
You missed that Gengar also has Ground Immunity =P
With Pokerus, KOing a Tentacruel with Power Bracer would net 8 Attack and 4 Sp. Def (i.e. normally 4 Attack 2 Sp. Def).
oh lol whoops... yeah, that's why I had the question mark after Bracer, forgot which Power Item did what >.<
Gengar is also immune to EQ which it is equal to Skymin in that area.
But like MetaNite says, there isn't a "best" one. You can make it the best though, if you can wrap good teammates around it. :)
The way I did it was just pick one of your favorite Pokemon out of the bunch and then pick a good one to go with it, and just experience it. Win some, lose some. See what works, see what doesn't. And then fix it and see if it made it for better or for worse.
