If you have not heard yet the members card is going to be available December 1st through January 15th. If you have platnium be sure to get this wifi event !
 
It's going out over WiFi for Platinum versions only. First fully legit synchronizeable Darkrai!

...Oh God, just checked Serebii's page about the game. Nintendo sucks so much, can't they just give us the Member Pass and be done with it. Better than give a non-Synchronizable Darkrai yet again. And this one doesn't even have Spacial Rend :/

It's sad D/P will be left out, but it's better than making people able to catch D/P Shaymin, only to discover only Movie/Platinum Shaymin can be transformed into Skymin :/
 
I saw this coming ever since it was revealed that both Darkrai and Shaymin's events were updated. I wouldn't be surprised if Oak's Letter is distributed this way, too.
 
Well, Member Card's event will be from December 1st to January 15th, and Secret Key's event Round 2 will be from January 16th to March 2nd. Maybe will we get Oak's Letter's from March 3rd to... April 17th? And then, Azure Flute's only when the 12th is released?
 
Well, now that the precedent has been set, I can't imagine them not using the new and improved Shaymin event in Platinum. The fact that Flower Paradise Shaymin from Platinum can transform into Skymin is another hint that the event will actually be used.

GameFreak isn't really at fault for that; they never made the Flower Paradise event available to the public, and warned people who were attempting the JPN glitch that it could possibly be harmful to their cartridges. While only letting Movie/Platinum Shaymin transform may be seen as a malicious move on the surface, when you consider the fact that they never intentionally made D/P Shaymin available, it doesn't seem so out of line.

Anyway, I'm very pleased to hear this news. Sure, it makes Toys "R" US/Shadows of Almia Darkrai virtually useless, but the fact that they are distributing an event Pokémon (not just a new forme, I know Rotom was first) over Wifi is definitely a big step in the right direction.
 
No, I didn't mean it was a malicious move (even though it seems, but they have these new forms planned since D/P's release, so it really isn't). I meant that they just won't give Oak's Letter to D/P anymore exactly because it would be weird if your average 10-year-old pokémon player can't "evolve" his Shaymin to Skymin, yet his friend that has a Platinum can (that fucking bastard!). It's better just to weed out D/P altogether and let people have fun with their Platinums.

I wouldn't say the Darkrai is useless, it still comes with Spacial Rend, Roar of Time, and an Enigma berry, which the in-game Darkrai doesn't.
 
Hey, I just thought of a theory, is it possible that along with this ticket, they are sending like a patch to fix the Skymin and Giratina-O problems or restrictions? They did something similar to this with Wishmaker Jirachi to fix the berry glitch. It would be awesome if they did, but I don't think that's possible over Wi-Fi.

TRU Darkrai only boasts Spacial Rend and a Cherish Ball, while SoA Darkrai has only the special ball. We're just going to find that Member's Card Darkrais will be more competetive than the others. But still, they'll never have Spacial Rend.

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible. You are making contact with Nintendo's Headquarters (okay maybe not the right term), they could easily send you a patch along with Member Pass. But I think they'll only do that once US Platinum is released. Or maybe we'll have to wait for the Korean version... Shit.

Lol. Expect me to see a lot of this from me until US (Korean...) Platinum is released. I want to SR for a Naughty shiny Giratina, which would be useless as Another Form.
 
How does this actually work? I haven't even started the platinum game I downloaded, but this might entice me to.

Once the event is available, does everyone who has platinum have access to this event? What is a member card exactly? I have no idea about anything when it comes to event pokemon.
 
You'll need to unlock Mystery Gift in Platinum to get access to the event (instructions here). Once you have it, you can go to Mystery Gift and choose the option "Receive Via Wi-Fi" - I can't recall which option is, but there's only three so you'll get it eventually.

The Member's Card is an in-game key item that opens a locked door in Canalave City to trigger the Darkrai event.
 
So how do we know that the signal is going to be global? Couldn't they just broadcast it in Japan only or something? </ignorance>

And I wonder if they actually have something similar later on for those of us who don't import/pirate...

Good thing I SR'd for a Rash instead of a Timid TRU then, seeing how only the standard Timid sets can't really fit Spacial Rend into their moveslots.
 
Will all these events - the Secret Key, the Darkrai, the upcoming Shaymin one - be repeated for when Platinum is released in America and the UK?
