How do you activate the Mystery Gift in Platinum? I'm using the English-patched version. I have the regular Jap version too if that matters.

Can Sleep Talk select Roar / Whirlwind either on Wi-Fi or on Shoddy? And, if it does, does it keep or lose its priority?

An almost purely theorymon question that occurred to me while I was bored: would there ever be any situation in which it would be advantageous to have a completely neutral nature, that is Bashful, Docile, Hardy, Quirky or Serious? It would probably have to be a set that it entirely gimmick, like mixed Cresselia.

I've seen before that people would rather have a good natured Pokemon with shit IVs than a neutral-natured Pokemon with godly IVs, for example.

Really, you always want to boost a stat to your best advantage, so no. Entirely gimmick, as you say.

Well, ID and SID determine shininess. Also, because I'm Lorak.
The way your ID, Secret ID, and the Pokemon's PID interact to determine shininess means that's it's pretty random process regardless of your IDs. With Emerald's crazy PRNG and how it was seeded, you could justify SRing for certain IDs, but I believe DPP has better seeds.

Besides, when Shininess is calculated, ID and SID are combined. Just knowing ID won't tell us a thing about how likely you are to get shinies even if SRing was worth it.

Ok, can anyone answer this? I want to get the Member's Card but I don't know how to access the Mystery Gift since I never did it in D/P either.

It's Ruby the ID's for. :x But yeah, mostly wanted a low ID.

Ok, my Minun has these stats at Lv100 (HP-Spd): 252, 99, 115, 273, 186, 289. It's EV spread is: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spd.

When I enter this into MetalKid's IV calculator, I get this:

Minun - #312 (Modest)
HP: 21
Att: 25
Def: 10
SpA: 31
SpD: 11
Speed: 31
Modest #312 Minun: 21 / 25 / 10 / 31 / 11 / 31
Hidden Power Type is 'Dragon'. Hidden Power Power is 68.

However, my Minun has HP Ice. I know this for sure. Am I doing something wrong or is it the calculator?

Woo, solved my own problem. :)

I candied it to Lv75 and got these IVs:

Modest #312 Minun: 21 / 26 / 10 / 31 / 10 - 11 / 31

I entered this into MetalKid's Hidden Power calculator and got HP Ice 69 with the 11 Sp.Def combination.

Hmmm...I wonder why it's Attack IV dropped from 26 to 25 as I leveled it up...

Do what you want then.

Looks like a typical case of that nasty glitch in Metalkid's calulator known as PEBCAK. You better fix that right away. Problem Exists Between Chair and Keyboard.

Those SE damage-reducing berries (Babiri, Charti, etc.), will they activate if the Pokemon holding the berry is behind a Substitute?

*EDIT* Another question: Is there a guide somewhere for finding out what combination of IVs give you what type of Hidden Power? The only one I could find was the Technician HP article, which isn't what I'm looking for.

Maybe Naive to lower your defenses, so the sash will activate guaranteed at one HP.

For the suspect testing, there are three stages. What exactly happens at stage three? All the suspects will be tested together?
