I have to admit, The fourth version of Cala's design looks wonderful but I never did had a problem with the other versions. It might be because Smeargle does the whole use tail as equipment idea just fine. What's Caladbolg doing is reusing an neat idea from a pre-existing into something else I.E from paintbrush to actual weapon.
If you don't believe me, here's a comparison of the two concept.

It's cool Cadabolg, the tail looks kind of electric to me, it also looks like it could be dragon/fighting...
I'm not particularly fond of any of the designs so far other than my own, cartoons! Luchadore Squid, and Cyzirs Mantis Shrimp...

This is my entry.
I combined a few of my favorite seafood dishes together, and got this prawn/lobster combo. He's got a little stylized amateur boxing headgear for his face/shell -- and rubberbanded boxing claws because I used to love seeing the bands on lobsters when they were in resturaunts. They also allow him to be less of a mindless/enraged slasher, and more of a hitter/thinker.
How I color him will be up to how the stat spreads go. If he's going to be a special attacker, I'll probably make his face shadowed to give him a reclusive shy feel.
Maybe put a shell at the other end of the paddle, and put a shell on the other arm. Also, change the legs a bit so it doesn't look so much like Medicham, because right now you could pass it off as a Water/Fighting Medicham in the thread.

I can see Water-type, and maybe Psychic-type, but unless she has a pair of boxing gloves under that hair I can't see Fighing-type at all.
Well, SOMEBODY needs to do a pirate Pokemon. After all, pirates are the first things to come to mind when you think of a warrior of the sea.
A squid's head makes a wonderful base for a pirate's hat, without actually being a hat. With multiple arms, it can pull off Fighting attacks quite easily. Of course, you'll need the trademark cutlass and hook. The front two arms can be used as fist for punching moves.
Blacking out an eye can give it the effect of an eyepatch, although whether it's necessary is the question. A skull shaped design can carry make the pirate hat look more obvious, although it may be too heavy handed.

Anyway, I prefer my submission [and Cartoons! Mucha Lucha Calamar and Hazmat Lobster].
Modeled after a fisherman. Though a bit ghostly, I think he perfectly fits the description of a Water/Fighting type, what with the life jacket, fishing hooks, and a strong physique. I can see any stat spread being applied to him, and obviously he has many options for a movepool, abilities, and other attributes.
It's already a different color then octillary, but I get your point about something missing. It seems like there isn't enough on him.
How about a Sensei coat?
I saw that, but i already had the trident shape pretty well stuck in my mind since last night. so yeah, even though i saw your post while i was finishing up, i decided just to keep it. One thing about yours though, the rings around your guy belly are not that great in my opinion. just saying.

Then there is the platypus guy there, I had that idea for a while and figured it looked like it could be fighting type. The last is just a lobster/shrimp thing.

Heh that's pretty cool, and very unique. It sets it apart from Cartoons' and aragornbird's, while still keeping that Fighting vibe. I like it.
Wells heres Mark 1 of my submission, just an uncolored outline. As you can see, its more crab based than many of the other submission. I went for armor, giving it a breastplate and limb armor. The colors are going to be gold, red, and black when its done. The four legs are VERY shaky, any advice on anything would be greatly appreciated.

First time really drawing something 100% on computer. Hopefully y'all like it. Not a greatest artist, but if someone else feel like coloring or changing the proportion a bit, such as the head, feel free; as long as you don't change the concept and gives me credit.

I edited the post I had earlier since I made slight changes. Just genuinely looks better now than then.
Its webbed feet makes it a great swimmer in the sea.
Its muscles are ready for combat.
The fin at the top of its head acts both as a Shock Absorber, as well as allow it to easily change directions when swimming.

He doesn't look that powerful. Celebi/Jirachi/Mew/Manaphy don't look that powerful. Azelf doesn't look that powerful. I think that the sensei jacket means its powerful enough.
