Okay, it seems there are still a few matches yet to be completed.
I will extend the deadline to: Friday December 12 at 12:00am (GMT -7)
after this, Articanus and I will make the calls based on activity.

Hmm, well I have been more active. FiveK did say that he might not be able to compete.

Won against Fabbles, gg.

Edit: 6-0, since the margin of victory is required for points.

A team that pretty much counters mine, along with a little luck, makes it hard to win!

I will rise from the better bracket.

wow, I can't believe I just now realized this is double elim

well that's nice. >_>
No offense to the hosts but double elimination in the beginning of a tourney isn't that smart

In theory it's beautifull giving every person a second chance however in reality most people forget about the tournament once they've lost or don't care anymore.

I've seen many tournaments trying double elimination but they all failed because of inactivity and took ages to complete (extending deadlines and other crap)

Normally double elimination should only used when there are about 8 people left and know that only the ones who are interested in winning this tournament are left

Im sorry to say this but its the truth >_>

Mien:

First off: EW, Sonuis, Articanus and I all agreed on a double elimination tournament, and since the goal of this tournament is to use different teams and to have as many chances to purchase Pokemon as possible, double elimination is optimal. It should also be noted that there WILL be restrictions on purchases and useages as the tournament progresses, and thus is another reason we wanted more rounds.

As far as active participation is concerned, it's true that people will ignore their matches, even so far we've had several drop outs, but they were met in an orderly manner and we as hosts guarantee this will not get out of hand barring 1/4 of the participants becoming inactive, or some stupid shit.

For the record: if a player is not active in terms of submitting a team or completing a match, they will first be subbed out.
If a situation should arise where there are not enough substitutes, then the pairings would be redone for the players facing the ones who are inactive.
If both are inactive, we will remove the entire match unless one or both players can prove they were active.
If a situation arises where there is an odd number of players and no subs, then we'd give that player a bye.

So, simply put: If you're inactive, the tourney will progress without you. Articanus and I will not be extending the deadline for later rounds, since it only promotes laziness amongst players. The deadline will only be extended for the first ~3 rounds. After that, it stands as posted.

Im sorry to say this but its the truth >_>
Articanus and I are organized individuals, this won't be happening so long as we're in charge ;)
