Steeler, this is exactly why it is so important that a team like the Chargers never again make the playoffs, and a 9-7 team never again get a home game against an 11-5 team. Anyone can win in the playoffs (except maybe the very 2 or 3 worst teams, or especially the Lions, but remember, even the Bengals gave the Giants and Eagles problems this year), so unless we want to start sending random teams, it needs to be the best.

The best teams should not be allowing upsets when it matters. The best teams would not give away 3+ turnovers against bad teams, regardless of home field. The best teams are the ones that win in the postseason, whether they were 16-0 or 8-8 in the regular season.

2-2, not too bad. Let's see...for next week:

Steelers VS Ravens:
I'm going with Steelers. #1 Defense, and I don't like Baltimore for beating the Titans. So long as there aren't anymore crap calls (or lack of actually), Steelers should probably pull out ahead.

Cardinals VS Eagles:
Unlike the Thanksgiving game where they were away and in the cold, the Cardinals now have home field advantage and at least it's warm here. So long as they keep the stadium ceiling closed, the Cardinals have a very decent chance of making the Super Bowl (boy, who would have thought of that way back when?).

Not going to bother picking until I see how the week turns out, but the idea of a Steelers/Cards Super Bowl is making my head explode.

I'm with you there. Now here come the "I told you sos".

I wonder how the outcome would have been if SD had LT. Poor Sproles was a workhorse. I would rather see an Eagle/Ravens superbowl. Two very physical teams makes for a very intense game.

I just can't imagine the Cardinals going to the Superbowl since they had one of the easiest roads to the playoffs. Their defense can't hold up much longer and they will be on the field most of the time once Phili stops the run and forces them to become a pass only team. That's when the heavy pressure comes.

So yeah here are my picks for this week:

Eagles
/Cardinals
Ravens/Steelers.

Cards over Eagles
Ravens over Steelers

I hate both the AFC teams equally, but I gotta go for the rookie QB. Chargers disappointed me, I was hoping for a Warner vs Sproles score-fest for MVP.

Heres hoping for another ring for Warner and a trophy in Arizona. The people of Pheonix deserve something for once.

lol are you kidding me? lt chokes more than romo in the playoff. if chargers had lt, they'd probably be blown out by like 20. of course there is absolutely no way to prove or disprove this but seriously. he gets hurt EVERY SINGLE PLAYOFF GAME of this decade. i just can't take him seriously. they were better off using sproles exclusively.

also picks are next week as......

eagles vs ravens

i dont really have anything to back up my choices, but seriously, any logic anyone has is probably worth nothing considering we have an eagles/cardinals nfc championship game lol. i just like ravens better than steelers and flipped a coint with eagles/cards

NFC could go either way. I won't even bother to vote for that game. Gun pointed to my head? Fuck it, Cards.
Ravens going all the way.

Gahh...San Diego needs to try running the fucking ball instead of passing on every damn down lol.

They did try: Sproles had 11 carries for 15 yards XD

Well now my record is 4-4...going a perfect 4-0 in AFC games...and an equally perfect 0-4 in the NFC games.

But none of that matters because I'm celebrating my Steelers thrashing the Chargers!!!

Now, I'm going to go a bit farther this week and do point spreads for the two Title Games:

AFC Championship
Steelers 24, Ravens 12

NFC Championship
Cardinals 34, Eagles 20

anything but Steelers/Eagles

What a ratings nosedive that would be

How the hell would there be, "a ratings nosedive"? So you're telling me that more people would want to see the Baltimore Ravens vs. Arizona Cardinals? You're just angry/frustrated about the game...

Also, what is this all of the sudden Steelers hating?

My picks:
Steelers vs. Ravens--This is going to be one of the toughest fought football games that you will ever see.
Cardinals vs. Eagles--This is really just a coin flip here...

I simulated all the possible Superbowl games on Madden out of 4 times(And yes, i actually wasted the time to do that), and the results were

Steelers 3, Cards 1 (and winning by a field goal in OT)

Steelers 2, Eagles 2

Ravens 1, Cards 3 (I lol'd at this, but, who knows?)

Ravens 4, Eagles 0 (wow...)

According to Madden 09, if the Ravens face the Eagles in Superbowl XLIII, They'll win, with 100% chance, If the Ravens and Cards faced, the Cards would have a 75% shot, If the Steelers and Eagles faced it would be a 50/50, and if the Steelers and cards faced, The Steelers would have a 75% shot.

Remember, this is all based off of Madden 09. I'm believing now that 3 of 4 top seed teams are gone, anything can happen.

steelers :)

afc champ game is going to be so rough lol

go cardinals. i want to see the cardinals in the super bowl.

mikaruge that's a pointless experiment lol. especially with that small of a batch of data.

3 out of 4 this week, and last week I got 2/4 to make me 5 out of 8 overall.

I'm not going to go into depth this week, but my pics are:

Ravens vs Steelers
Eagles vs Cardinals

Yep the two away teams going to the Superbowl ^_^

This week is a total tossup. I'm going to say that Arizona will not be able to sustain a running game (terrible as it may be) against the Eagles d-line, so that will allow the Eagles offense to be on the field more, and Arizona's defense will wear down. Ravens and Steelers is going to be one hard-fought game. Steelers beat them twice in the regular season, but I think it'll be hard to do it again, so...

Eagles/Ravens Superbowl. Although I'd love to see the Cardinals in there.

The third time teams meet the games always get interesting, but I just don't think rookie Joe Flacco goes on the road in the playoffs, AGAIN, and takes one from the Steelers.

I want to see the Cards win, and wouldn't put it past Larry Fitzgerald to take over the game as a WR, but if the Eagles don't fall behind early they should take this one. The only concern I would have is if the Cards got an early score and kept the lead on them like the other games. Make the Cards fall behind and then go into predictable pass pass pass mode and then they become too easy to beat.
