Nidoqueen fell for the taunt!
Nidoqueen used Stone Edge.
Nidoqueen's attack missed!
Nidoqueen leads are usually Stealth Rock / Toxic Spikers so I Taunt, hoping to catch Junior and not allow any sort of spikes to come on the field. To my surprise, I was confronted with a Stone Edge that luckily missed and gave me a free chance to U-Turn. Under the assumption that Nidoqueen will simply Stone Edge again and assuming that he is also running Earthquake, I figure my safest switch would be Claydol who could give me a free Stealth Rock.
"Damn" was my reaction, upon seeing my opponent being KD24, but then I spot something else that would give me trouble - Crobat Lead. Obviously, Crobat won't be attacking something as bulky as Nidoqueen any time soon, especially in addition with the risk of getting Stealth Rock up. Taunt was definitely coming, so I opted for Stone Edge to deal enough damage as possible and see where we go from there.

Everything went the way I had hoped so far but I decide to jump the gun and just straight out Earth Power. I may hopefully catch something on the switch with a decent hit and damage one of his main sweepers. Deciding to forgo Stealth Rock is risky play but I figured I would need to pull out all the stops to win this match.
I knew a U-Turn was coming, but what was coming? I went for the conservative option to Stone Edge and it was met by a Claydol. Looking over my party of Pokemon, I decided bringing out (Sashed) Yanmega as I predicted a Stealth Rock. It, not only allows Yanmega to be used to its full potential, but also allows me to threaten Claydol.

Well I met something, only problem is it was immune to Ground and could easily kill Claydol. Stealth Rock will not be layed up now but I have bigger issues to deal with. Yanmega is awesome but I dont use a Steel-type or Chansey to beat it which means Specs Yanmega completely rips apart my team. My best bet is only Miltotic who can barely survive Specs Yanmega Bug Buzz.
Now this was a rather lucky move. Had he chosen to Ice Beam, Yanmega would have lossed its sash. I'm in a favourable situation with the ability to 2HKO Claydol at worst. Claydol was definitely not staying in with the common Specs Yanmega running around, but I decided to be conservative again, and to hit the incoming Pokemon as hard as possible.

Luckily, this isn't Choice Specs Yanmega. Yanmega has absolutely no chance of winning this match up so I decide on Surf for a big hit on the potential switch in.

Ok, this is freaky. He is obviously planning to just sacrifice Yanmega at this point, so I can just Recover again to make sure that after I kill Yanmega, I am at the best situation possible.
KD24 has absolutely has no option but to Recover this early ingame. I decided to keep the pressure on for another turn and Bug Buzzed, bringing Milotic to a mere 5%. Now, KD24 will likely expect me to stay in and keep up the barrage of attacks and will therefore take this opportunity to get some health up. Hence...

Milotic restored 39% of its health.
Give Junior credit, he absolutely lured me into thinking he was set forward on sacrificing Yanmega that I gave him an absolutely free switch into the one Pokemon that just completely shits on Milotic. Unfortunately, my only switch-in is Crobat because I don't want to bring in Yanmega on something that is likely going to Substitute (ruins my surprise and he could be packing Hidden Power Rock).
I managed to bring in Shaymin in untouched. I figure I need to keep it as healthy as possible in order to beat his bulky Milotic.

Like I expected, he used Substitute and to kill Crobat, Leech Seed / Sub is pretty common. To just break this before it even gets going, I pick U-Turn to knock out Shaymin's Substitute while giving me Shaymin a free switch-in.
Taking the previous advantageous situation into my benefit, I successfully set up a Substitute. Since Shaymin lacks ways to hit Crobat for a decent damage, I am expecting for him to either a) Taunt to stop a Leech Seed, or b) U-Turn to scout out my moveset, or c) Brave Bird OR U-Turn to break the sub and hopefully force me out. U-Turn can be used for two purposes so...

He is really just making life difficult for me isn't he? This was actually a really good move because he could see if I Brave Bird or U-Turned and keep his Substitute intact. I was forced to pick a new member before I saw his move so I did indeed choose Shaymin in hopes of picking up the Leech Seed. That didn't work out as well as I had hoped.
Ok, so I predicted correctly and substituted while he carried out his U-Turn. I was rather curious as to why he brought out his own Shaymin as they can barely do anything to each other, unless it is a Life Orb varient which could be a pain.

I decide to set up my Substitute Shaymin to test the waters and see what exactly am I up against, Growth Shaymin, SD Shaymin, or just standard SubSeed. With Air Slash striking down on my Substitute, I think it may be Growth Shaymin although it could still be an odd version of Subseed. I decide to switch back to Crobat to figure it out once and for all.
I Air Slashed to deal whatever damage I can before being forced to switch out. After hitting its a fellow Substitute, I decided it was a SubSeed varient, which has nothing on my own Shaymin. However, I don't really have an advanatage here either, so I continued with the spams of Air Slash to keep KD on his toe.

Crobat is absolutely the best counter to Shaymin and takes a measly 23% from Air Slash. Since it seems like I might try to U-Turn again, I take the time to Taunt to stop his Substitute attempt as well as any "Stat-up" attempts he might take.
Crobat is a true counter to this Shaymin set. Running Taunt with two Super-Effective moves, and taking a pitiful 23% from Air Slash puts me in a terrible situation. I'm assuming that it runs Roost and it won't be U-Turning after what happened during the last face off. This makes Leech Seeding the best choice.

Oh dear, now I'm completely shut down. The best bet now is to just let the Substitute take the hit to scout out its moves, while striking a weak blow.

First blood drawn and KD is at an advantage with 6 Pokemon. Sadly, Yanmega wasn't supposed to be a sacrifice. I was attempting a risky offensive switch, that failed miserably I should add, as U-Turn would have done an insignificant 20%~

And with Milotic, I can't do that. I U-Turn out to Hariyama who takes very little damage from Life Orb Ice Beam. I am using Sub Punch Hariyama who works extremely well lategame when their walls have been somewhat weakened. Fearing Life Orb Surf and knowing Milotic has a pitifully low Speed stat, I switch back to Shaymin to take the Surf and hopefully get set up to do some damage.
We both know Crobat won't be staying in on Suicune, and so I Ice Beamed for another conservative attack - I usually don't play this conservatively. With the low damage delt and the fact that Hariyama isn't holding a Flame Orb or Toxic Orb, I concluded that Thick Fat saved him from a devastating blow. Surf will do a lot of damage so here goes nothing...

Yup, correct again! Shaymin is running low on health now, so he won't risk another Substitute being broken. Seed Flare is coming, so Honchrow seems like the best choice with its resistance to Grass and ability to threaten with Drill Peck.

Yeah ... or not. Sucker Punch would be the obvious move here so I Substitute, hoping to get one free attack in.
I note that Shaymin still has enough health to keep the Substitute coming and I don't think he wants to risk an obvious Sucker Punch coming in for the KO. Drill Peck hits all of his revealed Pokemon for at least neutral damage, and I pray he doesn't Seed Flare again..

Spot on prediction here by Junior, he Drill Pecks which breaks my sub, reveals nothing about his item / set, and leaves me at around 10% health. Hoping it is Choice Band, I use HP Rock, in hopes of denting or even KOing the nasty bird.
The last turn went smoothly and accordingly to the plan. Now there's that same dilemma again: attack with Drill Peck or Sucker Punch. Either way, he could Leech Seed which would be annoying with the lack of recovery move and Life Orb Recoil. However, with Drill Peck, I could switch out right afterwards, cancelling out Leech Seed's toll. Upon reflecting on the last few turns, KD has failed to set up his Shaymin. I didn't think he would try again, hence Sucker Punch!

Claydol should be able to handle absolutely everything Nidoqueen has.
OK, so he has a good counter to a support Nidoqueen who can also spin. Instead of Crunching, I could just SR and lure out the spinner right? KD24 has shown that he needs his Crobat. If all goes according to plan, Milotic would be healthy enough to come in a few times...

Ice Beam nails Shaymin and now it is do or die for me. Shaymin has Air Slash and Substitute it can use, both of which will pretty much lose me the game should Yanmega switch back in (And he will most likely outspeed and KO with Air Slash anyway). I hope that Milotic can be ballsy enough to withstand the hit and win me the game...

I think junior won this fabulous match but he insisted on calling a tie here as Life Orb damage would have knocked him out after the Sucker Punch. Truly one of the best matches I have played in DPP UU and truly a classy opponent turned this into one of the funnest times I have had on Shoddy.
After this match, I can honestly say I was all Pokemon'd out. KD24 proved to be a notable opponent and forced me multiple times to predict correctly or lose. This was one of the best matches I've played on the Shoddy ladder in quite some time, I admit.

KD24 has absolutely has no option but to Recover this early ingame. I decided to keep the pressure on for another turn and Bug Buzzed, bringing Milotic to a mere 5%. Unfortunately, my only switch-in is Crobat because I don't want to bring in Yanmega on something that is likely going to Substitute (ruins my surprise and he could be packing Hidden Power Rock).

I decide to switch back to Crobat to figure it out once and for all.
I Air Slashed to deal whatever damage I can before being forced to switch out. After hitting its a fellow Substitute, I decided it was a SubSeed varient, which has nothing on my own Shaymin. Crobat is a true counter to this Shaymin set. Running Taunt with two Super-Effective moves, and taking a pitiful 23% from Air Slash puts me in a terrible situation. We both know Crobat won't be staying in on Suicune, and so I Ice Beamed for another conservative attack - I usually don't play this conservatively.
The Shadow Ball was met, surprisingly, by Claydol. Commonly, Claydols carry Ice Beam, but I didn't think KD24 was ready to sacrifice Claydol yet, so Substitute seemed sensible.
kd24 switched in Crobat (lvl 100 Crobat ?).
Mismagius used Substitute.
Mismagius lost 25% of its health.
Mismagius made a substitute!

Mismagius restored 6% of its health.
Brave Bird is my absolute priority here, Mismagius is going to be a thorn in my side just like Shaymin if it stays around too long. Hoping Junior sacrifices Mismagius and doesn't have a Steel-type he has been saving until the end, I Brave Bird for the Substitute break and eventually for a KO.
I have dreaded this thing all match, but luckily I'm hehind a Substitue. My Mismagius carries Hidden Power Fight, so the only thing left to do is Shadow Ball and prey for a decent damage.
Crobat used Brave Bird.

"lol" 40%. I need to get out if I have any few chances left to beat his Yanmega.

5-3 KD24
Junior doesn't play along with my strategy however and Milotic comes back in and takes the KO. This tells me two things: 1.) Junior has a plan for Honchkrow to sweep me with if he wants Mismagius alive and 2.) Junior probably has something he has been biding his time for to get a sacrifice. This could be bad.
After a quick evaluation, Milotic was the sacrifice as Shaymin is needed for Milotic, Mismagius is needed for Yanmega, and Honchrow is needed for both Crobat and Hariyama. Claydol is now just dead weight for him.
junior switched in Honchkrow (lvl 100 Honchkrow ?).
kd24: i didnt get stealth rock up did i

Hi Cyrus, you weak son of a ... oh wow. Predicting Sucker Punch because of my low health, I roost, knowing he can't OHKO without a crit ... which he summimarily hits. Big props to Junior here, he expected my Roost and attacked appropiately.
Lucky crit, hEH!
kd24 switched in Milotic (lvl 100 Milotic ?).

Shaymin restored 6% of its health.
Milotic's leftovers restored its health a little!
Milotic restored 6% of its health.
I bring back in my Milotic and amd confronted with that damn Shaymin again. With Shaymin and Mismagius both huge pricks right now and both within range for a Yanmega OHKO, I bring back Yanmega to Bug Buzz and hopefully eliminate one of them.
Now with Crobat gone, things have been made more easy. I have the almost perfect check for Milotic, which I have decided to not sacrifice, xD. Shaymin takes a rather heavy toll though, coming into an Ice Beam. It wasn't enough to bring it into a KO range, and there was no way that he would be staying in.
kd24 switched in Yanmega (lvl 100 Yanmega ?).

Yanmega lost 12% of its health.
Shaymin regained health!
Shaymin restored 11% of its health.
Shaymin uses Leech Seed which is not affecting me in the slightest. My only priority is to kill something.
I should have honestly seen this coming and Air Slashed or switched directly to Mismagius but what's done is done. I still canno sacrifice Shaymin, and Honchrow is very well needed. Mismagius it is...
junior switched in Mismagius (lvl 100 Mismagius ?).

It's not very effective...
Mismagius lost 22% of its health.

Mismagius comes in to take the fall? Apparently, Honchkrow may be a bigger part of his offense than I originally percieved. I expect Honchkrow to come in now and Sucker Punch.
Ok with that gone, Honchrow is clear to take charge of the show... for a while at least. Stupid Milotic, someone kill it for me...
junior switched in Honchkrow (lvl 100 Honchkrow ?).
kd24 switched in Claydol (lvl 100 Claydol).
Honchkrow used Sucker Punch.
But it failed!

Claydol restored 6% of its health.
Claydol is still useless (mudboy), and is just going to be used as suicide bait for Life Orb damage to slowly wear down Honchkrow.
Turn wasted but it didn't really matter as Claydol was a sacrifice.
Honchkrow used Night Slash.
It's super effective!
Claydol lost 53% of its health.
kd24's Claydol fainted.
Honchkrow lost 10% of its health.

I bring back my Milotic who can Ice Beam his Honchkrow to hell and also hit Shaymin on the switch-in. I don't really know what to expect at this point, all I know is that this match has been phenomenal so far.

Ugh, both of my remaining Pokemon loses to Ice Beam and now Shaymin is on low health. I cannot Substitute, and Leech Seed will be a one way ticket to hell. I jsut hope Seed Flare can KO.
Shaymin used Seed Flare.
It's super effective!
This could be game-changing...
Is this suspense killing you?

3-1 KD24
I did it! Milotic just KOed Shaymin and now the threat is over ... oh ... what do you mean the game isn't over?
Ok, why is everything weaker than I expect? However, I'm not on a disadvantage just yet. Honchrow has enough HP to attack 4 times, where 3 is sufficient to win as everything is weakened drastically.
junior switched in Honchkrow (lvl 100 Honchkrow ?).

Hariyama restored 6% of its health.
Honchkrow is still alive doh! My only way to win now is to wear itself out with Life Orb damage. Hariyama helps with this task early and now I must hope that I can win out x=
Oh... I thought I lost at this point. Only being able to attack three more times before fainting. The stupid thing on my part was that I could've Drill Pecked everything for a KO.
junior: damn

Milotic is used as a sacrifice ... wait, I still have two switch-ins and he only has 13% left (or I think, i'll be honest, I kind of forget. All I know is it was less than 20%). This means that if I can get him to use the wrong move on Hariyama I can win?
After this turn, I realise that it is a tied match. Great game, KD24.

kd24's Hariyama fainted.
Honchkrow lost 10% of its health.

With no switch-ins left to take the Drill Peck, Hariyama must die. The bitter irony is that the Choice Specs that made my Yanmega break through his team are now the downfall of mine.
Oh ... and this:
junior switched in Yanmega (lvl 100 Yanmega ?).
Claydol used Earth Power.
It doesn't affect Yanmega...

It is worth noting that had I used Stealth Rock on the third turn of the game, I may have actually won. Moral? Stealth Rock is key to victory!

junior wins!
junior: nice game
kd24: nice match
junior: indeed
0-1 Junior
I think junior won this fabulous match but he insisted on calling a tie here as Life Orb damage would have knocked him out after the Sucker Punch. Truly one of the best matches I have played in DPP UU and truly a classy opponent turned this into one of the funnest times I have had on Shoddy.
After this match, I can honestly say I was all Pokemon'd out. KD24 proved to be a notable opponent and forced me multiple times to predict correctly or lose. This was one of the best matches I've played on the Shoddy ladder in quite some time, I admit.
KD24 Props:
Everyone did something helpful (except claydol)
Stealth Rock proved itself to me
Junior is awesome
KD24 Slops:
None really although I did have a few sloppy turns
Junior Props:
Honchrow for saving me towards the end
Shaymin to keep Milotic in check
KD24 for a great match
JIMBO
Junior Slops:
CROBAT
