Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Go to the resort area and catch a higher level poke and then enter all possible IV combinations. I know there are many out there that are doing this without and AR, all they needed was to get someone to check their SID.

You can SR normally, but obviously you won't get as good results.

Hmm ok.. thanks =)

Another Question bout this.. i haven't caught a random shiny on my diamond file.. so does anyone know if i can check my SID any other way.
I'm pretty sure it didn't say in the explanation :(
An AR seems to be a necessity.

Could someone move this post to the discuss my pokemon thread? I can't access it.

Keep or toss?

Posted it for you.. quoted and linked to your post here =)
I would say a toss.. it's IV are pretty low.
What nature is it??

Well, just something I've noticed:
I'm currently attempting to hit my desired delay/offset to get my IV abused pokemon. It's a 619 delay, 6 offset target. Whenever I don't hit 619 delay, I have a 6 offset. Whenever I hit the 619 delay, I end up getting a 5 offset (which is coincidentally a good physical sweeper set). Any tips?

Save your game again and try to do it right after the two cowgirl npcs have moved so you can load your game and talk to the daycare old man without them moving. That helps stabilizing offset quite a lot. But you might have to recalibrate your offset after that.

It's just a coincidence most likely. If you think it's not, and it may not be, but I doubt it, just save and go for a new offset.

ok, i think using a rare candy during the IRNG process stops it from working, i have tried numerous times, including non shinies and still havent even gotten the right nature.

See i go to resort area (as advised), and catch a poke (with FEAR ftw), take down IVs, usually 3 or four have IV ranges, which makes it very hard work out, and using rare candies reduces the gap. Then i get the ivs into the seed thingy, click generate (SID and ID in), everything seems normal on the RNG reporter, i find what i want, click the poketch taps, do the taps, then fly to solaceon, grab the parents of choice from box (yes i have 5 pokes in party not including one caught), put them in the daycare, ride around, pick up egg, ride around and havnt got a single shiny or right nature.

There a are a few things in particular i am skeptical about here:
- Happiness checker, to make the pokemon jump it requires 2 taps, does this count as one tap or two (i have been counting as one tap)
-Fly, people have said it doesnt affect the IRNG, want more opinions
-Rare Candy, i would think this affects it in someway

If we have told you it does not affect the IRNG, it doesn't affect it. Tapping it twice counts as 1 tap, so thats fine. Fly and rare candy does not affect it, but if you fly or use a rare candy when the happiness checker is open, that may affect it. Also, you have to have a total of 6 pokemon in your party while you are doing the taps, if not, that screws it up.

Was just making sure.

It says to have the happiness checker open when you begin, so i should start on one of them before it, and when i am ready to do the taps i switch to it, and yes i have 6 pokemon in party while doing it, Thanks.

It says to have the happiness checker open when you begin,

4. Have the Pokétch application showing that is before the Happiness Checker application. This is important, as if you go through this with the Happiness Checker showing you will not get the expected results.

So really it specifically says NOT to have the happiness checker application open. I'll see if I can come up with some clearer wording for that, though.

@ The folks posting and responding to "Look at my Pokemon". Please stop. It's horribly off topic and distracts from folks who actually have questions about RNG abuse.

OMFG, massive misread, yeah you should probably bold that part where it says the one before, Thanks a lot guys :)

Okay, I'm not sure how to explain this.

I'm resetting to get a specific IV spread on Platinum. I keep getting one of three or four spreads, but they aren't listed in the adjacent spreads with the spread I'm trying to hit. I don't get it. No matter where I look (believe me, I've tried looking up the spreads I keep getting) I can't find the spreads anywhere close to where I am. I've broadened my search to include all 60 frames per second, and also looked at more offsets. Seriously, they are nowhere to be found.

My time is always the same, and as I said, I keep getting these same three or four spreads but I can't find them in the list anywhere.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there something I'm missing?

What are the ranges of the seconds\delays\offsets that you are using?

The spread I'm trying to get is this:
4-30-2009
21:38
Offset: 3
Delay: 618

When I 'searched for adjacent spreads' and couldn't find anything, I broadened the parameters to (Seconds: 9-12; Delay: 600-660) and still couldn't find the spreads I keep getting.

My timing when I set my clock is pretty consistent, but even if it isn't perfect to the nano-second I still should be able to find these spreads with all the searching I've done.

EDIT: I've also adjusted offset, but my offset has consistently been 3.

Go catch a Pokemon after you get an egg.

Check the initial seed.

This will give you your seconds/delay.

Geenerate DPPt IV Frames.

Find your egg there.

Did adjacent results include what you actually got?

It's not the delay you should be changing, but the seconds. Usually, your seconds will be 11-15 seconds off from the moment you pressed the button. You should expand your seconds range to go from 0 to 60, just to make things easy. If you have Excel 2007, the Filter feature is very helpful for narrowing down your spreads.

EDIT: Also, where it says 9-12 seconds away, it doesn't mean 9-12 seconds away from the time of the spread you go. It means (in your case) 21:38:09 to 21:38:12.

EDIT #2: If you're mashing your A button at the start, have your delay ranges run from 593-624.

mingot, that worked, thank-you. Sorry if that was in the first post....

So, it ended up that this one spread I keep getting (one of four) is at 10 seconds, with a 600 delay. How is the best way to adjust? (my target is at 11 seconds w/618 delay)

Assuming we are using an AR to check IVs, which doesn't allow the codes to work after an SR, can we just hard reset? I figure we'd have to do some fiddling, such as starting the game when the clock hits 00 seconds instead of soft reseting, and take into account the delay of the start and such. Would it turn out the same though?

You have two options.

1) Mash the A button as much as you can at the start and look for a spread with the delay you consistently get from that. Good spreads are plentiful; you can ditch this one. And I think trying to time your A button pushes to be just a little bit slower will probably frustrate you to no end.

2) Set the clock ahead 18 years. The same spread will be there, just on a different day\minute\second, but the delay will be 600 instead of 618.

Re-posting since I think I got skipped. Unless Omega's post was for me =P (if so then I'm even more confused xD)

I use AR to check IVs. IMO, it makes the timing harder (it sucks), but hatching and Rare Candying isn't for me.

My trials indicate that the AR time from pressing 'START' on the AR to Frame 1 is ~6 seconds. So, if you want to start at 01:00, press start on your AR at about 00:54.
