Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

You want to put the parents in afterwords, its safer that way.

Ok cool. I just happened to try again, like I said before, and got lucky, getting the same amount of taps and coin flips needed. So I'm riding around to hatch it now.

Oh I know! Is it not working because I have the AR in the DS to check for IVs?

Doubt that would affect it.

Well this is my 3rd attempt. Trying to breed a shiny Larvitar. I tapped the screen the exact # of times, and did the coinflip, both times this time making sure to wait until they fall before I tapped anymore. Crossing my fingers this time.

You should be on App. #5 So you can directly switch to the Happiness Checker (even flipping to the Happiness Checker alters the RNG, the double taps + coin flips should be done in order as they take that into account and is calculated),

My trainer ID (58373) generates the following:

1011000001101110011

What do I do with the extra digits? Trying to calculate my SID btw.

Wow, really? I had no idea this was all so complex. I'm not gona give up though!

Hey guys, I am about to start exploiting IVs for Dppt, and need a few clairfications.

5. Catch a wild Pokemon, check its IVs and nature.
-Are you able to fly somewhere else and catch a pokemon? I dont have AR and finding IVs of low level pokemon are extremely difficult

6. Put the date and the wild Pokemon info in the Seed Finder to find the initial seed. Take note of the delay and the seconds.
-When do the seconds start? Is it when you turn it on, or when you hit continue?

Also, what does A and B mean the IVs of each parent respecitvely. Ie, Atk IV is A, so it will be the same Atk IV as pokemon A in daycare?

5. yes
6. the delay you get is from the initial seed. The seconds is when you hit continue.

Just to clarify LF's answers, the seconds start when the game starts up and are taken note of when you press continue. This has an affect on what your intial seed is.

Just a question to those who exploit for IVs- Where do most of you save (which side of the old man) to stabilize your offset? I can't seem to get mine down to where I want it after many saves. Also do you make sure that the NPCs don't move straight after you save? I've been doing this and just wanted to know if it's necessary.

Thanks for this post oddsok. I sorta posted bad answers, i forgot it was of IV breeding.

Your starting Trainer ID is Decimal, so when you convert it to binary you need to start at decimal. You started at hexadecimal.

LF you were right to start with. In that section of the steps the user is asked to enter the IVs into the seed finder. And then note the seconds and delay. Which are given out by the seed finder.

Where'd he get those IV's from? A list?
I don't know who posted that, but azelf is produced by method J. If you save in front of it, it will always be the first one in method J. All he did was manually search for a good spread that he could get. I did the same thing too already for a dumb one.

Pink posted that in his "Soft-Resetting for Legendaries."

Sorry, but I'm not quite understanding by what you meant by the bolded. The first post says "refer to the above" for Method J pokemon, but I can't find anything, it's all about bred pokemon. I guess what I'm asking is where you "manually searched' for a spread.

In Dppt seed finder, choose manual, and generate a seed, then generate method J list, and the first frame is the one you get when SRing in front of Azelf.

Still can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. This is what I did:
1: Had 5 Pokemon in my party (didn't say it mattered which ones)
2: Make sure you have both needed Apps
3: Make sure App set to 5 for easier access to App 6
4: Have out a Pokemon that knows Sweet Scent, go to a grassy area, save and reset.
5: Make note of time and sync it up with the DS time when reset.
6: Use sweet scent, catch a Pokemon, check IVs and Nature.
7: Bring up RNG, find the easiest seed using IV and Nature info, preferrably close to 600 as possible, to use. Did that, chose one, went under DPPt Egg, clicked Shiny, made sure my Trainer ID and SID were there, and finally right-clicked to find Tap numbers.
8. Went back to my game, brought up App 6 and did the taps ( In this case it was 190, I counted aloud so I wouldn't screw up. ) There were a few times when I went to tap and nothing happened, so I kept tapping until a jump occured, and counted from when they jumped. When I finally got to the number to stop, I waited until the Pokemon landed, before I switched to App 15, and flipped the coin the required times.
9. I went to the PC in the Daycare, deposited the Pokemon I wasn't using, including the caught Pokemon, and extracted my parents. Then I gave them to the lady, went outside and rode around until an egg happened, took the egg, hatched it, and it wasn't Shiny.

It's probably something in the taps I'm missing, I don't know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well, some mistakes i made initially include, you should not use rare candy or fly when either of the applets are open, if they dont jump its not a tap, and you may of made a mistake in taps. For taps, i would use a counter (if you can find one), but i just use Microsoft Excel, and each time they jump i go down one block.

Also, after i finish with the taps, i switch the poketch to the next thing as to not interfear with the RNG. Make sure before you start there is no pokemanz in the daycare.

The best thing to do when you hatch a non-shiny is to check the nature, ability and gender. If it has the same nature ability and gender as the shiny pokemon should have then your SID is wrong.

If these details are completely different then try to find you position on the list. I would suggest you uncheck shiny only, re-click generate, right click on the list and do output ot CSV. You can then open that file and do Ctrl+F for the nature of your hatched pokemon. Then hatch another 1 or 2 eggs and look on the list for those pokemon's nature in that order. If you find them there, then that means you've made a mistake with your taps/flips.

I see. Well it's definitely not the former, I was quite surprised, the egg hatched a Quiet nature. So I'm guessing it's a flip/tap mistake. Is it alright to wait a second or two and do the double tap a bit slower? That might be why I'm messing up.

Why would that affect anything? Do what the other person suggested, just generate a list of non shiny and see if he first couple eggs are correct.
