Who, Butterfree?

There has been 1 or 2 anmie refrences, all the Hoenn coordinators heading to Johto, some refrences from 3rd gen with Goldenrod.

If it comes out I just might have to buy it; 16 embarrasment FTW?

From the pattern followed by Emerald, the DP anmie is coming to close by the end this year, in Japan at least, another Battle Frontier in Johto is where ash is most likely headed next.

Ash has 3 Badges and Dawn has 2 ribbons, and I don't think they are quite ready to write off Dawn, for 5th generation just yet.

an afternoon with my n64 made me wishful of a different game to be revealed.

how about a pokemon snap follow up? I'm well aware that it is probably the most unlikely thing that could ever happen, but really, pokemon snap was amazing. at this stage in the game i'd much rather gain a pokemon snap game than a G/S remake.

Just getting my pokemon snap love out of my system here, thats all.

I don't think they'll announce two Nintendo Snap remakes, but it would be fun if they make a wario ware style DS game where it has stuff like Pokemon Snap, Hey You, Pikachu! and Pokemon Pinball all on one cart.

Yes, I'm actually thinking like most people in this thread: I'm looking at a Gold/Silver remake too. I've been hoping for one but really not expecting one for a few years now, and finally it looks like it's all coming together.

If it happens Feraligatr has maybe the best level-up moveset of all time. Aqua Tail, Crunch, Superpower... There was a fourth good move but I'm forgetting it now, probably due to lack of sleep.

edit: thanks EeveeSkitty, I was thinking of Ice Fang.

I am a Waterfall kind of guy personally. I wonder what interesting tutors they would have? They can't possibly bring back Curse as a TM, will they?

What about Lugia in XD, Ho-oh in Colo, and the dogs in FR/LG? Even though I want it to be a remake it is still possible to get these legends

You have to jump through hoops to get them with decent stats/natures though. A G/S remake would certainly make it easier, although the dogs would presumably still be runners.

I'm hoping for a GSC remake, although it wouldn't surprise me if it's something incredibly lame. Nintendo has a habit of building people's hopes up only to crush them.

I hope this is nothing like FRLG, with the no new evolutions. Nintendo has been more open this generation to that kind of thing, so I'm hoping for the best.

I really hope they include Kanto if this new game is really a GSC remake.

It could be even more nice if they improve/remove some Johto pokes.
GSC is still the most unbalanced generation ever (Heracross, Skarmory, Blissey, Tyranitar, Scizor and the broken Wobbuffet paired with Noctowl, Furret, Ariados, Ledian, Sunflora and Unown, for god's sake , that's really unfair).
There are a few pokés in Johto that deserve a new form or an evolution because they don't have the stats or the movepool (or the typing) to be decent choices for battling, yet they are more interesting than other NU or UU pokés (hi Corsola, Magcargo and Qwilfish). But i dunno if they can give such pokés a new evolution and still being compatible with DPPt.

Well, GSC did debut the Time Capsule. While I highly doubt there will be new Pokemon/evolutions/forms, they have already set a precedent for an ability to do so and still have games be compatible. New evolutions just wouldn't be able to be brought into the Trade Room, and new forms would simply revert upon being brought in.

What if these were heonn remakes but you could go to johto? just a thought because it most likely wont happen, but yeah...

While Gamefreak certainly knows there is a metagame out there, they don't exactly care that Magcargo or Corsola are NU. Qwilfish is perfectly viable anyways, and easily the coolest out of those, so who cares?

I really just want the original game with new graphics, a battle frontier, compatability with DPPt, and wireless events.

@ viperGTS: I hope not. I just want my Feraligatr to have physical STAB! Atleast there will be more diversification in this game, seeing as pretty much everyone used Typhlosion because it was so good, but now Feraligatr and even Meganium(Dual Screens + Grass Knot!) will breeze through the game.

If they do decide to remake GS, I hope they do something about the Gym Leaders. Half of them had Kanto poké's as their main one.
Falkner: Pidgeotto
Bugsy: Scyther
Morty: Genger
Chuck: Poliwrath

Those can easily be replaced with lets say, Hoothoot | Noctowl, Ariados | Ledian, Misdreavus, and Hitmontop | Heracross.

Despite what everyone thinks or wants, I'm thinking since it's "big news" or whatever, it has to be an entirely different idea. Think about it, Dungeon and Ranger just had new games and Platinum just came out as well. Why would they announce a G/S/C remake without gaging the popularity of DPPt and riding out the cash cow? The only old-school thing I could see is a Wii Pokemon Stadium.

Man i'm afraid of getting a game like that instead of the remake, everything points to the game being the remake, but what if it's not? I'm going to be very disappointed if it turns out to be a Ranger game -.-

I'm interested in the new tutors (which i believe it would have), and some new things, Kanto may be back, but will the sevii islands come back too? (or will they perish in Fr/Lg) Will it be as big as it is supposed to be, or will it be "axed" at some parts again? So full of mystery.

PS I hope the male and female trainers get a new look and art, kinda like Fire Red and Leaf Green did with Red , the rival and blue (hah just realized that by looking at Diana's avatar).

Nah, they're clearly going to be announcing a pair of games. And besides, FR/LG was released in January 2004 in Japan, while Emerald was released in like September of the same year, and so, with Platinum having been released in September in Japan (Mystery Dungeon: EotS doesn't matter at all, since that's ChunSoft, not GameFreak), I don't really feel it to be too soon.

I was thinking something along the same lines here. But I don't think Gen 5 would connect to Johto. I was thinking that in a G/S remake they would include Johto and Kanto like in the original and include an extra area like they did with Sevii islands in FR/LG. That extra area could possibily be a town in the Sinnoh region. Most likely Sunnyshore to explain how Jasmine got there.

It could be an experiment also. Although I see a release kind of inevitable considering the FR/LG remakes, they might be using the G/S remakes as an experimentation process for what to include in Gen 5. With G/S being the only games where you travel through two regions and get 16 badges instead of 8, Nintendo might want to try this concept in Gen 5. Gen 5 could start out in a whole new region and then you'd travel to a previous region like Sinnoh. I don't think it would be Johto because then they'd be overusing Johto. Two games with Johto along with another region? But you bring up a good point.

About that...

The Japanese Name for the Sevii Islands roughly translates as "Seven Islands Region"

So FR/LG, like G/S/C, have 2 regions.

Why do I seem the only one who knows this won't be GSDS?

I'd prefer XDDS, since we all love our shadow pogeymans.

Speak for yourself, I'd rather have a reliable way to get the Johto legends than buy a Wii to get them (that is, we don't even know if they'd be there).
