Howcome Charmander can learn thunder punch and fire punch from the move tutor but not by breeding?

because those moves are not in its Egg moves? The question itself is kind of difficult to answer. The best I can say is that it isn't in the games programming to give Charmander those moves via breeding.

well i'm having trouble breeding elekid with crosschop,i've looked up tons of guides and followed everything but when i try to breed machop with elekid it says they'd rather play with other pokemon what am i doing wrong?

YOu are most likely putting an electabuzz, electivire with a pokemon thats not in its field group therefor not producing eggs.

You can breed a hariyama or machoke with electabuzz to get elekid with cross chop.

i've tried that and once again it either says they'd rather play with other pokemon or they don't like each other

If it says they don't like each other, that means they will breed, but it will take longer than normal. Unless you breed one of your own pokes with a traded one, the only way to get anything better than "they don't like each other" is to have both pokemon the same species.

What Pokemon should Abamasnow come in on or face? Imagine the Mixed Attacker set, but without the Speed, and it's on Wifi. I want to use some damage calculations to see whether to put the extra 76 EVs into Special Attack if the EVs don't help it survive more attacks if put into Special Defense.

I know bulky Waters are a good chance for the snowman, but are there any other oppurtunities I should know about?

Help Me Out!

Hello all, I am nearly brand new to the competitive pokemon scene. I was blissfully unaware of the intensity of the game and I have been playing since red and blue verion. My request to you is, I am trying to prepare for the Philly Pokemon Video Game Championship but as I have said I am new to the competitive scene and would like some help putting together a team. I know this may seem like a silly request but I would really like to not fizzle out in the first round. I can access pretty much any pokemon and I am working on the Battle Frontier now. Also how are you supposed to EV train with the level 50 resriction that they impliment? If you have any comments or any feedback that you can give my please just post and let me know. I am willing to go to any lengths to do well and any info at all is appreciated. Thanks for listening to my rant and I look foward to seeing your feed back.

Srry About posting this in the wrong place at first, won't happen again ^.^''

Check out the Strategy Pokédex here at Smogon to get an idea of what you want to use, and good RMT (Rate My Team) topics to see what makes the Pokémon work well together.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure how one can completely EV train a Pokémon outside of cheating or Shoddy Battle, so I can't help you there (unless the Pokémon's levels revert to level 50, in which case is done the same way as doing it to a level 100)

Also, try and make the question briefer and more on-topic; that'd make it easier to answer.

I'm not very good at competitive battling myself, but to answer your EV training question: just train against Pokémon that are so weak that you've gained all (508) EVs before you reach level 50, then train up to 50 on any Pokémon you want. This doesn't have any negative consequences.

Unless you mean the small difference in EVs that are necessary to max out stats in certain cases, if that's the case I can't help you.

How does Rollout work with Technician?

Does the base power double and then lose the technician boost after 3 rollouts?

So Hitmontop uses Rollout. With technician it becomes a 45 base power move. Where does the damage go from there?

I'm thinking this might have to be added to the research thread.

Edit: I also have a lead Sharpedo set viable in OU,UU or NU. I want to write the analysis for the set. I was going to post it in the Analysis Workshop and not in Project UU revamps but I wanted to be sure I'm posting it in the right place.
