Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

yes, that's what i meant (time and delay) and thank you. i think i understand it a bit better now.

i have one more question, i'm sorry. when trying to find shiny spreads, do i need an initial seed and are my shinies subject to change? is there a way to search them?

for instance, i searched shiny only for method one (with no initial):

Frame: 443187
PID: 9A7880B4
Time: 123:06:45
Relaxed - 25 / 8 / 27 / 20 / 30 / 30

is there any way to actively try for this spread, or would i calibrate as per the IV breeding process and my optional shinies would change each time (given the calibration differences, etc.)?

You need an initial seed. By default it generates for zero, which is actually impossible to get in DPPt. So you want to use the Time Finder to locate an initial seed for your shinys and then work from there.

Extremely solid. You won't have big issues being this consistent and being able to nail your seconds value every time. Good luck.

kk thanks mingot
and btw can i be in the game world and the reset like lets say 18 seconds before the time will it work that way? or do i have to hard reset and hope im lucky?

You should really do it the same way you calibrated to get that 14 seconds. If you want to do it differently than how you calibrated calibrate again doing it the way you plan on doing it.

How did you calibrate?

However you did it, it took you 14 seconds every time.

Well i SR'd to calibrate it and yea it took me exactly 14 seconds everytime so i should just stick to that?

What's the maximum frame people will settle for? I'm looking for a good Naive HP Ground spread for Azelf but the frames are listed at the 5000's o.o

Am I better off just going for a low frame, high IV for Azelf?

I SRed a Moltres at frame 3700 yesterday, it's not too bad if you use something like Excel to keep track of your journal flips and flip the coin to determine if you hit your seed or not. That way, you only have to go through the journal flips once (unless you miscount, which is a bitch) instead of every time you reset.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but is the whole Egg shinyness thing ruined if you Fly to Solaceon after hitting the Happiness Checker and Coin Flip the amount of times you need to? Because to find my initial seed I've been catching level 50 Pokemon near the Resort Area...

How can you figure out which parent is parent A and which parent is parent B? I might have missed it somewhere.
Parent A is the first in the daycare B is the second. You can tell by talking to th old man (mentions A first) or using the daycare checker app (A is on the left)

Damn. I missed my spread by six frame and I'm not sure why.

What I've been doing is start up the game, sweet scent to find my seed (if it is wrong I SR) if it is correct and run around with a repel on to advance the RNG. I then sweet scent again, reducing the number of page flips and to find where I am. I then go into the cave and if my frame is odd (I needed even) I run 128 steps to advance the RNG by 5 bringing it back to even. I then do my flips and encounter Heatran and it was over by 6.

Does changing direction in Heatran cave affect the RNG in a different way to running in a straight line? Can anyone see any flaws in what I'm doing? I'm a bit stumped.

EDIT: @Reaverz: No you can do that and it won't affect the IRNG.

EDIT2: I'm fairly sure that I just forgot to take away another 6 for Heatran. *facepalm*

EDIT: Ok, thanks for the report, found and fixed this problem so it should not be there in the next version. The stupid workaround to make it work correctly in this version is to enter a max frame (any number, does not matter) in the egg IVs tab and then it will correctly use the value that you have entered in the capture time finder.
Amazing, I was wondering if you know, why it worked on some computers? I mean, entering the Frame in the Legends Tab.

adding to what the other guy said, you can fly, but neither application should be open. So do the taps, and change the poketch to the next thing then fly.

Hmm...Mingot; the problem I had is fixed, I formatted my PC, and re-installed Win XP, and now it's working fine, if I enter max frame 10, it won't give me frame over 10 anymore =)

I got it when I used Fly with coin flip app still open, does that mean I f'd up somewhere along the line with the taps or something?

If your not using the rng reporter and have a seed how would you find a shiny from the seed or would it take a long time?

Guys, it's in the OP. You can Fly around so long as you don't have the Happiness Checker app open. Because when you land, it rerandomizes the drifting of the Pokemon, and that advances the PRNG used for egg PIDs. Landing or moving from one area to another doesn't automatically flip the coin for you, so the Coin Flip app is okay to have open. Just don't accidentally flip it.

If your not using the rng reporter and have a seed how would you find a shiny from the seed or would it take a long time?

You could hatch every single egg the Day Care Man gives you from the point you load your game and eventually get a shiny - after tens of thousands of eggs. But why would you want to do things the ridiculously hard way?

I understand that for whatever you reason you can't download or install software and I don't want to be a dick about it, but you keep asking -- At this point there is no way to do this without downloading a 3rd party program or spending an insane amount of time doing math problems. Even the Japanese seed application works with software you have to download called pidcalc.exe.

My current suggestion is to either figure out a way run software or to give up on the notion of doing this, because asking here 10 more times won't make it any easier to do by hand than it already isn't.

Sorry about the amount of times I've asked, I suppose it is a bit silly of me asking over and over it shouldn't be long untill I can download it so I'll just have to be patient. Sorry about that.

Okay, I just hit this spread of 31/31/24/18/31/31
I could not find this anywhere near the spread I was aiming for of 31/31/B/B/A/31, but I am keeping it. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

If there is no "Caught a pokemon" or "Defeated a wild Pokemon" on the page, nothing happens with the offset. If there is, the offset is increased by 2.

That's still being researched right now, but until then, we believe that's just increased once even if you have both or more.
