Shoddy Battle 2 (the future of Shoddy Battle)

I'm really waiting to be able to battle doubles, actually as my first time on the 4th gen. I'd really like to see new interfaces and the actual moves moving on the screen. Though I'm sure this won't happen.

Just wondering, this has sorta been brought up already, but you said you can do n v. n battles for any value of n. Does this mean over 6 as well? If so, would it support doing single battles with teams larger than 6 members? That would certainly be interesting...

But higher than 6 vs 6 is quite stupid, changing the game mechanics. There has never been any more than 6 pokemon on any team, and there never will be.

it would also be nice if it the battles section there was some indictator of how far along the battle was (like a score 6/6 for no pokemon down or something)

I know that this is a huge stretch, but:

Pokemon and Battle animations

I am pretty sure this was brought up previously. Personally I am opposed to this or at least would like it made opt-in. Animations make in-game battles take much longer and I feel too much eye candy detracts from the simplicity that makes Shoddy so easy to navigate with the eye. Which is partly why I don't think so many aesthetic suggestions (other than interface) are necessary. Things like changing backgrounds etc. I feel just make it overly complicated.

Also, original post says:

Shoddy Battle 2 supports both singles and doubles battles, as well as a more general mode that is not technically pokemon where you can have any number of pokemon out at one time (up to six).

So I'm confused as to what people are arguing about..

pkmn-taicho: why, you can just look at the PokéBalls?

The engine and the team builder work for arbitrarily large team sizes, but the problem is the interface. Things such as the switch and targeting system just won't transition nicely to larger numbers. So, while it's possible, don't hold your breath

Please please please put the pokemon's status on the switch tab. I just lost a really good battle because I sent out a pokemon that was sleeping, which I didn't remember because it doesn't say anything, and my opponent set up on me because of it. Sure I could have hovered over the pokeballs and found which one was that specific poke, but that's really not an excuse to say that it shouldn't also say the status on the switch tab, especially since many of us assume (after playing the real rpgs for so long) that status would be listed on the switch page. When we don't see it, we assume that the poke is in good health.

Yeah, I've been in similar situations before, simply just not remembering the status of the whole of my team, and forgetting to check, so it would be helpful is status was placed in a more prominent place, but, then again, we could just check. :D

BIG ADVICE:
Natures: If possible, have a little box next to it that shows what it increases and what it decreases. Or have a box for up and one for down and it will display the correct nature. Can't remember how many times I've had to look up natures.

EDIT:
Also, a Stat monitor would be awesome. So like, when you are building a baton chain you can remember what you have. So when you hover over the pokemon:
Lucario
+2 Attack
+3 Speed
+2 Sp.A
+2 Sp.D

being able to connect to more than one server? I know I would travel to the CAP server more often if I had something to do while waiting for someone to get on ladder.

Could we change the rating system so that your rating doesn't go down every day you're not on shoddy? What if your internet goes down, or if you're far too busy to battle every day, and this is the sole reason that you are no longer on the leaderboard? This should only occur if you're not on for 3 days (and then again for every day you're not on); this will allow for inconviences, whilst still encouraging people to play on a regular basis.

Something that really bugs me in this program, is the lack of an option which you can choose to block repeat battles. I'd really like a checkbox or option somewhere that would force the find tab to get me a battle with someone other than the person I just battled. Obviously it would be unrealistic to block all those members one has ever previously battled, but blocking just the one last battle would be nice, especially when you're trying out a new team and you want to give it a try against different opposing teams.

Shoddy Battle 2 hmm? sounds interesting. I might just get back into Pokemon hearing about this :) Do you think it would be possible tab the battles for this version? It would be very convenient for people, like myself, who do 2-3 battles at once.

I'd like to see the battle window flash orange on the taskbar (you know the thing I mean) when the opponent makes their move, so that you can minimise Shoddy and do summat else for a bit if they're taking an eternity.

Probably been mentioned before but a hard thing to search for lol

I'd like some way to avoid having more than one battle against the same person when using Find Match, it's kind of annoying.

1. Make it so that in random battles each pokemon has at least one attacking move. CC is fun but it blows when you have 2-3 pokemon that can't do anything.

2. At the moment you can't jump to a move in the movelist by typing the first few letters, and when you do it only lets you tick three moves until you switch the pokemon. Enabling the former would be helpful and removing the latter would make things less annoying.

3. Can you please do something about how shoddybattle deselects players when I try to challenge them. Sometimes I spent like two minutes trying to fucking challenge someone.

4. Have your team information accessible during the game (attached items, stats, etc).

5. Stop the ladder from putting you into battle with someone you've just played.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who gets disconnected all the time and it's somewhat annoying to wait for my account to time out before I can reconnect. Dunno whether this is feasible (!) but a tab in the login window to remotely disconnect would be nice.
