Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Is there anyway to influence the amount of double taps needed. Or am I just going to have to suck it and tap >500 times?

Tirsus, sometimes, that's what you have to do. If you do international parents, you make the possibilities of getting a good low tap spread higher.

Go to the first page, minusone created a shinyfinder program and if you know how to get IVs for eggs, you should be able to do it. Just look at the end of the first post.

Maybe someone said it before but :

About fishing :
-When you are fishing with RNGs, the starting frame is 1, fishing increase RNG by 1 (before you find the pokemon), so :
If you want to reach frame 872 :
-Your starting frame is 1 so : 872-1 = 871
-You are fishing : 871-1 = 870
Number of journal flips : 870/2 = 435

So, you'll have to do 435 journal flips and using your rod, you only have ONE try, if there is nothing, you will have to restart and find your seed again

Does anyone else get much higher delays from Diamond than Platinum. In Platinum, when I go as fast as I can I get a delay of 596-606 usually. In my diamond, I am getting delays higher than 620. This is a problem for be because I am going for a spread which has a delay of 596 in 2009 in my Diamond. In order to increase the delay, I have to turn the year to 1985 but my DS won't let me change the date to less than 2000.

I haven't tried in Platinum at all but my delay range on Pearl is 619 - 625. It's possible that Diamond/Pearl runs faster so the counter advances more in the time it takes to get to continue.

Same here~

My Platinum gets the same ranges as you, Dizzy, around 594-602. When I used to RNG for shinies on Pearl, my delays were also in the low 620s. Maybe try looking for a different spread, since it won't go lower in Diamond? ):

I haven't tried in Plat yet, but I've noticed that usually my Diamond is in the 620's-630's, with the very rare chance of 60_'s. If I were you, I'd just go for a higher one. It's easier to go higher than lower.

We have discussed the delay differences before. We knew that diamonds and pearls frame rate what higher then platinum. My plat is about 600, while my diamond is 620.

Is it Method J, and done like Legendaries at frame 1? Since the species is set but the gender isn't. Not sure D: Someone might have done tests already, though.

Yes, Diamond gives higher delays than Platinum. I'm sorry, but it looks like you are out of luck for that spread.

So.. I followed all the directions for using Wichu's, I put in everything correctly and try to find some spreads. But on Wichu, it only seems to show only some of the spreads.. I can find way more on the RNG Reporter Timefinder, but it takes too long (so I decided to try to use Wichu's). Anyway, after running Wichu's and I open the txt files, I only see 5 spreads (not even decent IV'ed), where on the Timefinder, I can find 100+. Do I have to wait a long time before opening the txt files like for TimeFinder?

You need to run it until it says "done" and asks you for a nature again

for the maximum number of spreads, enter 0 as both the start and end time

as soon as I put 20000 (frames? I put 20000 because I don't think I can do more than 10k flips.. >_<), it says "Done!" right away.. is this normal?

That number is not the number of frames you have to advance. Just try entering 0 (it says "for infinite") and you'll get a lot more spreads (it doesn't actually search endlessly)

Sorry to say but I find the explanation of 'delay' in the first posts a little vague. I'd be very grateful if someone could tell me concise and to the point what delay is and how I get to know it. I've tried getting shinies by using MinusOne's method, but I just don't seem to get it.

Before trying MinusOne's method, you really need to have a grasp of the RNG Reporter's method first. You can only really use the ShinyFinder if you already know how to IV abuse, which requires a more comprehensive understanding of resetting for delays. Once you generate your initial seed from capturing a wild Pokemon, there will be a seconds and a delay next to it. The delay, usually in the high 590s to low 600s depending on which version of the game you have, is determined by how long you wait at the Continue screen after resetting before pressing A. For the purposes of breeding, it's usually best to mash the A button as fast as you can to get a consistent range for your delay. :|

I would love to try this method for shiny eggs out, but I don't have any way to find out my Secret ID. Would anyone would be willing to check it out for me in Pokésav?
