Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Lightning: Could you help me and NSP King with our question. Since you've already done your Ditto, maybe you could help us with our wilds?

For the trophy garden (Originally discovered/posted by Wild Eep):

We aren't 100% certain on the Platinum encounter tables quite yet, but we know that the most recent addition to the Trophy Garden will occupy slot 6 (80 < value < 85). The second most recent addition to the Trophy Garden will occupy slot 7 (85 < value < 90). So as long as you manipulate the Trophy Garden to your advantage, you will be able to find a Ditto in 10% of all frames.

Didn't see it.

Ditto is the 80-85% slot for the newer pokemon in the trophy garden, while the older pokemon in it is 85-90. hope that is good enough since i think you know how to calculate it.

1)Yes, every reset you have to put the time back.
2)You want to keep a consistent speed so that it's easier next time you go for another abuse. I usually just use the beat of a song and keep up with that.
3)Yes, the time on your DS is what you put into the seed finder.

For me, on my Platinum, I just press the buttons as fast as I can, and I can hit the same spread often as long as my thumb doesn't get tired and miss a press.

Thanks LF, thats goign to save me alot of time

second question
if the when the journal comes up there is a caught pokemon on it, does it advancce the frame by two?

I think LF mentioned this somewhere around page 60, standing on the left side of the Day-Care man (North in the DS point of view) usually gets you a certain frame more consistently and thus will save time and effort. Standing right in front of the Day-Care man makes the frame fluctuate occasionally, so maybe it should be noted in the OP?

No, no no. It was misunderstanding when if they were off screen. It does not help, but everyone does their own thing that they think helps them do it faster and easier.

Really? Oddly when I forgot to save at that spot my frame fluctuated from 9~11 D: now I can hit a consistent frame of 3. It works for me I guess =/

Okay, I just checked the spreads and one of them is 87, so that means it's in slot 7. I'll try it later. But quick thing, which of you two are right? LF is saying that it will be in the older slot, while Mingot is saying it'll be in the newer. I guess I can try both (starting with new), since I haven't done a daily pokemon yet in my platinum game. I'll let you guys know what I find. Also, can I just change the date on the DS for the daily pokemon? Or will I have to let it go over itself?

We both agreed what it will be. You just misread I guess.

Just wondering:

Is D/P/Pt legend abuse really supposed to be so hard? It feels like both Emerald legend abuse and D/P/Pt egg abuse rolled into one. I haven't managed to hit my target seed once, and having Emerald RNGed 6 shiny legends (well, 5 but I had to do Regice twice because the first one committed suicide) and countless shiny eggs on D/P/Pt, this feels unnaturally difficult.

So is it supposed to be this hard, or do I just suck at at?

It's easier. You have to hit delay just like eggs, but you don't have the frame problem. The frame is set and doesnt change.

Yeah, I did mis-read. I guess I'll have to change date after bringing in one so I can do it.
@Zog: One thing to remeber though is make sure you have a caught pokemon page before you start. I forgot to on Cresselia, and I realized after I hit the delay the first time (which took like 30 minutes).

From the OP:

- Opening the Journal, or having it automatically open, when there is a caught or defeated Pokémon on the first page advances the RNG by 2 seeds. There are a number of formats for the caught Pokémon text. Those listed below have been verified to advance the RNG.

'Caught a female BIDOOF.'
'Caught AZELF (LATE NIGHT).'
'UXIE was caught (DAY).'
'Defeated a male BIDOOF.'

Alright, so I have this good spread and I want to catch a Pokemon in the wild with it. But the Pokemon I want to catch is a Shuckle- the chance isn't listed in the chart?

The chart isn't going to show all the swarm pokes possible I believe. Just find another swarm pokemon and see where it fits in the chart. If you tell me where you are doing it I can try to help find which slot.

I believe Shuckle is a Game-Insert Pokemon.

Anyways, I did the math and I got Slot 0.
