hey everyone, i really need help on my battletower team.. i always can get to 30-50 battles, but i only beat palmer the second time once.. and it was mostly luck.. i always breed for decent to good iv's and ev train but i keep getting smashed.. anyway i want to try a sandstorm or raindance team... will one of these work you think? anyway on my sandstorm team im thinking hippodon( better for tanking and stealth rock lead?) or tyrantitar ( sweeping of course) and magnazone( so he can block one hit ko's with sturdy and also help destory water... who should be the third on a sandstorm team? i think i might need something to kill a blissey or something right?i need suggestions and help guys then ill breed the pokes for good iv's.

I just have a simple question of what to run on a lead Hippowdon. Here's what I've currently been running:

Hippowdon @ Leftovers
Nature: Impish
252 HP / 168 Def / 88 SpD
~ Earthquake
~ Slack Off
~ Stealth Rock
~ Roar

My question is this: which move really is the most usefull in the last spot for general purposes? I've been finding that Hippowdon gets walled in the lead spot by Gyra/Azelf/Bronzong/etc. without SE, as my main purpose for this Hippo is to set up Stealth Rock and Sandstream, and then switch out with as much health as possible to use as a wall later. My only problem is that without Roar, I run into problems with phazing. Any help?

Bronzong can't really be dealt with, as Crunch doesn't even 2HKO. Stone Edge can hit both Azelf and Gyara, but Thunder Fang will guarantee you the OHKO on Gyara. The lose of phasing doesn't hurt a lot, unless you're afraid to death from Baton Pass chains.

Just use a team from this topic:

People have used all of those teams to great success, it would be foolish to not use one of them.

Unless of course, you want to be original/set your own record.

Anyway, you can forget Stealth Rock - in 3 vs 3 matches it doesn't make a big difference.

Latias (Trick lead)
Scizor
Tyranitar

I thought of that in seconds, but it look like a solid 3-Poke combo. It barely relies on Sandstorm, but trust me, it would get annoying sitting through countless weather notifications.

does the alternate Rotom formes have identical movesets that ONLY differ in their respective exclusive move??
i'm not quite sure which of the five i'm gonna place inside my team

Yes. Their movepools are identical except for the special move.

If you are going to run a set that doesn't use its special move, then you can run a cut forme to bluff Leaf Storm, or Oven forme to bluff Overheat.

Here's a simple question.
There is supposed to be someone on Route 212 who exchanges weather TMs for shards (who is not the normal move tutor). Having checked several sites and FAQs, and searching endlessly on Route 212, I can't find where this person is supposed to be. I'm playing the Japanese version of Platinum, but I don't think that would made a difference. Help?

The guy that exchanges shards for weather TMs is only in Diamond and Pearl, but not Platinum (it was replaced by a move tutor guy in Platinum).

If you have two gba games, you can do this:

Migrate over 6 from the game you want to transfer them over from (Game A).

Set the DS's internal clock ahead one day.

Insert Game B, and choose migrate. When the game aligns with the current time, you can remove that game, throw in Game A, and transfer more Pokemon. You can do this as many times as need be, iirc.

what is a day ahead in military time?

Is there a thread here on Smogon that suggests good Pokemon combinations? Like which Pokemon benefit each other most when on the same team? Or team combinations? I've looked around but can't seem to find anything like it.

Adding to what ReyScarface said, there are also good two Pokemon combinations that would be good to know about too. I'm sure you've heard of the CeleTran combo (Celebi+Heatran)? There are others like ZoneMence that are also effective. It doesn't really answer your question but it somewhat pertains and its always good information to know.

Do Pokémon keep their stat changes when they are switched out?

Things like Intimidate, Confusion, Swords Dance, Curse, Calm Mind, etc., do not reamain when a pokemon switches out.

However, Speed cuts from Paralysis and Burns (which reduce attack) remain for as long as the pokemon has that status infliction.

My question: I'm currently SR'ing for a Timid Magnemite, and I have hatched about 55 eggs. Not a single one has been Timid natured so far, and I tend to get the same 5 natures very frequently (in my case Jolly, Brave, Naive, Rash, and Bold) and no matter what, I can't find a timid egg. Neither parents are holding an everstone. Has anyone encountered something like this before? Anyone know any tips for helping this problem?

I've never encountered a problem like this before (my friend has, she bred 3 boxes of porygon, never getting the right nature even when the parent was holding an everstone). Other than getting a parent with a timid nature, just keep trying.

In the monthly stats thread, there is a section which shows you what pokemon gets paired which what other pokemon the most.

Go to "Link to Teammate stats" here

I see, that's perfect. This is what I was looking for. Thanks guys!
