Ok thanks, those are all pretty easy to nab in my Pearl, and then just shift over. I can't catch the ones that require dongle, but everything else should be easy :)

Also, are the Mystery Dungeon or Ranger games worth picking up for any reason?

I don't think so, unless you really the Manaphy egg.

Hi guys, in regards to GTS, how come sometimes there are an overload of trainers with some of my searches and sometimes the search come up with virtually no results. and then if I try again in like 2 minutes there is an overall surge of results? (I assume that it's a connection problem... )
If so, is there any way around it?
Thanks.

I know if you offer a Pokemon, you'll get more trainers while searching. Otherwise, not sure.

Different people have different tastes. I enjoyed both of those spin-off series, although there's no connectivity between them and the main games apart from Ranger 1's Manaphy egg and Ranger 2's Manaphy egg, Aura Sphere Riolu, and Darkrai. Sadly, the Ranger 2 stuff was gotten over wi-fi ages ago.

So: for fun, it depends on your taste in games. For conneting with the main games, MD is a bust and Ranger 2's stuff is unobtainable now, unless you somehow find a pre-owned copy where the owner got the special missions but never sent the Pokemon. Ranger 1's Manaphy egg is gotten with a password-unlocked mission, but because it's older you're less likely to find a copy with a Manaphy egg still in there.

One more- why does a new simple questions thread need to be made every so and then?
I believe they remake the thread to keep the thread from getting too big and cluttered, but that's just my assuption.

Questions about sleep clause:

If I have a Cress w/
Rest
Sleep Talk
Psycho Shift
Filler

And one of the opponents Pokes are asleep, am I not allowed to use Sleep Talk when I am asleep because it has a chance of Psycho Shifting Sleep? Or can I still use it, and I'll just have to forfeit if it does indeed cause the opponent to sleep? Or does it not count for sleep clause at all?

Still no answer to this..

Um. Can't you just try it out on Shoddy?

Considering I will be using this on wifi and I need clarification the rule itself, no. I will try it on shoddy, but I don't know what that will accomplish..

edit: I'm pretty sure it will just say "but it failed"...

edit2:
Cresselia is fast asleep!
Cresselia used Sleep Talk.
Cresselia used Psycho Shift.
Magnezone used Thunderbolt.
Cresselia lost 33% of its health.

nothing happened at all.

Now in regards to the rule, am I not allowed to use sleep talk since it has the CHANCE of sleeping the opponent, or am I only disqualified if it DOES choose psycho shift and sleep them rather than the other move? (in this case it was psychic..)

This. If Sleep Clause is in Play, and you use Sleep Talk and it picks Psycho Shift while one of your opponent's other Pokemon was already asleep, then that would break the clause, and you'd be forced to forfiet.

@D3FAULT- You could try it on Shoddy, just disable the sleep clause. I'm pretty sure you can't get Sleep Clause in-game, so that's about as close as you[re gonna get to seeing without actually doing it in a battle.

Perhaps a practice battle would be a good idea? Or you could bring it up in the Shoddy chat and see if anyoneelse knos.

I know how it would work in-game, but I was curious as to how the Sleep Clause rule treats a move like that, since it only has a CHANCE of sleeping, and is not an actual sleep-inducing move in and of itself.

EDIT: Beaten.

Anyone know what HM's are needed to reach Heatran?

Rock Smash and Strength, though I believe Rock Climb can be used o grab some extra goodies.

Just bring along a/Rock Smash/Rock Climb/Strength/Surf Bibarel and you'll be fine.

I have a question. If a Wobbuffet switched into a Scarfed Darkrai's Dark Void to take the sleep, then Darkrai would be forced to use Dark Void again because Shadow Tag won't let it switch. Would this force the opponent to break sleep clause and therefore end in their disqualification or is it an exeption due to the forced circumstances?

Dark Void would fail in this case(after Wobb falls asleep).

edit@post below mine: Dark Void still fails.

I mean after Wobbuffet falls asleep and then switches to the next pokemon. Darkrai would have to use Dark Void once more and therefore break sleep clause.

I think they meant when playing the actual games, would they get disqualified then. I'd say that they wouldn't, because the opponent gave them no choice. I remember seeing a Youtube video where the person was saying "lock the enemy into a sleep move and switch, disqualify them on grounds of sleep clause" and impling it was a proper strategy.

Must I use HP Electric on SpecsVappy? it seems a bit unessecary...Hydro Pump/Blizzard/Wish/Surf for filler?
Pretty much, as one of the main points of running Vaporeon is to deal with Gyaraods, and without HP Electric, it can't really do that, instead winding up walled itself. HP-Electric also gives it bolt-beam like coverage. It will definitely come in more useful than having both Surf and Hydro Pump on the same set, where the differences are situational.

Can I run Wish/Surf/Aqua Ring/Blizzard with Modest 252SpA?
You could, but Aqua Ring's generally not worth running. It just doesn't heal enough to be worth it, only restoring an equivalent amount of HP to Leftovers, not enough to really make up for the damage should you be attacked. And since you're using Choice Specs, you'll have to switch out after you use Aqua Ring, which makes it pointless, since the effect disappears if you switch out without using Baton Pass. Surf/Blizzard/HP-Electric/Wish (or other filler) would probably be best.
