Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Kakashi, emloop fails to show me the second timer as well, so we are both unable to calculate this "white screen" delay or anything else for that matter, unless you try adding whatever seconds you got to the green timer, that's the only solution I see

im going to take a break for today, perhaps we can solve this tomorrow

Does calibrating regularly not take the white screen delay into account?

Flurries, it does and it doesn't. By that, I mean the delay will not factor the white screen into account. However, the second you hit continue does factor this is, because it is the physical time you hit continue, whereas the delay counter doesn't start until the white screen clears. Hope I helped.

Well my calibrating is fine, so I think it's Wulf that needs your help. =/
All I know is it should be fairly consistent every time.

Help!!!
If i have on my jorunal (for example)

31 july (Caught bidoof)
30 july (caught bidoof)

If i press A and then B, it counts as 4 RNG advance? or just as 2 RNG advance?

Or do i need to flip back to a page free of pokemon and then to a page with a pokemon caught?

Cause my brother just did the first option for get a fame of 5222 (he did that for reduce his flips) and instead of that he got a frame of 2614 xD

5222-1 = 5221 - 5 (128 steps) = 5216 / 2= 2608 flips

2614-1 = 2613 - 5 (128 Steps) = 2608/ 2 = 1304 flips

It counts as 4 altogether Dark, each flip initially counts as two when there is a caught or defeated Pokemon on the page.
And then why my brother got a frame of 2614 instead of 5222 :[?

He was doing this

July 30 caught bidoof > july 31 Caugh bidoof = 4

and he did 1304 flips x4 = 5216 frame
plus the 1 starting frame and the 5 frames that he got for walking 128 steps

Uh, how many times did he press the buttons, each, in total?

1304 for A *and* 1304 for B?

If yes, and he got half the result he was expecting then one of the pages did not contain an RNG advancing message. Period.

Perhaps he should try something on a lower frame and work out exactly how to do it before attempting another 5000+ frame monster, too.

he clicked 1304 between the two buttons xD so 652 for A and 652 for B

So if each time he pressed a button the effect was to advance to a page with a caught Pokemon and each of these page views advanced the RNG by 2, then I think it should be apparent what the issue was.

After you catch one, you just faint the others, defeat the Elite Four again, and then talk to Oak, who will release them AGAIN but with different IVs/Nature
Based on this, if moltres and articuno were already caught but zapdos gets regenerated, does zapdos still start in frame 6 or does it take over moltres' slot at frame 1?

The Legendary Birds (Post E4)

Once you have beaten the elite 4 you may speak with Professor Oak and he will re-release any birds which have not already been captured. The remaining birds will be regenerated in the same order as they were originally (Moltres, Zapdos, and Articuno). If none were captured they will appear on frames 1, 6, and 11. If one was captured the remaining birds will appear on frames 1 and 6. If two were captured the remaining bird will appear on frame 1.

Man I just can't get emploon's timer to work. I just can't seem to figure out what the delay is of the white startup screen. I thought it was 222 for me, but it must not be. Also how can people have different ammounts of time for the white start-up screen to go away? I'm going to try and see if loedoc's 220 will work for me. I'm about ready to give up on using a certain time and delay to get shinies at low frames.

Can someone else tell me how long it takes for their start-up white screen? I just can't seem to figure out how long it takes for it to go away and have to delay counter to start.

Ah, I was waiting for a confirmation for this. Kudos.

I rely on educated guesswork, unfortunately. I use Sephirona's method to gauge my time and then I use the emloop frame converter to tell me the time differences between my spreads, which I then recalculate accordingly.

I'm... confused... again.

Why when using Emloop do you have to continually change spreads? And if it takes me 15 seconds to fully reset how can I possibly do it in 10.1 seconds (my delay [606] + 96 = 702 which is 10.1 in seconds?)

:(

The games white screen time is counted towards that 15 seconds, which it shouldn't be. So you would have 606 delay with about 10.1 seconds for the seconds. So you need to get 702, which is about 11.7 seconds. Aim for 16.7 seconds when you reset to hit A at continue. And if you are over or under, change what time you go for.

Ah right thanks Lightning (you really are a fantastic guy, you've helped me all the way through). So to get 16.7 its my normal reset time (15) minus the delay in seconds (10) added to 702 in seconds (11.7) yes?

I'll come back if I have any more problems

I have a question about the delay; I got a very nice Shiny Spread a delay 596, normally I have 600-604, so would it be possible to get 596?

My pass would be to adjust the year back in time (ie. 2001) when its delay back then would be 604

596 + (2009 - 2001) = 604

Well, that would be wonderful, but not possible, because the year 2000 is 596.

EDIT: I want to capture a pokémon that is on slot 2, but the daytime pokémon are also on the same slot (slot 2) and the night pokémon too, do you know what I should do?

Is there a way or a technique that wil help you get the same constant frame (breeding), or am I the only one who has trouble with the frames?=\
EX: Is Pokemon Platinum easier to get breedings you want, I have no idea where I heard this but I heard it was 'broken'' what does that mean?

Broken means, basically, and depending on context, either game breaking (which RNG sorta is), or incredibly awesome.

And I find it harder to find high level pokes to catch for the initial seed part when using platinum, so I never bothered. I doubt theres many changes, if any. My advice is to use the masuda method, on D/P, catching your pokes just above the resort area. Everything is usully lvl 50 or higher and usually give you an accurate read on your seed.

About the delay question, you can get 596. You just have to tap faster. I aim for 595 on my plat so it should be possible for you. I have gotten 593 before so I don't see why you can't get 596.

Also, I think you need to do it in the morning time then. That would be my guess.

I find Platinum much more "stable" than Diamond, with me being able to get my range of delays much tighter on the former. Frames changing is just bad luck, just try to make sure you have a "good" save by ensuring the NPCs wont move as soon as you start the game. I know this might not make a difference, since there are loads of NPCs you cant see, and other things, but it gives me more of a piece of mind when I'm resetting.
