This is what they should do for levels keep johto the same but make kanto much bigger and then stuff the routes full of high leveled trainers for easy exp.

Yup, lots of TM differences.

Bide --> Rock Tomb
Bubblebeam --> Water Pulse
Thunderbolt --> Shockwave (even though it was still a TM!)
Mega Drain --> Giga Drain
Psywave --> Calm MInd
Fissure --> Earthquake

I believe Toxic and Fire Blast stayed as Gym prizes though...

I would almost rather have the Gym Leaders tutor a move to your pokemon so they don't take up a TM and it gives you some interesting options.

anyone notice that there was a teddiursa in the grass? Wasn't it only in the cave? hopefully more than 5% chance of finding it -_-

Finally, an awesome Steelix sprite! From what we have seen, these sprites are going to be incredible. Since there is room for the "level up with move" pokemon, like Mamoswine, Yanmega, etc, they are going to have new sprites, I assume? Well, half my team is already decided :)

Unfortunately, from what I have seen from the updates/ demos, although the opposing sprite is different, the sprite on the bottom left (our side) hasn't changed as much (in steelick's case, it is exacterly the same as platinum). =( at least they have made many improvements from platinum.

Then I hope HG SS change to cools TMs (though not shared with DPPt GYM leaders).

My wishful predictions for improved gym TM's:

DynamicPunch --> Focus Punch
Icy Wind --> Avalanche
Iron Tail --> Gyro Ball
Dragonbreath --> Dragon Pulse
Mud Slap --> Aerial Ace

The rest, Attract, Fury Cutter, and Shadow Ball, can stay the same(Ecruteak Gym will be marginally harder with Shadow Ball becoming special). Attract makes sense for Whitney, and Fury Cutter is the only move for Scyther that isn't too powerful early on. Avalanche > Icy Wind simply because Nintendo typically understands that 130 base attack should be using physical attacks(not in D/P with that Rhyperior, but they cleaned up in Platinum). Dragon Pulse is a less annoying, more powerful, special dragon move, that Kingdra has access to(Outrage is a tutor). Both Magneton and Steelix can learn Gyro Ball, otherwise I would have said Iron Head(which isn't a TM, but who knows?). Finally, Aerial Ace over the pathetic Mud Slap. He has a Pidgeotto, why in the world is it Mud Slapping me?!

First aerial ace is probably too powerfull 30 minutes into the game. I mean pigeyotto will sweep for the next 2-3 gyms easy. secondly fury cutter isnt a tm lol. And lastly he'll probably just give u turn since it isnt that good ingame and no good bugs exist at that point.

Fury Cutter is no longer a TM though like it was in GSC, so Scyther will most likely not have it. I imagine it would have something like X-Scissor, U-turn or Silver Wind, since those are the only Bug-type TMs there. X-Scissor and U-turn would be hard as hell to deal with early in the game, but Silver Wind could possibly be manageable (even with the possible Technician boost).

Scyther learns Fury Cutter by level up now.

Yeah, Roost would be way too good, Totodile and Chikorita players would be stalled out. I forgot about Fury Cutter not being a TM, but then again, there are only 89 of them in DPP, and no other game stops at anything except 50, so maybe we will get an additional 11, including the old ones like Zap Cannon, DynamicPunch, Fury Cutter, etc. It is speculation, and likely improbable, but I don't know how else they could balance Bugsy.

I thought there are 92 TMs in DPP?

Anyway, they could give Bugsy X-Scissor, or would that be too overpowered?

Edit: AA for Falkner, anyone?

There were 92 TMs and 8 HMs in DPPt, even 100 when you add them up. Anyway, if new TMs were added, they (the item, not the move itself) wouldn't be compatible with DPPt, so GF would have to find some way around that.

I think there's a good chance Scyther may still have fury cutter. If gamefreak doesn't care about putting under leveled yet evolved pokemon in the game I don't think they would mind giving a pokemon a move before it should learn it.

There's also the possibilty of moveset alterations. A lot of pokemon had alterend learnsets for RSE and FRLG. Porygon used to be able to learn Tri-Attack before lvl 50 for example. There's no reason they won't do that again.

Here's an idea, Falkner can give out Pluck. It isn't overpowering and would make more sense than having the overpowering Aerial Ace that early on in the game.

The rest can stay the same with some exceptions.

In FRLG, the back sprites stayed the same as in RSE, so back sprites don't change within generations.
