I doubt it'd be central to rotoms moveset since dusknoir is like a physical more bulky rotom and his pain spilt is underwhelming.

I think that addition of Pain Split puts Rotom on an equal playing field with the other bulky ghosts. I was thinking of a moveset like...

Rotom-F @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 168 Def / 88 Spe
Nature: Bold / Modest
- Thunderbolt
- Blizzard
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp

I actually find it quite odd that Forretress got a tutor move in Pain Split, but I expect it to become a standard nonetheless as it is Forretress's only form of recovery outside of Rest and Leftovers. Any thoughts on this?

Aw Ampharos didn't get Tail Glow. D:

But Heal Bell is easier to get now...

And poor Flareon/Entei. They should have at least given it to Entei since hes a GSC legend...

I think it's excellent that Forry got some love with the tutors, mostly because now Forry can stall better without necessarily having to have a wishpasser. I'm really happy about Gravity as well mostly because it's an excellent addition to stall teams (whether or not they're specifically gravity-oriented). The ability to hit Mence, Latias, and Gyarados with T-spikes makes me very happy, but previously I couldn't free up a slot on Blissey to utilize it. Now I can take Payback off of Forry for either of these moves.

In short, I also think that Pain Split will become standard on Forry.

can any one ripping these game check if giratina orb is programmed in (this will let us know if it will be given at a later event like arceus who was programmed but impossible to obtain)

Foretress won't like wasting a slot for Pain Split. It means that your moveset is restricted to:
~Pain Split
~SR/Spikes/T-spikes
~Rapid Spin
~Attack/Spikes/T-spikes/SR
This means you can only have one entry hazard instead of the usual 2 or you have to forgo having an attacking option or Explosion, which could turn Fortress into set-up bait. It probaly wouldn't be wise to abandon Rapid Spin at all.
Also Pain Split isn't too reliable as you will find weakened pokemon won't be too afraid to swap into Foretress as it attempts to heal.

You can only get it with the level 1 Giratina you get when taking the event Arceus to the Shinto Ruins. It will be holding the orb when you get it (if you choose it over the other two space-time dragons, each holding their respective orb).

I don't know about that because I've made it a bit of a rule on my stall teams that I never put both types of spikes on one poke because it ruins everything if that poke is fainted or if they're hiding Starmie until it's dead. I usually put spikes on forry and t-spikes on Tentacruel.

Same, not to mention it allows you to set up one layer on a certain pokemon, and one on another, rather than having to switch out. A common example is Forretress setting up Spikes / Stealth Rock on Tyranitar's Crunch, or Scizor's Bullet Punch, then Tentacruel sets up a layer of Toxic Spikes against Infernape or Hippowdon.

It's weird that some Pokémon like Articuno and Lapras don't get to learn Heal Bell via move tutor even though they had it upon purification in XD: Gale of Darkness.

?

According to the OP, Lapras can get Heal Bell via tutor now.

I can agree with you regarding Articuno, though.

Excuse me for speculating and going off the current topic but i have a poliwrath set that might work here it is:

Poliwrath@Leftovers
Adamant 64HP 252Att 64Def 68SpDef 64 Speed

Belly Drum
Encore
Waterfall
Ice Punch/Brick Break

The Idea with this set is that you start off with a lead Ninjask then sub up until you have a sub that isnt broken then you baton pass into poliwrath then when you are in with the poliwrath with or without sub you encore the opponents move then you force them to switch or you force them to use the same weak move while you get a free belly drum and with the added speed boosts you should be able to outspeed the opponent and possibly kill them then maybe have a sweep until a priority move pokemon comes in and stops your sweep

P.S i do realize their are some technical flaws with this and that if the opponent might be able to setup on you a little for example maybe Swords Dance or Agility but disregarding those situations i think it could work. What do you think?

I can easily see Forretress using the moveset:

Toxic Spikes/Spikes
Rapid Spin
Gyro Ball/Earthquake
Pain Split

Pain Split really just replaces Explosion/Rest on the standard set.

Also Pain Split Rotom would probably use something like:

Discharge / Shadow Ball
Hidden Power [Ice] / [Fighting]
Will-O-Wisp / Reflect / Overheat
Pain Split

It's pretty much the same as the Rest Talk set but with an extra move.

Edit: @nJoyUrAIDs It's a decent idea but you're usually better off Baton Passing to Marowak or Medicham who can hit hard without setting up.

Also, on the topic of Belly Drum, Magmorter might be able to make use of it.

Magmorter @ Salac Berry
6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant
Flame Body
Belly Drum
Substitute / Thunder Punch
Fire Punch
Earthquake / Thunder Punch

Pretty much the same set as Charizard but Magmorter doesn't get crippled by Stealth Rock and doesn't really have any use for Endure. With Adamant and Belly Drum, you atain an attack of 1268, compared to Charizard's 1172. The main advantage Magmorter has, is that is can actually use Stealth Rock to forgo Substitute and use Thunder Punch for better type coverage. Unfortunately, Magmorter can't outspeed Timid Choice Scarf Heatran after the Salac boost and you shouldn't use Jolly because Charizard would be slightly faster and more powerful with Adamant.

I thought that a Pokemon's stats could only go up to 999, I could be wrong, though.

i see what you mean and it could be useful using magmortar but the point of using poliwrath is he can use encore to force the switch and then get the free belly drum along with the good speed unless marowak or medicham can learn encore as of now i cant remember off the top of my head

More than 99% of the illegal moves sets aren't viable or broken. Doesn't mean we should allow them.

You are clearly confused, or maybe I used some ambiguous language or something.

What I was saying was that Gamefreak decided to exclude Dragonite from obtaining Heal Bell via move tutor in HG/SS, and I was saying that it didn't make sense for them to do that, as it isn't like the Heal Bell + Extremespeed combination is broken(in game, or on a simulator-which they don't care about).

That was only in RBY/GSC. If it were still like that, some Belly Drummers and Baton Pass teams would have to worry about the stats rolling over.

The point isn't trying to set up with Marowak and Medicham once they get the Speed Boosts. You just simply pound away at your opponent while they can't do much to stop you without the right Pokemon. Also, if you can get a Swords Dance up with Ninjask, they won't even need to set up.

Bellyzard outclasses Magmortar because of Blaze and more speed. SR isnt an issue since it can still get off a BD. Charizard also resists Mach Punch and Vacuum wave, which is cool.

Entei didn't get Flare Blitz, and I feel like it never will. The reason? Gamefreak doesn't want Entei, a mere trio legend, to have a stronger STAB move than its master's (read, Ho-oh's base 100 power Sacred Fire).

Yet Moltres has Fire Blast, Zapdos has Thunder, and Articuno has Blizzard... while Lugia has... Sky Attack?
