So Psychic is generally a very poor offensive type? Defensive? And as such, should I use Psycho Cut Absol?
Psychic is poor in OU, but in UU, it's decent. There are lots more poisons to hit and lot less steels to resist, and it helps Absol against fighting types immensely.

On the flipside, using psychic type moves aren't so great with Honchkrow flying around in that tier.

Defensively, Psychic-types are only resistant to themselves and fighting, which is a pretty poor set of resistances. Add three weaknesses and everything else for neutral, and you'll find that you're getting nailed pretty hard from a lot of moves.

So Psychic isn't good typing generally? Is that why Alakazam isn't very popular?

The problem is that most Psychics are frail, and hence picked off by Scizor's Bullet Punch. And there are a lot of steels in OU, so their STAB isn't very effective, add to that the popularity of Tyranitar, and you'll see that Psychic has a rough time.

Even since Yellow, I had a habit of using Psychic on Gengar-which I tried on other Ghost-types, but I was led to belive Gengar is the only one that can actually abuse it right. Say, LO Gengar, Hypnosis/SHadow Ball/Focus Blast/TB or HP anything for the last slot? SpecsGar, can Psychic be a filler? Maybe Taunt somewhere?
And why no Psychic on Latias?

Does anyone know where to get Dive Balls and Repeat Balls in HG/SS? I've looked in every mart and I can't find them!

(I have 16 badges so its definetly not that I don't have enough badges...)

Gengar is allready immune to Fighting moves, so Fighting Types have a hard time aganst him. Toxic immunity makes poisons avoid him too. So it has no real use Type Coverage wise.

On the flipside, With Shadow Ball hitting other (rare) psyscics and FB for Steels, I don't see why not.

I think you should use a support move instead, though, since the set allready hits everything for neutral with SB and FB.

We have been over and over and over this. Psychic isn't popular because it doesn't have good type coverage. Latias does not use it because Dragon Pulse and Surf already have near-perfect neutral coverage, resisted only by Empoleon. Psychic does not help with that, so if you are really worried about him, you would need something like HP Fighting. If, on the other hand, you want to ignore Empoleon and add a wider variety of super effective coverage, you STILL don't want Psychic because it will add only Poison (rare in OU) and Fighting (not that common either, except Lucario who is also steel!). Grass Knot, on the other hand, will give valuable water coverage, making it a way better choice for a third move. HP Fire gives steel coverage, also way better. AND both of those moves deal neutral damage to Empoleon!

And as King Yoshi says, it's no good on Gengar, either, since Gengar already rapes most Fighting and Poison Pokemon. He does not need a super-effective attack to help there.

You seem extremely reluctant to believe that Psychic is not a good move. At this point, I would suggest that you get on Shoddy with your Psychic-packing Gengar and/or Latias, and see if that's not dead weight in your moveset. You are not going to get a different answer by rephrasing your question in this thread yet again.

Who are the best cantidates to use SR in Hail?
Also, must Abomasnow itself be the lead, or I can just lead with an "ordinary" lead and then use Abomasnow?

Jynx sets typically run IceBeam/Sub/Lovely Kiss/CalmMind (or now with HGSS, Nasty Plot)
Except for SpecsBro (the awesomest set ever), Slowbro/king generally use support moves with Surf and maybe HP Electrice.
Starmie simply has better moves to run.

Also, I think instead of asking here you actually check the analysis of those Pokemon, maybe look at the August usage stats on those Pokes and decide by yourself from there.
After seeing the analysis you shouldn't be asking us since we'll just tell you moves the analysis suggests anyway.

Say,
Can I run 3 moves on NP Jynx, or just run Lovely Kiss? If third move, Psychic or Shadow Ball? Use LO?
Also, Surf or Hydro Pump on Choice Starmie? The analysis doesn;t really explain much on this issue...

Since no evryone just ignored my post, i'll just post it again:

1. you forgot about STAB, with STAB, it gets to 3.375*damage so the first attack 33.75 power
3. again, you forgot about STAB, with flash fire it is 1.5* but with STAB it is another 1.5* so that is 2.25* damage bringing it to 225 power

I was stating base power, as asked for in the original question, which does not factor in the boost from STAB.

I'd recommend Lovely Kiss on most Jynx sets, with Ice Beam being it's best option as an attack. Besides Ice Beam, Psychic gets priority because of STAB, then Focus Blast + Shadow Ball for type coverage.

For the case of Starmie, it really just depends on prefrence. Surf for Accuracy and Hydro Punp for Power.

Works? If Latias doesn't need Psychic, why does Jynx?

Alright. I'm trying to breed a flawless or near flawless Horsea. Trouble is, the program provided in the breeding article doesn't allow for 30's

So, if I locked onto a Male Modest Horsea with the Swift Swim ability (thus eliminating that part of the aspect), what would be the chance of breeding a Horsea with 31/x/30+/30+/30+/30+ with the following parents:

x/31/30/31/31/31
x/31/x/31/31/31

1) Forget about Psychics, I'll ask about my other favorite type-Water! Is Water considered good typing generally?
2) If I wantto make an offnesive Hail team, who could set-up SRs for me? CouldI just lead with on "ordinary" lead and the send out Abomasnow?

is that policy review thread about changing the sleep clause serious, or just a very very very early april fools joke?

It's a true-simulation vs. "our own game" debate. Just because you don't think it's an issue does not make it a joke.

1) Yes, general consensus is that it's the best overall typing. Good offensive neutral coverage (and since every water has an ice attack, its even better), while having nice resists and few weaknesses.

2) I recommend Shuca Heatran lead. If he's not thrown away he's still a valuable teammate later in the game.

Does the Dark type grant an immunity to Trick?

No.

I can't answer Icalasari's question.

I seem to remember somewhere there is a thread on the most use moves in the metagame, do I recall correctly and if so where is it? I can't find it anywhere...

Got Soul Silver for my birthday but cannot for the life of me read Japanese... does anyone have a transcultural faq? I wanna start breeding my Nasty Plot Missy!!!

Probably the best thing you can do is get a patched ROM and mimic your run (some things will vary like enemy attacks).

Bam.
