Most Generation PRNG Help / Information

Ok, I've been going backwards to the happiness app. Is there any particular spot I should save, inside or outside the daycare? Should I use an international ditto or a regular one?
You should be using parents that are NOT international, which I think would also throw it off (not 100% sure though). That may be it, since I don't know that going backwards would make any difference since you are still opening up the app only once. Of course if you're not using international parents then that would mean it's a problem with the way you're scrolling through the apps. Regardless, regular parents should be easier to come by so better safe than sorry. It doesn't matter where you save, but I usually just save right in front of the lady so I can hand over my parents right after I finish my taps/flips.

I've been using non-international parents though. When I scroll, should I go one by one or tap rapidly until I get the number 6 and then stop?

Don't know if it makes a difference or not, since I think the only one that advances is the happiness app, but I always allow them to open up before advancing to the next app. Also, another thing which may be obvious but would certainly throw you off is not having 6 party members when doing the taps and flips. That's about all I can think of, so I hope it helps.

Just to be clear, I should have a total of 6 pokes on my team, two of which are the parents. I might of had 5 on my team by accident.

Yeah, you must have 6. It really doesn't matter if you have the parents or not, it's just easier that way. They can actually already be in the daycare as long as you do not move before doing all of the flips and taps, as moving around could accidentally generate an egg before you actually want it.

Still trying to figure out if there's a way to hit a delay that wouldn't give you enough time to hit continue after you SR for emloop.

Okay, I've spent literally about 10 hours over the past few days trying to hit a specific seed on Emloop. I know I have the date and time right. My target delay is 1124, and I've hit 1120, 1122, 1126, and 1132 several times, as well as various other nearby delays. I keep telling myself that I'm in the ballpark and will hit it eventually, but after hours and hours, I have not. Do you all recommend I change my date/time? Has this worked for anyone else who has hit all around one specific delay but just can't seem to nail it?

I usually keep track of each delay I hit. If I keep hitting something else, I switch to it.

HG/SS Question...

So, I've been trying to find some consistent means of advancing Method 1 Frames for the Dogs in the Burned Tower. I've tried...

  • Waiting to check for NPCs (none)
  • Repel+Step/Turn randomly (inconsistent advancements)
  • Repel+Turn specifically to or from your poke (inconsistent advancements)
  • Repel+Step/Turn specifically not to or from your poke (inconsistent advancements)
  • Detuning the Radio (as per Click C's instructions) on Saturdays (inconsistent advancements)
  • Sweet Scenting (inconsistent advancements)
The only thing I can think of is that the frames are advancing inconsistently because I'm hitting different seeds each time. Do you think I just have to try until I hit my seed and then figure out what specific actions (Sweet Scent+x amount of steps/turns, etc) I have to do for that specific seed?

Anybody got any ideas on how to consistently advance your Method 1 frame in HG???

I say just keep trying. You'll eventually get it. It's happened to me a lot.=P

If I'm using Emloop rather than button-mashing for my usual delay, I do that at first and adjust the number until I get it in the ballpark. I check my delays every now and then after that, but usually don't bother since it slows me down to catch a Pokémon or search my flips each time. I'd rather not switch, since it would involve changing the year, and if I'm already going through the trouble of Emloop, I'd rather end up with a Pokémon with a legit date.

I know I've been on here a lot lately, but I hope someone can at least answer this one question.

In HG/SS if I hit my seed and then repeat the same actions, such as Sweet Scenting x amount of times, will it advance the frames the same amount?

That's my one hope at the moment. I've been testing for ways to "consistently" advance my frame regardless of what seed I hit (like in DPPt), but I haven't been able to find a single action (even detuning, unless I'm doing it wrong) that consistently advances frames by a "solid x" regardless of what seed I hit. And then, they all seem to advance by different amounts even if I'm on the same seed! @_@

My hope is that I can just hit my seed, sweet scent x amount of times and see how far that advances me. Then hit my seed again, sweet scent those x amount of times and maybe add a couple of turns on a wild patch and see how far that gets, until I hit my target frame. Anybody think this might work?

If I don't get an answer, I'll just test it tomorrow.

-_-...zzzzzZZZZZZZZ

Dialga/Palkia are still frame 1 on method J in Platinum, right? I just want to make sure, because if they are, I must have miscounted my frame advancement at some point.

@mattj: The advancement of the radio depends on the time. Somewhere in this thread I mapped out some times where it works consistant.
And yeah it does work although Radio or talking to your pokemon is way easier to get to your target frame and sweet scent then. There are some spreads for talking to your pokemon as well.

how can you tell if you can use synchronize on a method J spread?
and can you use synchronize on this spread-seed:5407027b
31/14/31/30/31/30

That's because Shaymin is a Method 1 pokemon. You've obtained it from a wondercard. You were supposed to RNG abuse it when you received it from the PokeMart to get the nature/ability(if a pokemon has a second one), then you have to RNG abuse again for the spread.

no the shaymin at flower paradise

you always have to use a synchronizer for Method J spreads.

Uh, both of these are wrong.

You don't have to use a synchronizer to abuse for method J.

And you don't abuse twice for wondercards, it is just that the nature is random. Additionally, how do you even know he is not catching it on route (which would make it method J)?

Be careful giving wrong information here.

Can you answer please
how can you check if you can use a synchronizer on method J spreads?

OOPS, XD! well...I've only used Method J for legendaries and I've used a synchronizer every time...

Sorry, I should only answer questions to things I have experience with...

Thanks.

The RNG Reporter Version 7.10 has the ability to let you abuse your SID in HG/SS, right? Yes, I know I sound like a n00b, but I want to make sure that it does before I beg my dad to let me download it.

No, that is a completely different program. Pandora's Box. Links on the first page. I am trying to convince eep to integrate it with RNG Reporter, though :)
