Smogon Damage Calculator Released!

This is definitely easier to use than the Libelldra and Metalkid calculator. The amount of work you put into this is amazing and 5 pages of praise is well deserved. Thanks a lot Doug!

I'm having a bit of trouble doing calcs for Guts boosted Facade Swellow. I know it does much more than 48.2% - 57.1% to the Conservative Booster Raikou set from experience. The attack level was set to +1, but I can't seem to get the power increase for Facade because of status. Help?

Sexy christmas present ;). Really, Doug, brilliant job as always. I never had problems with Libelldra, but this one is much better, so it's really something. Anyway, good job and congratulations again, as you deserve it ;).

EDIT: Yeah, I forgot to mention one thing, as I also miss it.

awesome, i just miss the odds of an o/2hko with sr ss etc.

Click the Other button on Swellow's side, you can give it a status effect and that will active both Facade and Guts (damage went from 32%-38% to 96%-113%).

pretty intuitive, totally comprehensive, and really impressive. the only thing i'd change would be to add a libelldra-like "dumb mode" that just lets you put in attack-def-hp-base power-stab, which makes for way easier "theoretical" calcs, or back of the envelope estimations. it's just sometimes quicker to do a quick stat calc in your head and type it in, as opposed to having to pick pokemon no matter what

this is just so helpful and easy to use
far better than any other one i've seen.

thanks a lot Doug.

This calculator is awesome. It's helped me win a battle by showing how much damage I would do to the opposing pokemon, and its giving me very good support for my Qwilfish argument...Thanks Doug!

Wow this is so cool. Finally smogon has the one thing that everyone else seems to have- a damage calculator. It looks way better than any of the others I have seen. Great work Doug keep it up.

It may be just me but I think that it would be much more convenient if the calculator(s) were tabbed by the search function. Just a thought.

Anyways, thanks so much for this doug.

I did a damage calculation with Slaking's choice band moveset using return against spiker skarmory and I'm getting 57.2-67.4% damage. that doesn't seem right...

EDIT: it seems to be working fine now. I don't know what could've happened.

Sometimes it goes off at first use. For example 252 SpA Life Orb Dragonair with Draco Meteor which deals on Specially defensive Slowking... 104% damage minimum. But at second time it was fine, so we just need to remember to make calculations twice.

I'm not aware of anything that would cause this to happen. If you can make a repeatable bug, then please report it in this thread.

It is possible to "get ahead of the calculator", when certain actions are performed. Basically, the calculator might lag while updating fields. In the meantime, if you perform a calculation, it might be possible for the calc to act on the not-yet-updated information. I can't be sure if this is happening in the cases mentioned above. But, it may be an issue with the speed of your entries, combined with the speed of your computer/network and the Smogon server.
