Hey, I'm new here, and I need help. I figured since this is the "Get your question answered" thread, I would get help. Anyhow, this might not be the right thread to post in but here go my questions?
1)Is there any way to figure out if a pokemon is a hack? Besides the obvious "met at Lv. 100"?
2)What does OU, UU, and all those weird acronyms stand for?
3)What would be the best nature for a Larvitar. I want to EV train it in attack and defense, hatching it a shiny using the madusa method?
Thank you.

Welcome to Smogon!

1) During a Wifi battle, the only reliable way is to run damage calculations, in my opinion. Smogon just released its own damage calculator. In my opinion, its one of, if not the best damage calculator out there.
2) Those acronyms represent the Tiers of Pokémon. OU - Overused, BL - Borderline, UU - Underused, NU - Neverused, NFE - Not Fully Evolved.
3) Usually, Adamant is the best nature. But, since you desire to EV train it in Defense as well, Impish is a viable alternative. Do you have any idea what type of Tyranitar you'd want to use?

Quick question, if I breed a ditto 31/31/31/31/31/31 with my umbreon 31/31/31/31/31/31. Is there a high chance that the baby will have high or near perfect IV's?

I think there's a good chance several of the IVs will be inherited, and thus 31. But they can't all be inherited, thus those that aren't have only a random chance of being 31, making quint or hex-flawless still quite unlikely (on the order of 1%)
The breeding guide, http://www.smogon.com/ingame/guides/ should have more info.

1. Banned "deucer"? I've never even heard that word before, who picked it?

2. Which game is easier to RNG abuse, Emerald or Platinum? Or is there even a difference?

3. Is it possible to RNG abuse on an emulator? I have my laptop with me more than my DS, so it would be loads more convenient, but I noticed the framerate wobbles a tiny bit.

4. Where can I find Sugimori artwork for all 493 shiny Pokemon? I've only been able to find 386 shiny.

1. ?

2. Emerald. You know the seed already (always zero), so no need to spend time finding it.

3. Yes. Actually it's much easier since you can use RAM addresses and savestates to find values and stuff instantly.
(Unfortunately I don't know the specifics. Since I'm trying to learn RNG on an emulator myself, can someone tell me what RAM addresses to watch, etc.?)

4. There is no official Sugimori artwork for shiny Pokemon. They were recolors of the original artwork.

I've been working on the core of a Hail Team and come up with Abomasnow, Froslass, and Walrein--however, I just realized that all their best hail sets utilize subsitute in some way. Would it be redundant at all to have three ice pokemon with substitute on a hail team? Also, the guide to Hail teams said that mono-ice wasn't the way to go but a team of Abomasnow, Froslass, Walrein, Glaceon, Mamoswine, and Weavile seems pretty decent...

The reason you don't want a mono-ice team is because ice is utterly terrible defensively. Right now, Scarf Tran literally mows down your entire team. Everytime you switch in with your current team, you will only have 75% health. As for Substitute, I'm not really sure as I've never played stall extensively.

Could anyone confirm that you get a trainer star if you get 100 wins in DOUBLES at the battle tower? I'd REALLY appreciate it!

Your participating pokemon all get a Double Ability Ribbon for having a streak of 50 or higher in Double Battle Tower, but aside from that, there is no special prize for having 100 wins (or any high streak number) in Double Battle Tower.

You can use X-Act's probability calculator to calculate the probability you want:
http://users.smogon.com/X-Act/IVProbs.html

Basically if you are concerned with only 3 or fewer IVs, it should not take you very long, but with 4 or more IVs it is a much longer process, and inheriting HP or Def is a harder than inheriting the other 4 stats.

So your saying you only get a trainer star if you get 100 streak in singles? that sucks =[

Thanks for the IV help too

So, assuming I keep Walrein, Froslass, and Abomasnow... what are three more pokemon that would cover the weaknesses?

I haven't tried Emerald, but Platinum has some features that help it. Once you have calibrated your delay, you can check you have correctly hit your seed using the Coin Flip app and RNGReporter. Each attempt at hitting your seed only takes a couple of minutes.
In Emerald you have to wait a moderately long period of time before trying to do events at precisely the right time.
Meaning, you can make more 'attempts' in a given period of time in Platinum than in Emerald.

When it comes to caught Pokemon (legendaries mainly) you can get better spreads in Platinum. But they're different legendaries anyway.
Emerald has the advantage that once you have RNG manipulated something, you can very easily clone it. You can't clone in Platinum (unless you use a cheating device.)

Well, when I was replying, Tentacruel popped into my head. It has a fire resist that is useful for any Hail team, and can also use Rapid Spin to get rid of Toxic Spikes.

Tentacruel doesn't need to Rapid Spin to get rid of T.Spikes, it already absorbs them upon switching in. It can get rid of SR and Spikes, though, which can be annoying for the Rock-weak Ice-types.

Without SR, would Garchomp still be better than Salamence?
I was thinking without SR, MixMence could be a monstrosity.
What do you guys think? (I was just curious hehe)

I think this belongs to the discussion threads, but Garchomp is still faster, has a +2 boosting move rather than +1 and doesn't have to rely on Life Orb / Choice to do some real damage and Sand Veil makes it harder to take down.

I'm making a Choice Band Slaking. Here's my question. If I breed Rhydon(M) with Earthquake and Slakoth(F), would the baby learn EQ? And what are other choices for Fire Punch(don't have platinum). Is Brick break an alternate move for Fire Punch? If I use Giga Impact, can I switch? Thanks!

You cannot breed Earthquake onto Slakoth, you will have to use the TM once it has evolved.
Brick Break should work I guess. Problem is that makes three of your four moves a free switch-in for most ghosts.
You cannot switch out on the recharge turn of Giga Impact.
