I didn't see anywhere in the posted rules about any clauses in effect. Which clauses are in effect? I would personally like to build my team around evasion and OHKO if it is possible, as I think a team that takes advantage of free substitutes from evasion and utilizes strong moves or OHKO spamming to defeat teams.

Try pairing a "no guard" Machamp with a "Fissure" Ditto. Perfect combo! Crazy fun! What could go wrong?

I was thinking seriously. Substitute pokemon around, change the crappy EV's and things, but this is the idea. Glalie and Mamoswine would be the "sweepers" in this setup, but you can adjust the items to fit your needs (item clause sucks).

A little late, but my friend's Aerodactyl going to work against me in VGC 2010 rules: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Xyw2iOHb2k Granted that was our first 2010 battle ever, so there was a lot of improvising going on. Still worth a peep though.

@Baldafor: Hyper offense murks team that try to sit around and put up subs. "Unreliable" doesn't begin to describe Sheer Cold...

If you're going to attempt a OHKO team in ubers at least use some ubers so you don't get demolished. Maybe a Sheer Cold Kyogre and Fissure Groudon, lol.

does anyone have any more battle video codes since the last group was posted!?!?!?! Also, does anyone think the rotom forms are going to be of any use at all this year????

To be honest, I think this year will be more about bulk than anything else. I haven't seen any of the Japanese VGC matches yet, but teams that bulk up with Kyogre and such may have a better shot at winning, to be honest. Then again, I could be spewing crap.

I've been seeing people running straight up offensive teams and I don't know how successful that will be.

From what I've seen on PBR and the GTS (I watch the new Japanese 2010 battles everyday), hyper offensive Rain teams win the most games. Trick Room is a decent defense, but if the Trick Roomer gets taunted/double teamed/critted early, speedy Kyogres mop the floor with people. Bulky Kyogres get blitzed every time- and for good reason.

True, but I can't see them winning every matchup. Wish I had Platinum to see the matches, but I think there may be a different story over in NA.

To those who are wondering where to watch videos in the GTS.... You have to own Platinum, HeartGold, or SoulSilver to do that. And in those games, it's technically called the Global Terminal - the GTS is only the trading section of the GTS.

Hopefully they fix the picking system. I don't want to not get picked. That'll piss me off. I hate how they pick players for these tournaments.

The point of the team was to ensure dominance over the rain dance teams. Crobat as a lead will nail Ludicolo leads (immune to Fake Out, Brave Bird is a OHKO, U-turn is a 2HKO and switches in something it can't hurt), while Abomasnow is there to set up Hail, which can be reset if you choose by U-turn on Crobat and a switch by Abomasnow if need be. Wood Hammer is a OHKO on Kyogre, it resists Kyogre's most common moveset of Water Spout/Surf/Thunder/Protect and will win in a fight. Any of the other pokemon can be used, but use whatever you like.

The idea of OHKO teams is that no matter what you are against, if you set up a sub on one of your two mons safely, you have a very good chance of killing any threat regardless of their speed or boosts.

Micle Berry provides a one-time use OHKO for free, if you want to use it repeatedly you may use Snorlax with Recycle/Fissure/Return/Crunch or another similar set on a different pokemon.

I am just throwing out the idea, the team was just something I threw together on the spot, but I am suggesting the use of evasion and OHKO might work.

kyogre / dialga / latias / kingdra / toxicroak / ludiclo
thoughts/sugestions?

if this is your team, shouldn't you first have only 4 pokemons?
also, i feel like an all-out attacking palkia may be a good choice for you esp with kyogre running around (spA-based MixKia).
