Whats a good team that can fly through the E4 (Plat.) quickly and easily? Preferably a team of 5 so I can put an Exp.share on the 6th. I plan on using it mostly to level Bred out EV'ed Pokes and it would be the second round of the E4 (higher levels).

Idk about you, but I ran thru my Plat using a torterra and gyrados combo, and in my pearl i used a infernape and gyarados combo. They generally cover each other pretty well, and if you only use those two, but the elite 4 they should be like in their 70s, and all you need is a nasty plot or a dd to rape. I think i ran thru it in less than 10 hours, of course this is not counting all the soft reset on the legendaries

I need help here,

I gave a lvl 1 cleffa a rare candy, then it evolved into clefairy, after using moon stone I had a lvl 2 clefable.

then I went to pastoria city to let it learn follow me via heart scale, but it wasn't listed in the dudes tutor list...

how come?

Is Metronome even viable?

Just to clear up any confusion, I'm talking about the item Metronome, not the move. I've not tried using it on Shoddy yet, but I have while battling against my mates on the cartridge (they know all about EVs and stuff, so they're not noobs). The most success I ever had with it was when I used mono-attackers, like resttalk dd gyarados, and he swept really well. However, you really do notice the lack of leftovers with him, and it's annoying when you have to use rest again, bringing waterfalls power back down again. Basically, my point is this: when you use metronome, does the power of the move you're using rise indefinetly, or only to a certain amount? And for multi-turn moves like icicle spear on cloyster, does it make the power rise after every hit, or only when you use the move again on the next turn? If that's the case, i see potential in a cloyster with stab clamp and icicle spear. I believe he even gets rick blast...

The maximum boost is 100%, ie double the original power.

It applies on selections, meaning multi-hits won't give multi-boosts, and locking moves like Outrage only boost when selected.

It has been discussed in the never-used items thread, and the general consensus is that type boosters do better. It takes something like 5 attacks before the metronome will have done more overall damage than the type booster.

2 reasons.

1.) Clefable does not have any Level-Up moves besides Pound, Double Slap, Minimize, and Metronome. So you can't use a Heart Scale on it to teach it anything other than those four moves, regardless of its level.

2.) Clefairy does not learn Follow Me until level 16. So in order to use a Heart Scale on Clefairy, it needs to be level 16 or higher.

In short, you need to breed a Cleffa with the move, you can't use a Heart Scale to learn it and still keep it at level 2.

*EDIT*
I just realized that Cleffa cannot learn Follow Me at all, so unfortunately the only way to get it is by leveling Clefairy up to level 16, or using a Heart Scale on a level 16 or higher Clefairy.

Is there any easy way to get good-natured synchronizers without using another synchronizer or manipulating the RNG?

Does fainting in the battle tower lower the happiness levels of your pokemon? I want to know this because if I use return in the tower and this is true it could get weaker from battle to battle if I keep fainting.

Is Wynaut legal in Little Cup or any other tier besides Uber?

It is legal in LC, mainly because the hits there are much more stronger due to the relatively low defenses and HP of the pokes at level 5, which greatly hinders Wynaut in that tier.

As for other tiers, apparently there is going to be a Suspect test in order to decide whether Wynaut is too good for OU or not.

Didn't want to create a thread for this but it sorta does promote discussion. Can I please have some people's opinions on whether it is better to use flame or toxic orb on swellow in UU. Now, people might say toxic due to Swellow often switching in one turn at a time throughout the match and the 6% damage taken from toxic orb is better than the 12% that would be taken from flame orb. However I am currently using a semi-stall team where I literally only reveal Swellow on the last few turns of the game to clean up. Surely flame orb is better in this situation as the accumulated damage from toxic orb would outweigh that of flame orb. Opinions please.

@seven7xenon: I feel like you answered your own question. I'd also go with Flame Orb if I was using that particular strategy.

@pokerama: The points do nothing. They're just there for bragging rights.

Basically, after three turns, the damage inflicted by Toxic Orb outweighs the damage done by Flame Orb. If you think you can keep Swellow alive for more than three turns, Flame Orb is clearly the better option. Otherwise, Toxic Orb is preferred.

No, wins and losses in the BT don't affect happiness.

I read a question on Yahoo! Answers that got my brain whirring

The person is using a generation 1 only team to face a generation 3 only team. When I went to answer it, I thought it would be simple. But thinking about it, well, it seems to be harder than I though

They didn't provide details, so I am assuming that it is ubers, with the Kanto user having access to any non event Pokemon (1-150), and the opponent having access to event Pokemon (252-386), for the sake of planning. Mewtwo of course would be a must for an Ubers battle, but seeing as how Kanto, without Mew, has access only to Mewtwo for Ubers, and Hoenn, with events, has access to Latios, Latias w/ Soul Dew, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, and Deoxys (attack and speed formes being the main worry), well, that causes issues

So, any ideas for Pokemon to put on the team? All I can think of is Mewtwo for raw power, Chansey to absorb special attacks, and Zapdos to fry Kyogre =/

Never thought that someone asking for help with a team on Yahoo! would become such a brain teaser for me XD

Gyarados and Dragonite could work as a great sweepers. Lapras has Water Absorb to take Kyogre's attacks and can learn Thunder. Gengar is a great revenge killer.
