About Iron Ball

Let's say I have a pokémon with a speedstat of 67.

When attached with Iron Ball, will it's speed stat be:

67:2 = 33,5, round up: 34
67:2 = 33,5, round down: 33

Thanks in advance

What styled team does anyone suggest for Ubers? I've been considering a Rain Dance team for VGC, which may utilize Ubers, but it seems like many teams are being tailored to counter them.

Should I know of another kind of team that would be of better use, go for broke with a RD team or just use a Goodstuffs team and hope for the best?

Is there any way to get good natures Mesprit/Cresselia/legendary birds in Platinum? having a synchronize poke with the right nature when you send mesprit/cress off helps, or doesnt matter at all? if I save before I talk to the professor with the national dex, will the birds have different natures each time I reset? thanks!

to ensure that either kyogre/groudon get the weather effect, would it be advisable to give kyogre/groudon a -speed nature?

Not sure, but I know that some people (a lot of people, actually), often purposely run the clock down to ensure that they "lose" the speed tie and therefore get the weather up last. I don't think its worth giving up the other EVs just to win the Kyogre vs Groudon matchup.

@CCM30: If you're just starting off in the tier, go for a simple offensive team. Find a sweeper and build around it. There are some fun sweepers in Ubers like Darkrai, Mewtwo, and Rayquaza that can wreck teams consistently. Once you've mastered the basics of the tier, then move into more complex strategies like Rain Dance, Stall, etc.

@AotRS: If you're planning on facing other Kyogre/Groudon (like in the VGC) then absolutely. If your team depends on getting rain up, get as low of a speed on Kyogre as possible, since the slowest auto-weather inducer gets its weather up if two are switched in simultaneously (like at the start of a match).

I really doubt that a speed tie on Wifi is decided by who makes their move last.

Synchronisers do not work.

If you kill the legendary, then beat the Elite 4, it will be available again.

It is very possible to get excellent IVs using RNG manipulation. Things are slightly complex for the birds - you should go for them one at a time, killing the one's you're not after then rereleasing them.

Look in the in-game section of the website for more info.

Whats a good team that can fly through the E4 (Plat.) quickly and easily? Preferably a team of 5 so I can put an Exp.share on the 6th. I plan on using it mostly to level Bred out EV'ed Pokes and it would be the second round of the E4 (higher levels).

Is there a video/picture/etc. of the certain colors certain Pokeballs make when they open? If so, could I get a link please?

A pokemon with ice shard helps for bugsy's bugs, gliscor, and cynthia's garchomp. Mamoswine works there, as does sneasel (beware, it learns it at level 49). Houndoom or infernape are helpful for roserade, lucario, and other bugs like scizor. A strong grass type wrecks bertha, but anything with grass knot does fine. You can also use a water type (like floatzel) to beat everything but wishcash, and also beats flint.Aqua jet definetly helps there. Haunter/gengar and spiritomb both beat lucian, but anythng ghost type works. Now for cynthia. Spiritomb you just have to hit hard. Roserade dies to ice shard or a fire attack. ghost or ice shard both kill togekiss. Lucario gets hit by a fire attack. Milotic gets hit by a grass type, and is very heavy, so grass knot helps. Garchomp doesnt like taking ice shard.

Team: mamoswine/weavile, houndoom/infernape, floatzel, gengar/spiritomb, grass type.

I have an in-game question: how do you evolve Magneton and Nosepass in Heart Gold and Soul Silver (since Mt. Coronet doesn't exist there)?

My guess is it cannot be done - you have to trade them into DPPt to evolve them.

I have a HGSS question too. Apparently if you get Groudon and Kyogre in either of HG or SS you can catch Rayquaza. Can these be any Groudon and Kyogre (ie, ones originally from RSE), or do they have to be the Groudon and Kyogre caught in Heart Gold and Soul Silver?

When I'm raising competitive Pokemon, I usually use male hatchlings instead of females so that any egg/TM moves can be passed down to another species later if the need arises. Are there any practical reasons to use females instead? (I have a box of Dittos for nature passing.)

I don't think anyone has recorded "the color a Pokeball makes when it opens." Not even Bulbapedia. If you really want to know, then just use the game.

No, there isn't, so you'd have to try them yourself. I can do a quick rundown, though.

Pokeball-Pink
Great Ball-Blue
Ultra Ball-Yellow and White
Premier Ball-Red
Net Ball-Blue, with a net.
Dive Ball-Swirling blue bubbles of color.
Nest Ball-Green and Yellow Circles
Safari Ball-Green and Yellow Streaks
Dusk Ball-Purple and Black
Heal Ball-Pink with a circle of white diamonds.
Cherish Ball-Rainbow
Master Ball-Large flash of pink and purple.
Timer Ball-White, with a spinning dial in the center.
Repeat Ball-Yellow and Black circles.
Quick Ball-Light Blue, with a single yellow Loop upon release.

That's all I can remember.

Why are Starks moderators so lock happy? They lock any new or revolutionalizing ideea or thread that comes up. If someone suggests banfree metagame, they immideately lock it up. The worst case for me when someonelocked up the Spesific durability thread, which made no sense.

Also, I've seen threads locked in RMT forum because they were bad. Why? Isn't RMT forum supposed to be for people who look help for their teams. If someone locks their team, it doesn't help them at all.

Tangerine outlined the main reasons as to why Stark's posts are strictly monitored in the thread titled Demystifying Stark Mountain. I'm convinced that they hit the nail on the head, so maybe you should check that out as well:

The main reason 'bad' RMTs are locked are usually related to rules 15 and 16, which often ties in with rule 3.

It is expected that you know the game to a certain degree of proficiency before posting your team for a rate here. Recently there has been a surge of teams made by players obviously brand new to the competitive scene -- there is little that can be done to help you here I'm afraid. This is the 'rate' my team forum, not 'rebuild my team for me' forum. Best place to go to in that situation would be Battling 101, and the Introduction to Competitive Pokemon article on site. If your team is deemed to show a severe lack of the understanding of the metagame, it will be closed and possibly infracted. This is completely up to the discretion of the mods.
There is, contrary to popular belief, some merit in the unknowledgeable following the guidelines.
