How much atk does Gyarados need in order to OHKO Gengar with Waterfall? These are the conditions I'm considering:

Gyarados
Adamant, one Dragon Dance up, no Life Orb/Choice Band.

Gengar
252 atk, 252 speed, 4 hp or defense, 87,5% life (SR damage)

-----

Gengar is one of the most common switch-ins after I get Gyara up and DD once, so I want to OHKO it with Waterfall once it switches in to "counter" Gyara with Thunderbolt. Naturally, I want to find out the minimum atk EVs I need so that I can use the rest to make Gyarados faster/bulkier.

Thanks in advance!

Even with 0 Attack EVs (314 Attack), a +1 Adamant Gyarados holding Leftovers will deal at least 98% to a standard Gengar with Waterfall.

For a doubles team, I'm planning on leading Kyogre to set up rain. Should I use a Kingdra alongside it with Swift Swim or a Swampert? I'm afraid that if RD is taken out, Kingdra is useless, but with it, it seems better to use that than a Swampert.
Someone answered this, as they answered in favor of Kingdra over Kyogre.

So, my question is, in Ubers, does Kingdra really need Max Speed to outrun mostly everything or will Swift Swim do it fine? My current Kingdra is running 252 HP / 252 SpAtk / 4 Speed. Will that be fine?

If I ask for a NU battle in the battle me thread, am I allowed to use pokémon like
Gabite / Haunter / Sneasel, since they aren't found in the NU or UU tierlist.

@CCM30, be aware that Kingdra is in alot of Uber teams lately, so at least you'll always lose the tie against it.

^ eppie- im pretty sure you are, since you can use NU in OU, so you should be able to use NFE in NU.

My question is if you can use Flash Fire more than once, like if I use Fire Punch on Heatran twice, then will Heatran's Fire type moves be boosted by 2.25(1.5*1.5) or would it just be 1.5 even after it gets hit by the second Fire Punch?

According to Flash Fire's description, subsequent Fire-type moves do not provide a further boost in the damage dealt by such moves. So the answer is no.

thanks, and about your question:

no, if you use fire punch for the second time on heatran (if heatran didn't switch out) it will say: ''Heatrans Flash Fire made Fire Punch useless.''

Another question. Doubles with a Kyogre lead. I asked last time if Kingdra was better than Swampert for the other lead and I got Kingdra. What about Ludicolo?

Also, does Kingdra need Max Speed to be outrunning everything in Ubers with Swift Swim and rain in effect, or is Swift Swim fine by itself?

@CCM30: Kingdra and Ludicolo are fairly different despite both being water type swift swimmers. I personally wouldn't say one is exactly better than the other. I'd say: Kingdra would generally be a better attacker in general due to having better offensive stats (and offensive typing), while Ludicolo is better defensive stats and better defensive typing. Ludicolo also has access to Fake Out, which is a fairly good move to have in Doubles. Having Grass STAB also means it can deal with opposing Kyogre better. So it depends on role, and of course the role of your Kyogre and other team members also.

For the second question:
Even with +Speed nature and 252 Speed EVs, Kingdra does not outspeed a +speed nature Choice Scarf Mewtwo (Not sure how common that would be in Doubles, but a self-destruct that fast could be useful).

It needs 224 Speed EVs with positive nature to outspeed +Speed Choice Scarf Darkrai.
It needs 188 Speed EVs with neutral nature to outspeed +Speed Deoxys-S.
It needs 56 Speed EVs with neutral nature to outspeed the 150 base speed Deoxys.
0 Speed EVs will still outspeed +base 130.

I'm assuming Level 100, btw.

EDIT: O yeah, 240 Speed EVs with positive nature to outspeed Timid Scarf Shaymin-S...

I've been working on a moveset for Electrode, which has seen some moderate success (I still lost the battles because I suck, but I was more interested in seeing if Electrode fulfilled its role well). Is it possible to ask for some help with testing it more, and if so, where would I ask?

New and creative movesets thread, in this forum if you're using it in OU, or the similarr threads in the UU or Uber forums if you're using it there.

I recently got an Adamant natured entei, but the description says, "Kanto, apparently met at Lvl. 50". My question: Is it legit? Thank you.

You can catch the beasts in FrLg, so it sounds legit. However, unless we have more info (ID, OT, SID if possible, IVs if possible), it is impossible to say. Heck, even with more information, it wouldn't be guaranteed that it is legitimate

I have a question regarding team building. I am having trouble building a team, and I would like to know if there is a guide somewhere that will show me how. I don't want to learn advanced tactics, I don't want to learn about natures and ev's and that stuff, I want to learn how to build a basic team. People say that I have to choose a single pokemon as my "base" and "build a team around it" but don't go into any more detail. I want to learn how to build a team from the ground up, and am having some trouble figuring it out. Help?
